Work Text:
It had been the fourth planet Marx had destroyed. It
was so beautiful seeing the chaos and devastation,
what fun! Sometimes he would destroy it through
sheer power, other times he’d spread lies to make
everyone tear each other apart. As he walks through
the smoke and cracks of a once thriving planet, he
spots one lifeform, a butterfly.
Marx giggled, spotting the pest, “Has my fun finally
upset you? I only wanted to have a little freedom,”
The orange insect landed right across Marx.
“I’m not a fool, I read all about Nova! You really
think I wouldn’t know about you?”
The Butterfly revealed its true form, Morpho Knight,
a being of divine judgement. A being created by the
universe to be a manifestation of consequence, and
death. The knight pointed their sword to the slimy
jester.
The Celestial being spoke, “Marx of Popstar, your
chaos has destroyed planets. You stole powers that
were not yours to grasp. Tried to destroy your own
home by using Kirby of the stars. MADE yourself a
god and cheated death itself, your existence is a
crime,”
The jester of chaos just smiled, “And? Am I
supposed to be threatened? Little butterfly,
judgement is nothing to me! Judgement is an
illusion! My existence proves that! I’M A GOD!”
The knight was disgusted, “You will avoid me no
more. You will face the consequences of your actions
by facing my blade. Your delusion of freedom is just
to hurt others you deem lesser than,”
Marx's face soured, this butterfly was annoying.
Divine judgement? HA! He lost to Kirby and still was
able to continue his tirade by destroying other
planets. Death looked him in the eyes and he STILL
thrived! He defied destiny and spit in its face.
The jester responded, “You bore me, your foolish
talk of divine intervention is ridiculous. Look around
you! This is the fourth place I messed around in. The
best part? I’ll keep going! How much chaos can I
cause? How many more lives can I manipulate and
torture? The possibilities are endless! You will not
ruin my party, little pest~,”
The knight scoffed at the creature's ego, “So be it,
face your consequence,”
Morpho Knight struck the ground with the fury of a
thousand suns, tornados swarming, threatening to
approach Marx. He laughed as if it was some game
while teleporting away from the attack.
“Finally some fun!” The jester attempted to kick the
butterfly but he dodged swiftly.
The knight enlarged his sword, “You are a disgrace!
How dare you attempt to avoid your judgement,
your destiny! I will make sure your death is as
painful as the torture you inflicted upon others,”
The sword sliced through Marx's body, the jester
cried sarcastically, “Oh boohoo! I’ve been hit!
Whatever shall I do?” Marx ripped his gooey body,
opening a black hole.
Morpho Knight swiftly avoided the trap, “Such cheap
tricks, fight me fairly!”
Marx laughed maniacally, “Oh come on! Tricks and
lies are my thing! Fighting fair is too boring,”
Morpho Knight threw more swords, “You treat life
like a game! Stop avoiding me and face your
judgement, you clown!”
Marx got hit by one of the swords while he laughed
at the pain, he lunged at the butterfly.
“LIFE IS A GAME! I CHEATED DEATH! I KILLED
BILLIONS! JUDGEMENT WILL NEVER END ME! YOU
WILL NEVER END ME!” He dragged the knight
through the ground, “HA HA HA! DON’T YOU SEE? I
AM A GOD! I’M MORE POWERFUL THAN YOU, THE
EMBODIMENT OF CONSEQUENCE!”
The Butterfly groaned, “You…,”
“THERE IS NOTHING THAT CAN STOP ME,
NOTHING,”
The butterfly closed his eyes in irritation and
teleported away from the demon, "Perhaps, I was
wrong, battle and death is not your consequence,”
Marx laughed believing in his victory, “Exactly! Now
if you excuse me I have places to be-,”
The Butterfly interrupted in a booming voice,
“Judgement and consequence show in many forms,
your divine judgement is not my blade but your own
pain,”
The Jester was puzzled, “What are you blabbing
about?”
“You will suffer in eternal loneliness, no way to die,
no one to care. You have caused your own eternal
suffering, you will never be satisfied with the lives
you take because every moment you exist, you will
feel the pain of only being known…as the fool who lost
to the child of the stars,”
Marx's rage ignited, “You…YOU! YOU HAVE NO IDEA
WHAT YOU”RE SAYING!”
The butterfly pointed his sword at the demon, “Your
consequence is the suffering of living since you
cannot die, knowing you will never achieve your
galactic ambition because of the one who defeated
you. That is my final judgement!”
The Knight faded back to its insect form, fluttering
away. Marx struck the ground with his claws in a fit
of anger.
“SHUT UP! SHUT UP! YOU STUPID PEST! YOU LIAR! I
CAN DEFEAT THAT KID IF I WANTED! I’LL KILL HIM!
I’M NOT SUFFERING! I’M NOT ALONE! YOUR
JUDGEMENT IS FALSE,” He laughed “YES! YOU’RE
JUST MAD YOU LOST AND NOW YOU’RE MAKING
STUFF UP! YOU STUPID BUTTERFLY! I’LL RIP YOUR
WINGS!”
Marx struck the ground over and over again in rage,
knowing the truth, that the Butterfly of Judgement
doesn’t lie.
“DAMN YOU. DAMN YOU. DAMN YOU!”
Divine intervention made by Marx’s own making, no
matter what he does, he will never achieve ultimate
power. He will only be known as the lonely jester
who lost to Kirby for all his immortality.
No…no! He WILL defy this! That foolish insect is an
idiot! He WILL break his chains, he WILL achieve his
galactic ambition.
He will destroy judgement.
