Chapter Text

You numbly feel your wrist vibrate in a pattern, it was flashing a bright red, you could only guess it means 'critical'.

You choke a wheezing breath, watching the dusty floor of the warehouse as someone's feet enters your vision.

"Poppet?"

You perk up from the familiar nickname.

She crouches down, examining your wounds, you were too weak to even defend yourself, you hear her curse at sight of your bleeding out form. She stands once more.

You drag your eyes upwards to see Macey gazing at you pitifully, it was clear to see she knows you're not gonna make it, wordlessly she raises her gun aiming it at your head.

You hack another wet cough, further staining your front, as you try to work with one lung.

Her frown deepens, almost sad.

Ah...your death would come more swiftly than you thought. You close your eyes, in truth, you were scared...utterly terrified you're gonna die alone in a burning warehouse.

A beat passes, you slightly open your eyes to find no one around, did Macey changed her mind? It doesn't matter anyways, you're dying one way or another.

You have so many regrets, you're leaving so much, you're leaving before Mugen opened his eyes, he'll be so confused... but the guys will take care of him, you know they will....

You'll miss them. A certain smile flashes in your mind's eye, him the most.

"You're dying as I predicted you would."

You limply turn your head to face the voice, only to see yourself bleeding out, reflected by a large broken piece of glass that miraculously survived from shattering in the midst of chaos.

You groan.

Your broken reflection is talking. No... you're hallucinating one last time, as if to further your torment before death.

"Have you given up?" She asks.

It is disturbing watching her use your image to communicate this way.

She narrows her eyes, as if awaiting your answer, you let out a wisp of a sigh.

No, not really, but you're only human...your body is giving up on you, you can't do anything with a broken body.

"...Do you want to keep living?"

You feel your numb body shake, probably from shock or your sobbing, is it selfish to say you wished you didn't jump in front of a bullet? That you should've thought of a different action? In truth you weren't ready to die... not here, not now,... but you were so relieved no one had to die for your sake...except you....so why were you so sad?

No. You're angry. Angry you didn't get the bastard who started all of this.

"Let me have control... release me...I can help us."

Another cough as you sputter, wheezing, you try to breathe but you choke on blood. It's so painful. You just want to let go, to numb this pain, yes, like the last time, when she took over.

Your vision is darkening around the edges, you're gasping your last ragged breaths, seeing the same gilded door once more. You reach out for the lock, grasping, yanking it open with a grimace–

Casey huffs, sweat coating his entire being, he had ditched his trenchcoat a long ago during the chase. His hands were busy reloading his guns, his comms a buzzing chaos, apparently, back up and medics had arrived a while ago, but were being stalled by enemies a perimeter away. Now, they're just telling him to hold on.

.... Fuck that. You're dying he's gotta do something. He prays it's not too late for you, but at the back of his mind, he knows no human can come out alive after a shot like that, not without immediate treatment. He managed to lose the crowd tailing after him, now to get back to you–

Ratatatatat!

A volley of shots misses his head by an inch.

He snaps his head to the direction where it came from, only to see one of those scientist's lackeys had found him.

Casey runs towards him as the man shoots, he uses the crates as a shield to get to the burly man wielding a rifle. Casey tackles him as they both go down, grappling for control, he manages to wrest the firearm from the man, pointing it at his head.

The grunt stops struggling, slowly raising his hands in surrender.

Click.

The cold barrel of a gun making contact at the back of his head makes Casey freeze, the guy below him smirks in victory.

Shit. Casey forgot his buddy.

The fire alarms blare as the sprinklers come on.

Terrific.

Your senses blur, as pain shocks your entire being, everything was hot and cold at the same time, like someone lit your cells on fire and doused them with ice.

You shudder, uncontrollably twitching as if you couldn't withstand the change happening. The next thing you know is you're suddenly seeing and hearing farther than you ever could.

