A Keychain Nobody Else Wants

Summary:

A one shot about something unimportant.

Notes:

First entry on here and I did it for writing class that's kinda embarrassing!! But like I would never finish something on here if I do it myself so good enough I suppose (at least now I'd have one(1) completed entry or whatever)
Sorry for bad grammar or anything else, I kinda wrote this off the bat so apologies if there's ooc stuff

Work Text:

"This is a terrible idea."

A blonde man took a long sigh, and shut the door behind him.

The other guy in the back seat disagreed, shaking the keychain in his hand violently, "Not at all it isn't?! Do you know how hard it is to get your hands on one of these?"

"I don't want my hands on this thing."

"Come ON, it's like a limited edition or something, I've seen it sold for bucks!"

"And? It's not going to pay for our lunch."

"It can, just let me put it on eBay."

"I highly doubt it'll actually sell."

"Just you wait."

"Whatever," the blonde dude got on with driving, leaving the guy in black jacket and grey hoodie to shoot photos for that cartoon keychain.

"Adam?Remember that keychain?"

"Hate that I do. Did you sell it?"

"Nope, I got attached to it. Off-sale it went!"

The blonde guy that answered to the name "Adam" rolled his eyes.

"Great, so you chose that over actual money, and now we're going to starve."

"We were barely getting anything anyway, I'd say this is still better! Like a trinket to remember an event by."

"Jonah... We spent a whole afternoon running around a house and cleaning it in the process because of that 'the ghost hates dirt' bullshit. It's basically glorified chores and we didn't get anything out of it."

Jonah chuckled as he took another slice out of the pizza box, "yeah, that was kinda funny."

"It's not. We wasted our time."

"I wouldn't say it's a waste," he said as he pulled the keychain out of his pocket, the grease on his fingers rubbed off onto the metal, "we still got this thing."

"I don't want it."

"Well too bad! You're stuck with it now."

"I hate you."

"Love you too baby girl."

In a dark room, Adam went through some of the old stuff in his drawer. Outdated pizza coupons, useless recipes of useless things, memory cards with junk footage in them...

That keychain sat there, eyes locked at the being that is glancing over it, who then noticed that it was there.

A note was stuck to it. He picked it up and read it.

"heyyyyy adamm so I sorta sneaked this here just to haunt you in case you ever want to move on to other men haha jk so like dont get mad or anything but I was thinking I could like give something to you but like in a platonic way or whatever and it's kinda awkward so I put this here haha here's my contact to commit to the bit xoxo"

Below was a contact of someone who won't use it anymore. There's no need to add that again.

Adam took a closer look at the keychain. It's surprisingly clean, someone took care of it well enough.

Then he tossed it away.
