Haruno Sakura—the Haruno Sakura—became their sensei a week ago, and it took her exactly three days to make both Orochimaru and Jiraiya kiss the ground she walks on.
Tsunade understands, and if she's honest, she expected it. Sakura is amazing. She's a civilian by birth, just like her teammates, and all her power, which is considerable, was obtained through hard work. She's great-uncle Tobirama's star pupil, but she's also a legend in her own right, capable of leveling battlefields with one hand and healing a hundred people with the other. Some even whisper that the hat will fall on her head when her great-uncle retires.
She is also pretty, with pink hair and green eyes, and a cute diamond on her forehead like Grandma Mito's. However, the coolest thing is that she has muscles, and they're not exactly feminine, which Tsunade loves because it goes against everything her parents and clan elders keep telling her a woman should be. Sakura is pretty, yes, but she's not feminine, and she's rude, blunt, and a warrior, and she's not afraid to throw people who bother her across the village.
Tsunade isn't as fascinated by Sakura as her peers simply because Tsunade is in love with her.
Furthermore, it's perhaps worth noting that Sakura-sensei promised to marry her when she became a jounin, and Tsunade is determined to see that promise fulfilled, even if it was made when Tsunade was four years old.
Ha. Sakura-sensei was mistaken when she made that promise, hoping that Tsunade would forget about it over time. That promise is something she has fantasized about more than once, and Tobirama is just as excited as she is at the idea of the pink-haired woman officially becoming a Senju.
Tsunade will push Jiraiya and Orochimaru up to the jounin rank as quickly as possible, even if she has to haul them there kicking and screaming all the way. And with Haruno Sakura as their sensei, she knows they’ll get the promotion.
And then, then she will propose to her, Jiraiya and Orochimaru will be her bridesmaids, and she will officially marry the future Hokage.
