"Hey, Gon." Killua was leaning over the railing and glanced over at Gon. "What're you gonna do after this ends?"
"Hmm. I haven't thought about it yet." Gon, similarly leaning over the railing, glanced upward.
"Whaddya say to traveling together again then?"
Gon looked back at Killua, surprise written in his eyes. He turned his body slightly towards Killua. "Yeah!" Gon answered enthusiatically. "It's sure to be a blast!"
"But this time..." Killua turned his body, looking Gon in the eyes, and softly grabbed his hand. "It won't just be until we reach a goal. But for the rest of our lives."
Gon's breath hitched. "Killua? What do you—"
"I want to stay with you. To always be by your side. Forever...and ever..." Killua began to trail off. He laced his fingers with Gon's.
Killua inhaled and exhaled slowly as he prepared himself. He let go of Gon's hand and pulled him close tightly with both arms.
"I don't want to leave your side again. I want to spend the rest of my life with you."
Gon could only look up at Killua, unable to react.
Killua pulled his right arm back and cupped Gon's face with his hand, gently caressing his cheek. He leaned down and pressed his lips tenderly to Gon's, savoring it for a short moment before he pulled away. He then rested his forehead on Gon's, and searched for an answer in his eyes.
Gon's face slowly dyed red, and he looked downward as he processed Killua's words and actions. After a few moments, he buried his face into Killua's shoulder and tightly gripped the front of his shirt. Gradually, he then moved his arms around Killua's waist.
"Me too." Gon's reply was simple, but conveyed his answer.
Killua embraced Gon tightly once more and snuggled his face into Gon's neck.
"Gon," Killua started, his breath slightly tickling Gon's neck, "I'm really glad that I met you."
They stayed that way for a while, taking in each other's warmth.
