Out of all the things in the world, if there’s one thing that Megan can say that she’s proud of herself for, it’s that when she wants to achieve something, she does everything in her power to get it.
Whenever she isn’t satisfied with a performance, Megan spends most of her free time during rehearsal improving where she thinks she lacks in her moves. When she isn't able to answer someone’s question, she searches about it so she will know the next time someone asks her that same question. When she can't remember certain foods that she’s had before and craves it, Megan searches every store near her to find that food or she’ll ask one of her members. This might be something that has come from being a perfectionist, but it’s not like Megan minds it most of the time, in fact, it’s actually really useful! She can even say that it’s her talent at this point.
However, it seems like there is one specific thing that no matter how hard she tries, she can’t have; Megan wants to see Yoonchae pissed off.
It’s odd, and Megan knows it. Why would anyone want to see their significant other be upset?
Yoonchae is kind, loving, caring, and understanding. She might as well be called the embodiment of love itself. Everyday, Megan wakes up grateful that she’s in a relationship with someone who makes her feel at peace and loved. Megan genuinely loves her and wants the best for her, for them. Yoonchae makes her laugh, makes her smile, and protects her through everything rough that comes in their path.
A thought that has been bothering Megan for some time is that she can’t help but wonder how Yoonchae would act when she’s pissed at something, or rather, someone. Even though they’ve known each other for years now, Megan has never seen her truly mad, which is insane, considering how they literally experienced the living hell Dream Academy was and were fighting pre-debut era. Would Yoonchae just make a stone face? Would she say something bitter in response?
Megan wants to see how Yoonchae will act when she’s so pissed at something it makes her clench her jaw, ball her hand in a fist, and hold her tongue back from a snarky comment.
So, Megan is officially on a mission; she’s declaring it by writing it down in her notes:
Make Yoonchae Mad (For research purposes!)
Megan is not one to back down from a challenge, anyway. She will accomplish her goal, and she is willing to do whatever it takes to achieve it. It may be a little risky, but hey, in this case, she’s just a scientist in a lab, and Yoonchae is her experiment. An experiment she very much loves.
Plus, Megan secretly hopes Yoonchae looks hot when she’s ticked off.
Megan’s first attempt is to try to irritate Yoonchae when she’s hungry. Especially during practice.
Yoonchae is the type of person to not say anything when she’s hungry to refrain from snapping at someone. Megan has seen examples of this time and time again, how she’s moody until she gets food in her stomach, and figured this should be easy to use to her advantage.
“One more time! Positions!” Grant yells as the first few seconds of Gabriela start to play again. Megan looks at the clock and it’s currently five minutes past one, and she knows the hunger should start to kick in for Yoonchae since she last ate at around five in the morning. Nevertheless, Yoonchae is able to give it her all.
When they go on their fifteen minute break, Yoonchae takes a big sip of her water as she opens her phone, and Megan walks up behind her, placing her chin on Yoonchae’s shoulder. She presses a light kiss to her cheek, “Watcha doing?”
“Checking my messages. My dad sent me a photo of Oreo.”
“Is Oreo gaining weight again?” Megan says, even though she knows the answer because it’s obvious, expecting an exasperated look from Yoonchae.
“Yeah. My mom feeds her way too much. She’s so spoiled. Her favorite snack is those little Bulgogi Bites I bought her when we went to Korea.”
“Mhm, you know what I saw on Instagram this morning that reminds me of that? This really really good-looking meal from the Korean restaurant nearby. It’s a seasonal dish, I think. The kimchi and tteokbokki are even colored differently to match the aesthetic, just how you like it.” She smiles innocently.
Yoonchae gives her a certain look, a look that says please don’t bring up food right now. “What?” Megan responds. “I’m just stating a fact.”
“You’re going to be the death of me.” Yoonchae sighs, then lays down on the couch. “I’m starving and you know it.”
“Love you too.” Megan then basically skips over to the other members, “What do you guys think about it? Should we go soon?” Lara, Manon, Sophia, and Daniela all look at her like she’s crazy. Well, maybe she is.
Lara crosses her arms, “It’s like you want Yoonchae to snap at you.”
“She loves me too much for that,” Megan turns her head to look at her girlfriend slumped on the couch. “Right, babe?”
Yoonchae just pouts, “I’m hungry. And you’re not helping.”
But you’re not mad, which is what I want.
So that’s how Megan ends up sitting with the other four members, showing them photos upon photos of the new meals available at the restaurant, then she scrolls on TikTok for other meals inspired by it. Yoonchae pays no mind to her, and if she does, she chooses to not say anything. By the time their break is almost over, Megan hears her stomach rumble, and she realizes that karma has caught up to her. All this talk about food is now making her hungry, too. Fuck!