The skin around your eyes itched painfully as it blisters, pressing your palms on the area to ease the soreness, but your hands come up against rough scale-like skin.

You gasp, choking, inhaling as much as you can, your collapsed lung suddenly working once more.
You fall on your hands and knees as you hack, vomiting blood that had gone inside your lungs.

It burns.

The sound of tiny metal pieces hitting cement.

You look down to see bloody bullets right below. Your your eyes widen with the realization and horror, that those were inside you a moment ago.

A surge of energy revitalizes you, as if awakening you from a fevered dream. The bracelet on your wrist vibrates once more, it blinks mutagen green.

That ...can't be good.

"Let's begin...Shall we?"

Your lips move without permission, although it sounds like hissing, oddly enough you understand it.

Your body attempts to stand, not without a little bit of stumbling as ...the other you controls it on your behalf, with a flick of your hand, your nails becomes even longer and sharper, than it was before.

"Remember our deal." You mutter sternly, but your mouth doesn't move, if anything, you sound like an echo, but you know she hears you just fine.

"We'll make our arrangementss later, right now however.... Our ssafety iss my resssponsibility."

"No, right now you have to promise me that you won't kill anyone–"

Quicker than you ever sensed, you tilt your head to the left as a bullet whizzed by, your eyes lock on to a guard holding a gun, he seems terrified at what he's seeing.

She tuts, wagging your finger in front of your face, "Not unlessss it's for our well being, besidesss...you're exhaussted. Not to worry, I'll get usss to ssafety."

"No. Promise me no more deaths." You insist.

A beat passes, as if realizing you're not budging, she scowls, "Tsk. Sso be it."

With that, she pounces at the fleeing enemy.

Casey slowly raises his hand, dropping the rifle. It clatters, as the other goon kicks it away from his reach.

The guy below him, punches Casey square in the face, knocking him right off.

They grab him by the collar of his shirt, making him face them.

The sharp click of heels grabs their attention as the grunts stood straighter. A woman with a tight bun glares at him, behind her, a man follows her timidly like a shadow.

"You. Where's the girl?" She snaps at him.

Casey scoffs, it immediately earns him a hard punch to the face. He tastes the metallic tang of blood, as the goon yanks him by his hair forcibly making him face her.

"My patience wears thin. I know she's still around here somewhere. Let's make a deal, either you tell me and I'll even consider of letting you live or you die here and we'll find her eventually–"

"Chloe, I don't think we have permission to do tha–" the pudgy scientist starts.

"Shut it! Anything I say, goes!" She shouts, the man backs off, she turns around to Casey, "Now, let's not make our lives any more difficult, hm? I'll ask again. Where is she?"

Casey glares right back, he spits, the bloody spittle hits the pristine white of her lab coat. Her face twists in disgust and rage.

"YOU LOWLIFE!" She screams, "Dispose of him! And you," She angrily points at the group of guards behind her, "Take some men and find her! Open every crate if you have to! I'll find her myself, even if I have to turn the whole warehouse upside down!!" Her heels clicking angrily as she goes.

"But Chloe! The police will be here soon, our men won't last long–" The man following her protests.

"Then stall them!! Bring out the heavy artillery if you have to, we must find her. At. All. Cost." Her eyes crazed, flashing dangerously.

"This is becoming an unhealthy obsession, Chloe, they're going to catch you. This charade has gone long enough... we're scientists not ...gangsters. " He reasons, eyeing the armed men cautiously.

Her face twists into an ugly scowl. "Not anymore, not after our licenses got revoked. Now go!"

The man frowns, before nodding, hurrying away without another word.

They pull Casey up as they drag him away, he attempts to make a last ditch effort of struggling, but he was easily outnumbered, his struggle had only earned him more bruises than chances of escape.

