beyond the plan! ||Doodle World

Summary:

An adventure the Player never really wanted, because she was too lazy… but still… this was the beginning of her life changing.

Notes:

HI HIIII, this is my first time writing a fanfic, so yeah, it might be a bit messy 😭 and oh yeah, I’m using the original Doodle World storyline where the Player’s mom forces her to join the Key Search Tournament, because I think it’s way more fun. So yeah, enjoy :3

Chapter 1: The beginning

Chapter Text

“Seriously, I have to join that search tournament?!” she complained in annoyance. Yup, the Player was being forced by her mom to join it.

“Come on, we’ll get to go on a vacation with the prize money, honey!” her mom said firmly, but gently.

The Player was annoyed that she had to enter the tournament, but she wanted to repay her mom for raising her.

“…Alright.” she agreed, giving in.

The next morning, the Player left her house carrying equipment that she thought was ridiculously heavy and totally useless… SINCE WHEN DID SHE HAVE TO BRING COOKING TOOLS AND SPICES??? But whatever—she said goodbye to her mom and headed out.

She walked toward the lab, which was strangely empty. Weird, since there should’ve been a lot of kids from her neighborhood joining the contest too—but she didn’t think much of it. She politely stepped inside.

“Um… hello? Is anyone here??” she said hesitantly.

Before she could think, a professor suddenly popped up—

“AHHHHHHH!!” the Player screamed in shock. She almost felt like her soul left her body.

The professor laughed and apologized.

“Hahaha, sorry, young lady… I just needed some entertainment after the last hour…” he said guiltily.

The Player straightened herself.

“I’m here to… get my first Doodle,” she said nervously.

“Oh, I guess that means you’re the last one… alright, come over here.”

The professor and the Player walked toward the Doodle printing machine.

“Please choose one of these Doodles, young lady.”

The Player looked at them in confusion… almost all of the Doodles weren’t what she was hoping for. But then she saw one—Tabbolt, an electric-type Doodle that looked mysterious.

“Oh, Tabbolt? That one’s hard to tame. You should probably pick something else, like Pupskey or Vipember—”

The Player cut him off.

“Tabbolt.” Her voice was full of determination and hope.

And so, the Player got her first Doodle—Tabbolt. When it came out, she picked it up with affection, though Tabbolt clearly didn’t like it.

“From now on, we’re partners! I’ll name you Kabel!” she said happily, until—

“GIVE ME THAT DOODLE!” shouted a boy around her age, about 15.

The Player looked at him. He had neat blond hair and a face that was… handsome? And he definitely looked like he came from a rich family.

Turns out he wasn’t alone—he was with an old man.

“Mr. Quincy… please don’t behave like that toward others…” the servant said tiredly.

“I DON’T CARE! YOU—YES, YOU—FIGHT ME! IF YOU LOSE, GIVE ME THAT DOODLE!” Quincy yelled, his face red with anger.

Wait… she had just gotten her first Doodle and now she was being forced into a battle?!

…Still, the Player accepted the challenge with a sly but brave smile.

“Shelldo, get out here!” Quincy shouted as he released Shelldo from its capsule with full-on rage.

A shell-wearing monster appeared—but for some reason, it looked super adorable.

“That’s your Doodle? It doesn’t look scary at all,” the Player said, confused.

“DON’T INSULT IT! NOW HURRY UP AND SEND OUT YOUR STUPID DOODLE!” he yelled angrily.

“Calm down, hothead—Kabel, go!” she said.

Kabel stepped forward lazily.

The professor tried to stop them.

“Please, kids… I don’t have the money to fix this building…” he said helplessly.

“SHUT UP,” Quincy snapped rudely.

And just like that, a small battle began.

Shelldo dashed toward Kabel with impressive speed, but Kabel dodged smoothly. Before the Player could even give a command, Kabel unleashed an electric attack—knocking Quincy’s Shelldo out and sending it back into its capsule.

The Player was overjoyed and hugged Kabel—but Kabel shocked her, showing he didn’t like that.

Quincy burst into laughter when he saw her get zapped.

“HAHAHA, SERVES YOU RIGHT! I SWEAR I’LL BEAT YOU NEXT TIME WE MEET!”

Before Quincy left, the Player shouted,

“HEY, I DIDN’T EVEN TELL YOU MY NAME! I’M THE PLAYER!”

But Quincy walked away without caring.

Before she fully left, the professor handed her five capsules to catch wild Doodles and five healing sprays.

And just like that, the Player’s adventure began!