“Well well well.” Manon says. “Look what you did to yourself.”
Then she hears Yoonchae giggle behind her, “You’re so funny, Megan.” and Megan’s okay with accepting that she failed this time. She’ll just take Yoonchae out to eat at the restaurant once rehearsal is done.
Megan’s second attempt is when they’re cuddling and scrolling through social media together.
They had finally found time to spend some quality time together after their busy and intense schedules, so right now Yoonchae is resting the back of her head on Megan’s chest, sitting in between her legs as one of Megan’s arms wraps around her while the other one has TikTok open. There’s a bowl of popcorn sitting on Yoonchae’s lap as they eat and laugh together.
“What should we watch now?” Yoonchae asks as the tiktok about penguins starts to loop again.
“Grammy outfit rankings!” Megan says eagerly as she already starts typing with one hand. She smirks internally when Yoonchae turns her head and her eyebrows meet. Megan gives her an innocent smile, and Yoonchae’s only response is a sigh.
“You’re just choosing this so you can giggle and kick your feet at certain female celebrities while your girlfriend sits here.” Yoonchae tells her.
Megan gasps at her, pretending to be shocked, even going so far to dramatically put a hand on her chest. “Me? What are you talking about? I would never do such a thing.” She even frowns a little as a cherry on top for her acting. Maybe Megan should consider being an actress later down the line.
“You’ve literally told me that you’ve been doing this since you were a kid.” Yoonchae says, widening her eyes at Megan. And of course, Megan can’t help but think that she looks adorable, so she pinches her cheek before kissing it.
“None of them are as beautiful as you, though.” Megan admits, smiling at her. Yoonchae is unable to fight the smile that’s forming on her face because of that. Then Megan remembers she’s getting sidetracked. She's supposed to be making Yoonchae get upset! Ugh, whatever, it’s worth it to see her smile, anyway.
“You’re ridiculous.” Yoonchae mutters fondly, leaning her head back to Megan. She’s just happy to be spending time with her.
While they scroll together, both of them eat their popcorn in peace, and Megan’s actually intrigued by the fashion choice rankings until she remembers her plan once more.
Oliva Dean’s photo comes on screen, “Isn’t she really gorgeous?” Megan says with a certain tone in her voice, pretending to look at her screen intently, but she’s actually looking down at Yoonchae from her peripheral vision instead.
Yoonchae turns to look at her again, “Here you are, gushing over another woman with your girlfriend cuddled up to you.” Yes! Maybe her plan was working, after all.
“What? I’m just stating a fact. Do you think she’s not pretty?”
“Of course she’s pretty.”
“See,” Megan nods. “Exactly.”
Minutes pass as they continue to scroll through numerous TikTok’s showing off outfits with Megan commenting from time-to-time how pretty other women are, but Yoonchae isn’t showing any actual signs of getting annoyed because of jealousy. Damn, maybe Megan was approaching this the wrong way. She was deep in her thoughts until Yoonchae said, “Oh, Laufey really does look a lot like you, doesn’t she?” And now suddenly, Yoonchae is very focused on Megan’s phone.
How dare she.
“Yoonchae.”
“Hm?”
“Come kiss me.”
Yoonchae twists her body to connect their lips together like a jigsaw waiting to happen, and Megan sets the phone down on the blanket to cup her cheeks to properly kiss her, but Yoonchae pulls away before she can deepen the kiss. She gives her an evil grin before lifting up the phone and focusing on the TikTok once more.
Megan pouts as they scroll until her phone dies. When it does, Yoonchae asks Megan if she wants her to get her phone.
“Why?” Megan says.. “So you can watch more of Laufey?”
“Awww, are you jealous, jagiya?” Yoonchae giggles.
Megan scoffs at her before standing up and grabbing the now empty popcorn bowl so she can go wash the bowl in the kitchen. Megan leaves the room, and Yoonchae is right behind her, following closely. Megan’s placing the bowl in the sink to wash it when she feels arms around her waist, Yoonchae placing her chin on her shoulder. She smells like the ocean, like home.
“Why are you here and not watching Laufey?” Megan mutters, washing the bowl and trying her best to ignore Yoonchae’s presence. She smiles before placing her nose on her neck.
“I’d rather watch my girlfriend wash some dishes rather than watch her, or anyone else at that.” Yoonchae whispers before kissing Megan’s neck, and the latter can feel goosebumps on her skin. Megan smiles a little, then realizes that she failed with her mission again. Damn it.