A gun is pressed up on his forehead, he stills, eyes wildly scanning for a way out, but finding none. He can't help but guess that he'll be joining you in the afterlife, ah, he has some apologizing to do, but knowing you, you'll most likely to forgive him, he wishes he could do the same, for leaving you to bleed out alone. A part of him wishes, by some miracle you did survive, but a shot to the chest one too many? not even he can live through that. April's is gonna be so mad at him.... She always nagged at him for being reckless. "heh. Sorry Red."

The guard looks at him blankly, "No hard feelings, man, just orders–"

"Hey ugly, up here." They look up to catch a glimpse of Donnie, before a blur of blue and green tackles the man, he goes down, faster than anyone could follow.

The other guards are momentarily stunned, Casey takes this opportunity to wrestle the rifle from the nearest one beside him, jamming the butt of it to his head, effectively knocking him out cold.

Casey huffs, giving the guy a final kick, "No hard feelings, man." He mocks, before his eyes follow the direction where Don and Leo had taken out the others.

The detective sighs as they approach him, "Boy, am I glad to see you guys, where's Raph and Mikey?"

"They're helping out the cops a perimeter from here, they need all the help they can get." Don answers his eyes scanning behind him, looking for something.

"Where is she?" Leo asks, not finding you nearby.

Casey's eyes widen, "Right, we need to hurry, she's hurt....really bad...I'm not sure if she-" He swallows, deciding he had wasted enough time, he leads the way instead as Donnie and Leo exchange a look of worry and confusion.

Dodging people as they make their way back to where Casey had left you.

Casey pauses. Staring at what he could only discern is your pool of blood, but with you nowhere in sight. "I–I don't get it.... she was right here–I left her right here!" Casey look towards the guys then to your spot, as if double checking would make you reappear somehow.

"She must've moved away." Leo comments.

"No, She couldn't have." Casey mumbles eyes, flicking to the bloody bullets on the ground his brain trying to make sense of the scene.

Don frowns, "We can't just rule out that she hid in another spot-"

"She was shot, okay?! She was dying! And now you're telling me she just walked away with that kind of injury in this chaos!?" Casey wants to pull his hair out.

'How can you disappear just like that?'

Don and Leo exchange a glances, both with equal looks of disbelief.

"What happened?" Don asks.

Casey's face falls as he recalls where you had been shot, "She was shot in the chest, Don...I wasn't even sure if she made it...she...she saved me." He slams a frustrated fist at the crate, it's all his fault... You're dead cause of him.

His eye catches several drops forming a wide gapped trail from the pool of red, he blinks in confusion.

A hand on his shoulder makes him look up.

"I don't understand... She's currently stable, how can she be dying if she's stable?" Leo was watching him with worried eyes, as he hands him his T-phone, it was showing a live feed of your health, the status was blinking "Stable" in bold green letters.

"But...she's... how?" Casey mutters in wonder and hope, his eyes flicking back to the trail of blood drops leading behind a couple of crates.

Something clicks in Casey's mind, "Chloe, that scientist woman must've found her before we did. That's why she's stable. Look, there's a trail of blood leading there." he gestures behind a stack of crates.

Don and Leo nod in unison, "Then we're getting her back." As they follow the direction of the blood trail.

__

Screams and gunshots rang everywhere, Raph was going through enemies and was doing his best not to get shot at by cops, Mikey was on top of a turned over car as he spins his nunchucks disarming enemies.

"When will this end? did they find her yet?" Mikey whines as he blocks a bullet from shooting his face, "Hey! We're one of the good guys!" He yells, waving at the police who shoots at them more. They duck behind a vehicle.

Raph rolls his eyes, as if announcing that will make them not shoot at them.

"Can we go to where Angelcakes is now?" Mikey huffs, peeking to see how many more they have to defeat.

"Just until we can clear this area for these idiots to get through. They're gonna need that ambulance." Raph mutters

He still wishes he wasn't stuck here, he won't admit it out loud but he's gotta know if you're okay.

His mind still replaying earlier's scenario like a broken record, wondering what the hell it could've meant for you.

