You’d been leaning against the wall outside the patient’s ICU room, joints burning and body as a whole aching. You grimaced as you held your shoulder, foot braced on the wall behind you to take the weight off your knee.“You take your body for granted.”
You’d had the job for only a couple weeks now, still adjusting and acclimating to the dynamics and environment at PPTH, more specifically the rest of the fellows. This was the second case you’d worked on. The first one had been relatively straightforward, as straightforward as any case that reached the diagnostics department ever was, but this one was proving difficult. The patient was a woman currently in and out of sedation, and combative whenever she was awake and saw someone from the team.
House’s words broke you out of your adrenaline induced haze, and you looked up at him to meet his eye incredulously.
“Excuse me?”
