Illuga took the liberty of visiting Flins as far as he was. He stepped out of the boat and began walking up the path, looking around at all of the tombstones. Unfortunately he didn't find the blue ragebait- (cough) gentleman… though he didn't feel like going back or going down to Nasha town… so instead he began to gather and bundle flowers, placing them on each gravestone he could.
When he arrived at the final one and took his lantern out, shining it to try and read the words. He's always seen this massive one but he never got a chance to read it… and that chance would slip him again.
He felt a pair of hands begin to cup his face from behind. Before Flins could speak the other turned with quick speed, his polearm appearing and his lantern flashing. Illuga paused however seeing it was Flins, "Oh… apologies…" He let the weapon vanish and he put his lantern on his belt. "Please don't ever do that again Sir Flins…"
Flins nodded slowly. How scary the young master can be… "What brings you here? I promise I've completed my reports this time." He spoke.
Illuga frowned, he's pressing x to doubt on that. He straightened his jacket, beginning to blush a bit. "I just wanted to see you… that's all. It's not a bad time is it…"
Flins shook his head, how adorable the young master can be… "That is quite alright with me. Unfortunately I haven't prepared anything, so how about some water as I make a meal." He began to usher Illuga away from the gravestone and towards the lighthouse.
Flins set a cup of water and a pitcher on the table in front of Illuga before sitting across from him and cutting up ingredients. "Have you been well, Master Illuga?"
"Yes… what about you?" Illuga took a sip of water, Flins didn't answer, he just smiled and scooped all the ingredients in a bowl, going over to the stove and pouring them in the water. "That's good to hear… I hope you haven't been pushing yourself too much."
Illuga squinted, but didn't press more. "Well I can't exactly be fully idle… but the old man has kept urging me to take more breaks…" He set the cup aside. "Which is why I came to see you…"
Flins stirred the pot around, humming quietly. "I see. Well I'm truly honoured that you've come by. Also that you'd think of me when it comes to relaxing. I'll do my best to make sure you have a pleasant time." He spoke.
Illuga stood. "It's… not like it's a vacation… I mean do you need help with anything around here? Like getting supplies, dealing with the monsters on this side, fixing a light— literally anything I'm starting to get bored of how many breaks I've taken!" He groaned.
Flins looked back at him a moment, it was hard to tell what expression he was making but it didn't seem too positive. However he returned his attention to what he was cooking and laughed. "The… headstones outside could use a bit of maintenance. We can clean them together to help it go faster." He turned back around and placed a bowl in front of Illuga. "However, It would make me most happy if you ate first."
And so Illuga ate, the stew Flins made was good but… nothing he'd ever tasted or seen before… maybe he can ask him the recipe before he leaves. Flins on the other hand sat there happily watching as the ashen haired captain ate his stew.
The two then gathered materials and headed out, Flins pointed down the path. "You can take the ones closer to the water, I'll handle the ones up here."
Illuga nodded. "Is it alright if I keep the flowers on there…" He paused in his trip towards the first headstone. Flins nodded. "Of course."
Illuga walked headstone to headstone, cleaning up the grass around them and dusting off the headstone, fixing the flowers and candles and giving respects. These names… they're all ones he's heard before… Though clearly too old for him to have met any of them. Still, it didn't do anything to mute the sorrow he felt growing as he traveled between each of them, preforming the same maintenance and giving his respects.
Illuga made his way back up the path once he was done, he didn't see Flins anywhere though… so he found himself going towards that big gravestone again. He didn't get the chance to read it cause Flins showed up…
He stepped up to it, taking out the flowers he had bundled up for it. However he didn't immediately place them… instead he stared at the headstone.
"Ah there you are, I had gone down the path to find you but I couldn't—" He stopped talking as Illuga turned around, he was frowning.
Ah… "Sir Flins… may I ask how old you are?"
"It's not nice to ask a ladies age—"
"Flins."
"Okay…" He began up the path. Illuga trailed after him. Flins stopped up the path and faced him again. "Do I really have to answer? What spawned such a question…"
Illuga pointed. "The gravestone."
"It's not mine."
"I'd hope not??" He shook his head. "Not the point, it mentions you regardless."
"How about some water? You've helped me so much and I-"
"Don't change the subject please."
"Okay."
They stood in silence for a moment, before Flins crossed his arms. "6… or 7…" (the worm did not like writing that)
"What? Like 60 or 70?"
"Try… 600 or 700." Flins smiled
"?????" Illuga did not actually say several question marks, but his reaction probably is equivalent of that. "What are you then?" He stepped back.
That was the question he didn't wanna answer, Flins hit the thinking pose. "Well, I'm a—"
"Vampire." Illuga pointed. Another long silence. "Hmmm?"
"A… are you not? I mean you're always staying alone and all the animals are scared of you…" He trailed off. Okay that doesn't sound plausible now… he's never bitten anyone… or tried, he hopes…
"Do I seem like I like blood?" He tilted his head. Illuga sighed. "No…"
"I mean if you'd like me to bite you—"
"FLINS." This poor guy, his face is so red.
"Anyways I'm a fairy." Flins walked up.
"…A." Now that he's heard that he's torn between believing him and wondering if he's still messing with him…
Flins just innocently tilted his head and smiled. "Is aught wrong?"
"Are… you actually? Like Miss Linnea?"
Flins gaze wandered off to the side, he was still smiling. He's not helping his case here. "I'd say us two are different still but… yes essentially…"
Illuga stared at him, before putting his hand to his chin. "… so can you do cute magical stuff as well? Does that mean you have wings??" He mumbled. He's taking this better than he thought.
"Uh…" Flins turned around. "How about that glass of water now yes?"
Illuga grabbed one of his hanging belts. "Hold on. I'm still not sure if you're pulling my leg or not, but if you are truly what you say you are is this why you keep taking so many risks?"
Flins looked back. "Hmm? What risks?"
Illuga just hit him with a sad look, like he spilled his drink or something. "Sir Flins, please be careful regardless of what you are. Even if you're ultra invisible I don't like the idea of you getting hurt."
Flins turned back around and placed his hand on Illuga's head.
"My, you're so caring… how could I possibly refuse such a request when you make such a face?" His hand moved down to his chin and tilted his head up. "I promise, If that's what you wish."
They go back inside. Flins poured him a glass of water and sat across from him, watching as he sipped it and also stared back at him. "So what did you do for so long…" Illuga set the glass down.
"Sleep." Flins shrugged. Illuga sighed. "And yet you still look like you need more."
Flins sat back, placing his hand on his chest. "Master Illuga you wound me, however I don't believe you're one to comment on how tired another looks when we seem to be matching."
"Then why don't we both go to sleep?" That came out faster than he liked… that was meant to stay a thought…
"Sure." Flins said that way too fast. "There is only one bed here though."
"Sleep in your lantern."
"But who would keep you warm?"
"Sir Flins… you're very cold you know that?"
Flins forgot that… He stood. "Lantern it is then."
Illuga also stood. "Wait I was kidding when I said that— You can actually go in your lantern??"
Flins :3 face.
They went upstairs. They take a nap together. They are nice and cozy. Guess that's all it took to get either of them to take a nap.
