Chapter Text
Owen was floating in darkness. Or was he falling? Did it even matter? It was hard to tell. All he wanted to do was to let the darkness take over and finally let him rest. He had nothing left to exist for, even the thing he died for didn't matter anymore.
What was the point? What was the point of even feeling anything anymore? Why did it still hurt so much?
Owen couldn't stop himself from reliving that moment over and over again. Waking up, seeing a silhouette in the distance, seeing the sorrow on Louis' face. God! Even He was disappointed in him. Of all people Owen thought he would be the one person that would understand. To understand why Owen did everything he did for Louis.
But apparently even Louis was disappointed.
Owen screamed Louis’s name looking to find any relief from the pain that filled his heart. The pain that never seemed to leave. Not since they killed him all those years ago. But Louis would never hear his voice as the ground underneath Owens' feet broke apart in loud cracks drowning out his voice.
The worst part wasn't even the pain as the darkness tried to pull him down. It was that Louis never looked away. Not when screamed Owen screamed and cried out, trying to fight the darkness as it pulled him down. Not when Owen finally gave up and let the darkness take over. And the pity in Louis’s eyes was the last thing Owen saw.
And he couldn't stop thinking about it. He probably never would.

He kept falling. He didn't know how long it's been now. Hours? Days? Hm.. I guess he was used to this, considering he had spent so long in the dark alone before. It wasn't as bad as he thought it would be. At first he thought maybe they would send him down to the pits of hell to burn for all eternity. This was definitely not that. Or maybe he was just not there yet. Maybe the depths of hell he deserves was so far down it would take him days just to reach it.
Whatever this fall was, it made it a lot easier to give up. Easier to try to forget. Maybe he could finally fall asleep and forget all about this.
It was so quiet.
Every time Owen opened his eyes he was met with nothing but himself. His hair blows in his face as he falls. It wasn't the white he had started to get used to. Nor was it fully the dark brown he had lived with all his life. It had streaks of an off white in the curls. It probably looked nice. Maybe Louis could style it for him. He probably would have liked it.But he knew that would never happen now.
Owen would never see him again.
He fell for what felt like several more hours. Crying.
And then he wasn't falling anymore.
At first there was a crack as his back hit the ground hard. Then pain. The kind that filled your brain and made it impossible to think about anything else. It spread from Owens spine to throughout his entire body. He heard a loud noise and winced before he realized it was his own screen. Not that he could stop it. He couldn't even move.
“Owen?”
The voice was muffled both by his screaming and the pain that made it hard to take in any information.
“ W-what is he doing here?!”
The screaming slowly came to a stop. Not from the lack of pain but purely by the fact he didn't have any air left to scream out from. Owen struggled to move, struggled to breathe. Everything seemed to scream with even the slightest attempt to move. Yet somehow, Owen managed to open his eyes.
What he saw was blurry and slightly blocked by his own hair. But there were definitely two figures standing in front of him. Although the rest of the world seemed to be pitch black. One had white and brown hair like he did but definitely a fair bit shorter than Owens. Their hair was a lot choppier and definitely a fair bit straighter and the brown was definitely darker. They were wearing a black jacket and a red collar shirt as well as a fair bit of gold jewelry. Their outfit didn't match the rest of their appearance in the slightest. The other figure was blocked by his hair other than their feet which seemed to glow a harsh yellow light.
Owen was almost sure he recognized the first figure.
“So what's the point of bringing him down here with me? And what's up with the whole dramatically falling from the sky thing? Was that really necessary?”
The other figure spoke to the voice. Although Owen knew that they were talking he couldn't make out a single word. Odd. Maybe it was just from the pain.
“Is this because of what we did to Avid? Because I told you I'm not sorry about that. He was a liability at best. He would have betrayed us eventually! Or at least slowed us down!”
Wait! Was that…?
“Pyro?” Owen barely managed to speak louder than a whisper.
Pyro turned his head towards him. He looked almost annoyed to see him able to speak.
“oh hey, you're alive! Or well… I guess you're dead now, huh” Pyro said while walking towards Owen and sitting about a foot away from Owen. From where he was sitting he couldn't see Pyro's face.
“ How?” Owen asked in barely a whisper. It was weird really, Pyro was so used to being able to hear almost every little whisper but now it seemed like he had to put effort to hear just a single word.
“ How did I die?” Pyro asked. Owen made the smallest, weakest nod possible.
“Hm,” Pyro shrugged and pulled his legs closer to his body. The way he sat made him look a lot smaller than he really was. Owen remembered that he used to do that a lot in the early days of being a vampire. Like he was trying to take the least amount of space and time possible. He kind of reminded Owen of his younger self.
“ I-...I… I don't remember… I was in the castle. I know that. I know something happened, I was scared and that I was killed but other than that? No clue”

The other figure suddenly appeared in front of the two of them. They seemed almost transparent in a way. A harsh light glowed off of them and their form seemed to shift so that you couldn't get a good grasp of their space for more than a second.
“ Huh? What?” Owen mumbled “who?” He winced at another shot of pain through him as he tried to move his head more upright.
The figure moves towards them.
“ Oh right! I should probably fix that now shouldn't I? Can't have you like this forever, that would be boring!” It's voice seemed to be layered in some way, almost like multiple voices speaking on top of each other but the main voice itself sounded quite androgynous.
The figure quietly laughed to themselves.
They bent down and lightly tapped Owen on the back. The pain didn't go away all at once, but more in waves that seemed to travel across his body. Once the last of the major pain had disappeared Owen's body related a little and he let out of sight. The tears didn't stop though. He just laid there on the ground for a good minute.
“ Hm. Well, welcome to the afterlife Owen of Oakhurst! Hope you weren't expecting anyone else… special to be here with you.” They seemed to make a smug face at the last comment, although it was hard to tell from their shifting appearance.
That sick bastard.
Owen attempted to stand up but quickly collapsed back down. That seemed to take more energy than he thought. I guess he could wait to claw that guy's face off.
Pyro just sat there with his head resting on his knees. He didn't seem to have paid much attention after his death came up. He seemed to be deep in thought.
“ Pyro, darling, why don't you introduce Owen of Oakhurst here to the situation you two are now in?”
“ Hm? oh right yeah okay” Pyro flinched a little when it said their name. “ Wait Of Oakhurst? You don't have a last name?”
Owen scoffed “Not everyone is rich like you were”
“Oh right… well anyways like they said we died and now we're sent here, which is basically hell from my understanding. That over there is an angel or something that seems to be very keen on making our after lives torture.” Pyro glared at the angel.
“I do other things too” It seemingly glared back at them “but yes I also do that. And yes I am a minor angel whose job is to take care of you guys during the afterlife.”
“ What the hell do you mean take care of us?” Owen
“Well considering you two made some… questionable life choices it's my job to make sure your soul learns its lesson for the next time it enters the Earth.” The Angel said it as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.
“And that means?” Pyro asked
“ Well let me show you” The Angel said before snapping their fingers
“ Huh? What did you just-”
Pyro suddenly stopped mid sentence and fell to the floor.
“ Pyro? What-?
