Celebrating the caped hero who emerged from the city of metropolis

It's a bird...it's a plane...no, it's Supergirl!
Metropolitans and Cape lovers everywhere come together to celebrate their beloved hero known as Supergirl. By sporting the caped wonder's fashionable blue and reds, or even the iconic 'S' crest available on a variety of merch, Metropolitans showcase their pride for their city and their honorary mascot.
When Supergirl first emerged a year ago on this day, people were wary of what exactly she was capable of. Of course, Metropolis has been the victim of a multitude of villain attacks throughout the years.
However, when Supergirl made her debut by singlehandedly using her strength to keep the center skyscraper from toppling over innocents, a one-of-a-kind hope glimmered in people's hearts.
Ever since then, The Woman of Tomorrow has gotten busy reducing the city crime rate by a whopping 80%. She has defeated monstrous entities from demogorgans to low-level criminals who steal old lady's purses.
