“People think that grief shrinks over time.” Tanya’s gaze flew to her usually silent vampiric friend as he spoke softly to E.J and she noted how the half vampire watched him with rapt attention. Bellamy never actually struck Tanya as the paternal type and yet here he was explaining grief to a half human child while his fingers gently played with the ring he always kept on the chain around his neck.
“Grief doesn’t get any smaller. You just grow around it over time.”
“Have you?” The hybrid asked softly and Tanya noted how Edward watched the interaction between his son and the older vampire with an unnecessary precaution. Bellamy did the most outrageous thing, he smiled, a sad and broken thing that Tanya wouldve gladly lived eons without seeing.
“No. I haven’t grown around my grief. I doubt Im the type that ever will.”
Or the AU where Bella knew and fell in love with a one Mary Alice Brandon when they were human.

Preface
I'd never given much thought to how I would die. However, the little I did think of it, it was not in the way I am about to die now. Honestly, with how much bad luck I tend to have, I figured it would be more along the lines of a toilet seat falling from the sky and ending me. You know, Dead Like Me style. The way I am about to die now, though, is really not such a bad way to go. Definitely better than I would have expected, since I am about to die for someone I love, which is comforting. It should not be much of a shock, that I'm about to be unceremoniously snuffed out, considering how my life has been these past few months. Even though I know I would not be staring death in the face now, had I not come to Forks, I still can never regret making the move to that depressingly dreary place. As I look into the eyes of the hunter, gracefully and calmly stepping forward to end me, only one thought comes to mind... Alice, I love you.