They all woke up in unison, their phones blaring, the screen flashing a bloody red as your status changes to "Critical", they didn't think twice as they grabbed their weapons and revved up their engines, speeding through the underbelly of the city.

Raphael almost crashes as your status suddenly changed to "Stable", He looks towards Don for an explanation who looks at them equally dumbfounded.

Upon arriving to the surface the sun was still high up, and gun shots could be heard a few meters away, Leo had immediately assessed the situation and started barking orders.

As much as he hated it, Don was best to check on you and Casey first.

He hopes Leo and Don found you. He glances at the blocked street and the ambulance trying to make it's way through despite heavy fire between police and the enemy.

The ground rumbles, they all look up to see a large tank-like vehicle exit a warehouse.

Their eyes go wide as saucers.

Mikey's jaw drops, "Aww heck no."

"Fuck." Raph grumbles,

__

Donnie's watch keeps blinking mutagen green. He should've done a regular check on your band, he forgot alien tech has a tendency to upgrade on its own, so all that's left is just showing "Stable" but the rest of the description had evolved into alien gibberish. He hopes you're alright....

A shot misses him, snapping him back to the fight.

They have been encountering more guards in the area and more of your blood drops.

"They seem to be heading where we're going." Donnie notes,

Leo manages to knock out the ones who spotted them,

"You're right...We must be close, their security here-" Leo slashes through an enemy's rifle, grunting as he slams the guard over his knee, dropping him, "-Is tighter. They must've kept her somewhere around-"

Something explodes, as more yelling and gunshots ensue.

"-there." Casey finishes for Leo, looking ahead.

They exchange looks of surprise, before nodding, heading towards the explosion.

__

Leo doesn't know how to make heads or tails of what he's seeing, judging from the silence of his companions, they must have the same stunned expressions.

It's you.

Yet it's not?

You were covered from head to toe in blood, as you spin two grown men by their collars, using them as hostages, it somehow prevents the crowd surrounding you from shooting, worried that they might shoot at their own. You toss them towards the audience with a war cry.

With a speed and strength he didn't know you had, you had half of the guards on the floor.

You snarl as more guards come to replace their fallen comrades.

Right. He'll question this later.

"We need to help her." Leo yells among the rabble.

It snaps Don and Casey out of their reverie.

Leonardo locks eyes with your slitted ones. You grin, showing sharp fangs, as you slam a guard to the ground. You dust off your blood crusted hands, one of your eyes shifting back to their original state.

"Guysss! I fieenally fouuund youuu-" Your mouth moves awkwardly, like it forgot how to say words, it comes like a garbled hiss, relief on your semi mutant face, as you near them,

"What happened- look out!" Casey yells.

A shot hits your leg as you go down on one knee,

They all shout your name in alarm, as multiple shots hit you from behind.

Your eyes change to slits once more, you roar, you head snapping towards those who shot you, they immediately realized their error as they try to flee, but you quickly give chase.

They watch you go on a rampage.

You drop something, it clinks on the floor. It came from you... a used bloody bullet.

Just what is going on?

__

You snarl, everything was red in your eyes.

You were breathing heavily, stumbling ever so often, as your speed slows down.

It registers to you that your adrenaline and mutagen was already exhausting.

Your mutagenic counterpart however, seems to notice not, she seems to be wildly crazed about finishing the fight around her, rather than escaping.

Your movements were more careless, more violent and dangerous, you attack anyone with a gun.

"Stop. you'll kill someone at this rate." You warn.

This seems to piss her off. "They will be the ones killing uss." She retracts your nails, before punching hard, the gun which the enemy grunt held to block your attack, dents into an awkward fold from the impact, as the mutagen works overtime to repair your broken scaly knuckes and keep you functioning.

The man yelps, fleeing.

Your vision flips upside down as you almost fold yourself in half trying to dodge a swing you were sure would've broken several of your ribs. You retaliate by using your momentum to grab the man by the waist with your legs and toss him behind you.