It’s okay, she thinks, feeling Yoonchae place little kisses on her neck. She’s sure that she’s going to have other opportunities soon.
If this doesn’t work, Megan has no clue what to do anymore. She’s almost on the verge of giving up her plan entirely as she stands with her hands on her hips and looks at the pile of Yoonchae’s clothes in her room. Lately, Megan has been stealing Yoonchae’s clothes from her closet, grabbing her shirts, hoodies, and sweatpants. Since Yoonchae is a bit taller and her frame is able to hover over Megan, her clothes are a bit baggy on Megan. Megan just hopes Yoonchae would confront her about it and be irritated and kiss her until she can no longer feel her lips—
Wait, what?
Megan shakes her head before deciding on what to wear today, one of Yoonchae’s plain white t-shirts and her favorite leather jacket. She doesn’t have any more pants to wear, which is fine, she can just sneak into Yoonchae’s room later to steal some more. When Megan goes downstairs, she sees Manon, Sophia, Daniela, and Lara sitting together at the table.
Where’s Yoonchae?
“How come you’re wearing a leather jacket today?” Sophia says as she takes a sip of her coffee. “I get that you like this style, but it’s hot, isn’t it?”
“I felt like it.” Megan gives her a simple response, feeling herself begin to sweat a little. Sophia’s right, it is hot today. She wonders if the heat was messed with again. Megan wants to both kiss her own brain for coming up with such a plan to make Yoonchae mad or to smack herself for being dumb sometimes.
“Is Yoonchae still sleeping? How come she isn’t here yet?” Megan asks as she goes to the fridge, opening it to get a water bottle to cool down a little. Why is it so hot?
“Yoonchae’s in the laundry room, I think. I’m not too sure though.” Daniela replies.
“But it’s not laundry day?” Megan mumbles as she starts to head to their laundry room, but she stops in her tracks when Lara and Manon give her an exasperated look. “What?”
“Gee,” Lara begins, “I heard from the wind it’s because a certain someone has been stealing her clothes so she needs to wash something.” She taps her chin, acting like she’s deep in thought. Manon purses her lips to hold back her laughter. “Don’t you guys think so?”
Sophia, Daniela, and Manon nod their heads in agreement. Megan groans.
“What’s the point of this anyway? It’s like you want to see her with so little clothes on at this point.” Manon says just to get under her skin.
Megan almost spits out her water before glaring at her. “No! Are you crazy?” Megan raises her voice, sounding a little guilty even to her own ears. (So what if she intended to hit two birds with one stone today?) Daniela is already opening her mouth to give another teasing reply when Megan decides to leave the kitchen to go find Yoonchae.
When she arrives at the laundry room, she’s greeted with the sight of Yoonchae getting her clothes from the dryer and putting them in a basket. Instead of wearing her own clothes, Yoonchae is wearing one of Megan’s hoodies and a pair of her shorts, plus her glasses. Megan gulps. It takes a lot for Megan to remember why she’s here in the first place.
“Why didn’t you just tell me that you don’t have anything to wear anymore? You knew I kept stealing your clothes.” Megan says, going towards her. Yoonchae looks at her and smiles, pressing a quick peck to her lips.
“It’s not like I’m against you wearing my clothes. Plus, it gives me an excuse to wear yours, too.” Yoonchae tells her as she walks out the laundry room and heads towards her room, Megan tailing behind her.
“Why aren’t you against me stealing all of your clothes? Does it not bother you?” Megan asks as she closes the door behind them when they both enter Yoonchae’s room.
“Why would it bother me? I love seeing you in my clothes.” Yoonchae says casually as she folds her clothes. When she’s done, she gets to work on putting them away.
Megan doesn’t register what she said until a few moments later, “What?”
“I love seeing you in my clothes, they look better on you.” Yoonchae walks towards Megan with her hands in her sweatshirt pockets. Megan looks at her dumbly, not knowing what to say as Yoonchaw cups her cheek. She smiles at her, “You don’t have to wear the jacket today though, it’s pretty hot, isn’t it?”
Oh, it’s hot alright, Megan thinks, but she isn’t sure if she’s pertaining to the weather or to Yoonchae. Megan shakes her head, “I’ll go get some of your clothes so I can give them back to you.”
Yoonchae hums, “Not that I mind, but why did you get them in the first place?” Yoonchae gives her a confused look.
Because I thought you could finally get mad at me. “I also like how I look in your clothes. They fit me well.” Megan smirks at Yoonchae before leaving her room.
