Summary
The thing about loss is that there are two kinds of it. In one, a person loses a part of them. The second, a more dangerous one, is when the loss shatters the person. These two can happen separately, years apart and still have the same effect.
Miles learns when they happen together, so close to one another, it leaves him a shattered person who has to pick up the pieces himself.
(or, Miles loses his Uncle and Dad, and canon decidedly gets chaotically corrected.)

Summary
A scream rang out into the sky like fireworks. It was a scream no one should ever have to hear. The sound of someone's world crashing, the sound of their heart breaking into two, the sound of a piece of them dying.
Miles exhausted his vocal cords. He felt a tsunami of motions hitting him in the face but he couldn’t feel anything at all. Ears ringing, the last thing he remembered before his eyes were covered by Gwens white gloved fingers was the sight of his dad’s cracked open skull stained on concrete and rubble.
Miles was too late, his dad was dead.
Or
Miles' life is split in two when he looses his dad after just recovering from the loss of his uncle a year earlier. He has to figure out how to grieve, save people, juggle his dangerous crush, and Miguel's consistent apologies.