A sharp pain on your side makes you realize you tore open several almost healed wounds, you stumble, clutching them as your mutagen cells try to keep you from bleeding out.

You duck sensing someone coming for your head, "booyakashaaa!" A yell and a blur of orange misses your face entirely as his kick hits the grunt behind you.

You snarl, your counterpart mistaking it for an attack.

"No wait! He's not an enemy!" You alert her but she doesn't seem to care that he isn't. All she cares about now is how it seemed like he was gonna hurt you. Oh shit.

"Wassup Sweetche-Whoah!" You both go down as you tackle, he blocks your attacks with his nunchucks, as you hiss.

Up close he finally could see the smooth green scales and your freakishly long nails close to his throat. It finally dawns on Mikey that he wasn't talking to you at the moment, "Oh heeeyy-" Your nails press closer as Mikey audibly swallows, "-long time no see, all that blood and scales is really going for ya, it really brings out your eyes," He tries.

One of your hands slips past through his defenses as you stab, breaking concrete, narrowly missing Mikey's head, who barely tilted it away in time. "Uhhhh GUYS??" He yells towards the others, clear alarm in his tone.

"Mikey!" They all turn to him, surprise on their faces at what was transpiring,

"What the-! what are you two doing here!?" Leo asks yelling around the noise, rushing to help their youngest but a round of bullets hinders his path.

"We finished-" A kick to a guard as Raph grunts, "–Early. The police are headed this way. Thought you should know-" Raph mutters, angrily flipping his sais at a grunt, stopping the guy mid action. "What's wrong with her?" He says, nodding towards your direction.

"We're getting to that, I think It's the mutagen acting as a fail safe! But I don't know why she's attacking Mikey." Don yells, using his bo to sweep two men off their feet.

"He must've done somethin' dumb to get her mad." Raph kicks, the guard goes crashing to a bunch of crates.

"I didn't do ANYTHING!" Mikey protests, struggling to keep you at bay.

Don's weapon arcs towards your direction, you avoid it by jumping away with a hiss, as Raph helps Mikey up.

Your body pounces once more, but Leo blocks your attack with his sword.

You have to gain back control. You're floating in your own consciousness, as she wreaks havoc with your body.

A tug on her conscious mind makes her fumble, it felt like pulling harshly on a cord in your mind. It hurts....but maybe....

You tug harder, she stops, glaring, "What are you doing?? She glowers, addressing you.

You carefully weave your subconscious back to it's original spot, but it was a mess and you know it.

" I SAID-" You mentally grit your teeth as you forcefully take back your body, wrenching her control as you both cry out in pain. "STOP."

It was like being thrown forward from a car seat, as you regain control of your senses. Your vision blurs as your body quivers and shakes, weakened.

You fall forward, Leo, who was in closer proximity catches you, as you uncontrollably twitch in his arms.

"What's going on, Don!?" Leo yells in alarm, as Donnie takes out several wires, attaching them to your bracelet and his watch.

His eyes flipping quickly from left to right, reading the information presented to him as fast as he can.

"There's alien language mixed in! I can't read it!" Don's eyes widen, typing something in.

Raph grunts blocking a blow from the enemy with his weapons, "Hurry up and decode it!"

"Easier said than done." Don mutters under his breath.

You're numb but you're feeling too much all at once.

"We're de-stabilizing! What are you doing!?" You hear her growl, as fear floods you, it takes you a second to realize it was her fear.

"No... can't let you... harm them..." You struggle to get out through gritted teeth.

Your body was tearing you apart, as your cells start rejecting each other. You can visibly see the skin of your arm wildly shifting from scales to green coloured skin, then back to your original skintone.

You cough out blood. It immediately causes a reaction from the guys as they visibly urge Donnie to "Do something!" as if the terrapin in purple wasn't doing his best as it is.