Megan finds herself pacing her room, thinking of other ways on how to make Yoonchae mad. However, she can’t seem to formulate any new thoughts. This can’t be! Megan sits down on the edge of her bed and sighs frustratedly, thinking of whether or not she should continue on her mission. Megan’s having a battle inside her head when she hears someone knock on her door. She sighs before standing up and opening the door, not expecting to see Yoonchae.
“Why are you here? What’s wrong?” Megan questions as she opens the door a little wider to let her in.
Yoonchae walks inside, “I just want to see you,” She says gently, looking at her carefully. Megan looks at her and thinks if she ever gets mad. Is she a robot?
“Why are you asking?” Yoonchae asks her, her eyebrows somewhat furrowed in confusion. Megan looks at her all confused, not knowing what she’s referring to.
“Huh?”
“You just asked me if I ever get mad, why are you asking?” Yoonchae tells her.
Fuck! Megan didn’t realize she had said that out loud. She contemplated in her head different ways to get out of this situation before she accepted that maybe she should just ask Yoonchae. “I never see you get mad, like, ever! It’s like you’re incapable of getting pisssed off.”
Yoonchae laughs softly, “Of course I get mad, jagiya.”
“Then why do I never get to see it? We’ve known each other for years now.”
“Because I never need to get mad when I’m with you, Megan. You manage to calm me down, no matter the situation, even if you don’t play a direct role. That’s probably why you’ve never seen me mad or pissed off.” Yoonchae says, smiling at her girlfriend.
“Aww,” Megan makes a sad face, then leans into Yoonchae’s touch as she wraps her arms around her waist, hugging her. “Me too, Yoonchae.” That earns her a forehead kiss.
After a bit, “Sorry that I did things on purpose just to make you mad.”
Yoonchae pulls back and raises an eyebrow, “What do you mean did things on purpose to make me mad?”
Megan gulps, looking away from her and focusing on the wall behind Yoonchae. Yoonchae tries to follow her gaze, but Megan avoids it with everything in her. However, it’s as if Yoonchae is able to read her mind, because suddenly she starts walking forward, making Megan walk backwards until the back of her legs hit the bed and she falls on her back on the bed. Yoonchae’s frame is able to hover her just perfectly, placing her hands on both sides of Megan’s head and her hair curtaining them in.
“Were you hoping that I would do this?” Yoonchae grins, that damn grin, and of course Megan decides to look anywhere else but her, but Yoonchae holds her chin and makes her look at her.
“Jagiya, come on, answer me.” She says intently.
“Yes,” Megan whispers, gulping under the hard gaze of her girlfriend.
“Yes what?” Yoonchae asks, her grin widening by the second.
“Yes, I was hoping you would get mad and do something like this to me, okay?” Megan says as she glares at her for making her say it. Upon hearing that, Yoonchae removes her finger on her chin before her hands grab Megan’s wrists, pinning them both above her with one hand, while her other hand holds her waist.
“Like this?” Yoonchae asks. Megan hums to confirm.
Yoonchae brings her face closer to hers, lips ghosting on her lips a little before she speaks again. “You don’t need to make me mad for me to do this, jagiya. All you needed to do was ask. I’ll give you everything you want, anyway.”
Megan stares at Yoonchae intently, waiting for her to make the next move, eyes faltering to her plush lips every few seconds. She must’ve asked Sophia if she could borrow her lip gloss. Yoonchae smiles as she catches the glances, soon connecting their lips in a few soft pecks before trailing the kisses down Megan’s jaw and onto her neck. Megan tilts her head to the side in response, allowing her girlfriend to explore while absolutely relishing in the feeling. Yoonchae can smell her own scent of her perfume on Megan increasing with each inch closer she gets to the neckline of the leather jacket. The sight of kissing Megan being in her jacket is enough to turn her brain to mush.
She continues painting Megan’s neck with warm wet kisses, being careful enough to avoid leaving marks so they wouldn’t get scolded by their stylists and be caught by the members. Megan lets her hands roam to Yoonchae’s back, letting her hands slip under the fabric and slide against the soft material as their bodies connect habitually. She gets impatient, so Megan’s quick to move her lips against Yoonchae’s, hungrily lapping at her.
Everytime Megan tries to deepen the kiss, Yoonchae always pulls away just to mess with her.
Megan tries to move her wrists from her grasp to remove her hold of her and get Yoonchae’s attention, but she’s unable to move. “Why are you trying to get away?” Yoonchae asks.
“Kiss me properly.” Megan tells her.
“Always so demanding.” Yoonchae says before kissing her again, properly this time.
In between kisses, “If you seriously do want to see me pissed off, just watch me and Sophia play overcooked. I don’t think I get more mad at anything else then failing at a stupid video game.”
I’ll surely remember that, Megan thinks before she kisses her again.
