After rescuing a terrified, battered Terapagos named Pagogo from the brutal clutches of her adopted family—Razor the Absol and Fang the Torcat—Lightning faces his hardest challenge: healing a heart that refuses to trust. Haunted by the silence of her only defender, Silver the Pawniard, Pagogo flinches at every touch.
