“You're telling me. That you came here all along from monastery to Merlopia is to ask me to go on an undercover mission?” Benthomaar asked Lloyd who arrived alone in the kingdom as lots of maids and guards saw them in the middle of the throne room. Most of them were the maids whispering gleefully seeing the two.
“I know this is sudden but! I need your help for this mission, apparently we need someone with a higher hierarchy to enter this gala. And well we thought why not help us?” Lloyd said with a bashful expression as he scratched his neck, feeling himself getting warmer. This just made Bentho confused as he remembered quietly that Lloyd is basically a higher level than him.
So then he asked, “why not ask Vania instead? I mean she's a princess and a queen of Shintaro. But why me?” Then Lloyd tried to find a right answer to his question, “Well… she's– uh busy with something and beside Cole already asked her that and she said she can't. So you're our next option??” still that answer wasn't very straightforward or even subtle. Which was a very vague answer to Bentho's mind.
“Me? Then what's the problem of the mission that needs me to go with you?” He asked, friendly enough, that he smiled where it didn't reach his eyes. And Lloyd then suddenly beamed in bashfulness to answer, “oh! The mission is actually at a gala and that's why I'm asking you if you want to be my fake partner? As in… what Zane said is for a romantic one?” He asked again, now that made Bentho freeze in his place.
The maids and guards were whispering right now, seeing how close the two are. Which is just for formality.
The thing is, Bentho needed to clear things up quickly because apparently he was already dating someone else and he didn't want to make his boyfriend upset about it. And his boyfriend in question is Scott. Shocker, that he hasn't told anyone that he and Scott are dating now, and Lloyd also didn't know anything about it.
“Look… Lloyd, that's a lovely request. But, I already have a boyfriend… and the thing is I didn't want to make him upset? By you asking me that… it's going to be awkward” he said truthfully enough as Lloyd's face suddenly faltered. “Who?” Is Lloyd's only question.
Just as he was about to answer, there was someone else's voice calling out to him. “Benthomaar! Are you ready to go out tonight?” Scott's voice could be heard as he walked to the throne room and saw Lloyd was also there.
“Did I interrupt something? Why is the green ninja here?” Scott asks while he walks closer to Benthomaar and even slips his hand with him. “Hi Scott… It's been a while. Wait, are you two.. dating?” Lloyd then asked him in surprise and didn't notice Scott and Benthomaar were close.
“Yeah, we've been dating for a year. Why?” he asked Lloyd in question, didn't like how the sounds of it. “Nothing! Congrats you two! Uhm… I'll just leave you to be then!” With that Lloyd immediately fled in embarrassment, that made Bentho let out a small chuckle and Scott looking confused by what just happened.
“Did I say something wrong?” Scott looks at bentho who just laughs freely now. “No no, don't worry about it! It's just Lloyd was about asking me to go on a gala for a mission as his romantic partner. I couldn't tell him how to reject it, since I'm dating you and we are dating in secret. And also didn't want to make you sound mad” Benthomaar explained and that made Scott chuckle a little.
“I feel bad for him, I didn't mean to make him feel like that. Maybe I should apologize to him later” Scott then said as Benthomaar quickly gave him a small kiss that Scott immediately melted into the kiss.
“Maybe later. Also we need to announce it to the other about it” Bentho teased his boyfriend and Scott just laughed at it.
Maybe they need to tell this immediately as not to make it more into misunderstanding or even anything that goes wrong.