"Alright! Alright I won't harm them!! I swear, now let go or we'll both perish!!" She yells in your mind equally just as alarmed at the sudden violent side effects of your forceful takeover.

The pain was becoming unbearable, after a moment's hesitation you decide to trust her, but realize one fatal flaw in your move, "I...I don't know how to let go." You tell her in a panic

She screeches a mind shattering scream of frustration, "Stop it stop it stop it!!"

"I'm trying...–" You look up and see Leo's deep ocean blues, you still, he can help you, "Leo...help..." You feebly ask, it comes out in two distorted voices.

"Y/n, what do I need to do?" He holds your hand as if that will keep you tethered to him.

"I... I need to calm down... now." You wince as your skin becomes sensitive and feverish, his tight hold on your hand felt like a vice grip.

Leo looks around, it's chaos up here, with his brothers keeping the enemy at bay, he can hear the police sirens right outside the warehouse as people scramble to escape or attack.

"Okay.. okay look at me... just look at me, okay? I need you to take a deep breath. Can you do that for me?" Leo's eyes flick to Don who was still trying to find a solution, Donnie was mixing something now as he pulls out corked small vials of various fluids.

You nod weakly as you take a shuddering breath, it burns, hacking out blood, his grip seems a little tighter on you as you do.

Leo encourages you as you try once more, you feel something stab your left arm, you turn to see Don had injected something.

"It's a cell relaxant, it'll buy me some time to figure out what's really going on." Don explains, whilst decoding alien language.

You feel the chemicals kicking in as you sigh, the tranquility coming to you much easier now that the pain had dulled.

Taking a deep breath as Leo guides you through it.

In. Out. Calm.

In.

Out.

Let go.

You feel the tendrils of your consciousness release their grasp, as you let her take control once more.

___

You suddenly still. Don stops from his typing to look at you in worry.

A beep. "Stable" blinking from his watch.

Your eyes flash wide open, slitted pupils blown wide, scanning your situation.

Him and Leo freeze. Not moving an inch as you seem to stabilize once more.

You blink. Slowly.

Then, like lightning, you were gone from Leo's arms, leaping and attacking guards left to right. Leaving them stunned as you knock out the remaining enemies.

Turning to them wildly, jumpy, like you couldn't sit still. You drop the guns you had stolen.

Raph scowls, "I had it covered." Sheathing his sais back to their holsters.

You chitter, twitching like a hyperactive kid on a sugar rush. Oh. Don realizes the cell relaxant was probably numbing your limits at the moment.

You seem to grimace distastefully, hissing and clicking at air, with one last click, your eyes roll back as you topple over like a puppet with it's strings cut. Raph catches you before your head meets the floor.

Don nears him to observe you.

You're breathing easier now and your complexion was slightly better.

Their eyes widen in surprise, your nails recede and your scales start falling off to reveal normal human skin, as if they weren't ever there in the first place.

You groan.

Don couldn't help the sigh of relief that washes over him.

You're okay. You're alive. And that's enough for now.

"Don? Raph?" You murmur, confused.

"How are you feeling?" Don queries gently as if talking any loudly would trigger a bad response.

"I'm....I'm fine?" You blink in surprise, looking at your hand, as if wondering how you're not in pain.

"It's the cell relaxant. I don't think you'll be saying that after it wears off." Don explains to you, his lips twitching to an awkward grimace at the thought.

You don't seem keen at the thought either.

"You're back!" Mikey tries to scoop you into a hug but Raph dodges him, as Mikey ends up hugging air instead.

Mikey shoots his brother a pouty glare.

"She's wounded, Shell for brains." Raph scolds.

"Are you sure you're okay?" Leo fusses over you, you stop him by taking his hand that was on your arm.

"Yeah.... I'm okay, my wounds are just superficial, nothing to worry about, I think... my mutation closed up all the life threatening ones." You tell him, Leo is visibly relieved at those words.

