It's mid July. life is slow, weather is loose, summer smell is in the air. sun is setting so air is hot and humid yet still fresh and breezy. sun says goodbye to his people while playing colors in the sky. blue fades into orange and pink, clouds enhance the view making it breathtaking. indie band music blends with peoples laughter and chatter. glorious and shiny fireworks in the sky announce this festival that lasted all day finally coming to an end the boy you spend your day stands next to you silently while you both admire fireworks.
a hesitant hand find yours he brushes his fingers on the back of your hand. this little skin contact sends electricity through your whole body. his unsure hand finally holds your hand tight, this familiar warmth makes you feel safe. you don't look at him or flinch. you both hold each other hands ever since meeting in childhood. it surely shouldn't mean anything special but you felt it in your veins that this was not any ordinary touch. you could feel it in your heart in the air you breath in. you both knew it that this is not just any touch.
your heartbeat makes fireworks almost unhearble but somehow you are still able to recognize the love song that plays in the background. fresh breeze gently caresses your hair your, skirts end flutter, the smell of his familiar cologne brushes against your nose. all of these things mix with his warm hand and it makes you feel more alive. it makes you feel free. you wanna burst in laughther throw your hands up and shed your joy tears while screaming his name feeling his hands on your waist.
time moves so fast that you stay still. you hold your breath the world stays still for you while you try to take it all in and scrape every little detail in the depths of your mind. he really realizes ever so slight change in your breath. he takes a peek at you what he sees is your wide open eyes with sparks in them. he softly chuckles as he says something to you. you catch lilts of his unique voice and you turn your head to him he looks at you smiling with amused face. supernova like eyes reflects fireworks and sky while hiding a mystic meaning behind them. same gentle breeze brushes his hair off of his forehead, his hand tightens.
it was something you should've catch, something you can not afford to not-hear. your eyebrows arches in a questioning way. he just shakes his head no as he lower his head and closes his eyes. smile never fading from his lips, he looks up to the sky again. sky that now has fewer fireworks as sky completely turned into inky blue. you focus your gaze to his eyes, reflecting last fireworks as the his eye color paints them into something more unique...