Donatello's wondering if he should get you back in the lab for a proper check up.

"LET ME GO!" A shrill screech startles him as Casey shows up with a woman in a lab coat with her hands behind her back.

"Hey guys, look what I found!" Casey chirps, Don was wondering where he'd gone off to....

Upon seeing them, the woman freezes, "mu-mu-mutants!" She stutters in fright. Her eyes roll back before fainting.

They all wince as she drops like a sack of potatoes. Donatello and his brothers share a deadpan look, already used to the reaction.

"Classic." Casey mutters.

They hear a loud explosion and a dozen or so footsteps entering the warehouse, "NYPD! Drop your weapons and put your hands where I can see them!" Someone yells, it came from somewhere around the direction of the warehouse's entrance.

Then a staticky, "–Detective Jones, can you hear us? Where are you? Over.-" can be heard from Casey's radio.

"That's our cue, we gotta go." Leo says, quickly glancing a route they can discreetly take, away from police, who was filling the warehouse with shouts as men scatter, afraid of getting cuffed.

Raph lifts you up, you scramble to find purchase from the sudden distance from the ground. "Wait-Raph, I don't think I should go..." You start.

"Like hell ya aren't, you're beaten black and blue, it's better for Donnie t'patch ya up."

"She's right. She should stay with Casey, we'll see you later." Leo adds. They all turn to him like he lost his mind.

"But she needs to get checked–" Donatello argues, Leo shakes his head.

"No. She's stable and this is a good opportunity for her to get professional medical care for those wounds. Baxter won't make a move while she's under the watch of so many." He gestures to the direction of the sirens,

Don opens his mouth to counter that he could patch you up just the same.

"Leo's right, NYPD knows she's been shot. If she doesn't show up, she'd be marked kidnapped or filed for dissertation in the middle of a mission." Casey interjects.

"Hey guys, can we speed things up a little cuz- they're headed this way." Mikey impatiently shuffles his weight from foot to foot, waiting for them to hurry up their decision.

Raph seems hesitant to let you go, but one glance from you makes him relent. He sets you down on the rubble covered floor, you give his hand a pat of thanks.

"Let's go team!" Leo orders, before turning to you and Casey, "We'll be close by."

"Go!" Casey yells at them, dragging the unconscious woman to where the police were.

Don tosses you one last backward glance, you were sitting on the floor, not making any moves to stand as you give him a small tired reassuring smile.

Raph watches you from afar as you're escorted out of the warehouse by medics, the place was trashed for a whole 3 blocks as police were arresting the ones they've caught.

They had sat you on the back of the ambulance as a medic tends to your injuries.

You're okay.

It felt like a weight off his shoulders knowing that you're alright. Speaking of- how did you get yourself in this situation?

'Casey. No other answer.' He mutters under his breath, eyes scanning the crowd for the said detective.

"You think she's a mutant?" Leo asks, watching the same scene down below.

"I don't know... she doesn't 'look' mutant." Don answers.

"What're ya gonna do if she was?" Raph asks, raising a curious eyebrow at Leo.

The terrapin in blue stays silent. Brooding as Raph likes to call it.

Mikey's eyes flick back and forth from the conversation, before finally deciding to speak up, "You guys DO realize how awesome that is, right? She could be like ...our secret member the bad guys won't expect it, then WHAM! easy peasy mission squeezy!" He says excitedly pounding a fist to his palm for emphasis.

They all exchange a look of bewilderment, before shaking their heads, typical Mikey to see the brighter side of things.

"What makes ya even think she's gonna agree?" Raph asks, humoring him.

"Being a ninja is awesome, who's gonna turn that down?" Mikey says with a 'duh' expression, Aaannd Raph is done humoring him.

"–you think she'd like a pink mask? Or maybe green? Guys? Bros? Hey, wait up!!" The terrapin in orange hurriedly catches up with his already leaving brothers, as he fires suggestions after suggestions.

Notes:
