Chapter Text
Morning on Berk was becoming suffering increasingly,And it became all the worse when hiccup woke up everyday to once again realize his father was dead.
And while hiccup had learned to slowly adapt to the feeling,it made it hurt no less to realize that he still lost one parent.
"Hiccup? Sweetheart, are you in there?" A soft voice came through the door,It was His Mom.
"Yeah,I'm awake." He called out as he pulled the covers away and jumped out of bed,his metallic leg clicking softly on the floor.
"Well,if you're awake, you should come outside,we have something to tell you." She called back, her voice echoing in the otherwise silent house.
Hiccup groaned in frustration as he tugged on his green tunic before pulling on his armour, running a hand through his auburn hair, trying to keep the messy tangles look presentable.
Finally,he left his house and found His mother talking to gobber, looking rather serious and a bit nervous. "What's all this about?" Hiccup asked curiously, leaning against a wall.
Valka and Gober exchanged a look before valka stepped forward, her hands coming to rest on Hiccup's shoulders. "My son, this might upset you but..."she sighed as she looked down.
"we've arranged your marriage to the daughter of Arthur Lorisenity."
The words hit hiccup like a ton of bricks. He looked at his mother, then at Gober. Shocked,at how this could even happen. Angry,at the fact his own mother arranged his marriage to the daughter of his father's murderer.
"I can't believe you would do this,Mom!" He snapped as he stepped back, clearly angry and in disbelief. "You really think I'm going to marry the daughter of the murderer of my father?" He asked her as he shook his head, his lip curling in disgust.
"Hell No!"
His voice was firm and absolute,he wasn't going to marry the daughter of Arthur Lorisenity,no matter the situation.
Gober stepped forward, looking at hiccup as the man crossed his arms. "It ain't a choice anymore, hiccup. We've already fixed the date." He said and Hiccup's eyes widened at those words.
His marriage? Already fixed? The thought was disturbing.
"You're lying." Hiccup mumbled, looking straight into Gobers eyes. "You seriously fixed the date? Without even asking what I wanted?!" He yelled, his hands on his hips.
Valka looked away, unable to meet Hiccup's accusing gaze. "I'm sorry, but we have no choice. They're threatening to destroy Berk,Hiccup." She whispered and Hiccup tensed up. "We can't handle that, not again." She added.
Hiccup sighed as he pinched the bridge of his nose, clearly torn between the severity of the situation. One part was furious at his mother to even believe that he would marry his daughter, while the other pat understood she did it out of no choice.
"When's the wedding?" He asked softly, taking a deep breath to calm himself down. He shifted slightly, his peg leg making a click sound.
"Tomorrow." Gober said gruffly, his expression solid yet filled with a quiet exhaustion. "C'mon, you gotta understand. You're 23,old enough to be married. Besides, nobody told you to love his daughter." He commented. "Just keep your distance if that's what it takes."

Hiccup sat on the edge of a small cliff up above Berk, the sun was setting, painting the sky in hues of orange and yellow.
"I can't just marry a girl I just met..." He muttered to himself, shaking his head to try and banish such thoughts. He didn't even know her name, just knew she was a Lorisenity.
He looked down at his right arm as he tugged his sleeve up, revealing the intricate snowflake mark on his wrist. He had gotten it after enduring an attack from the ice of the bewilderbeast.
what if I find the person who has the magic? Can I finally be the anchor gothi told me I'd be? He thought to himself but was interrupted as he heard a low rumble coming from beside him.
He turned to face toothless, his loyal companion sitting and looking intently at his prosthetic leg. "You want this, bud? Go,Fetch!" He said with a little smile as he took his leg off and threw it north.
Toothless immediately rushed after to grab the leg, chewing on it blissfully like it was the finest nectar.
Hiccup chuckled as he watched his buddy bounce around on his paws before settling down beside him, spitting the peg leg back in his lap. Hiccup made a little annoyed face before he put the leg back in place.
"Let's just hope the daughter of Arthur won't try to test my patience" he said to toothless, who let out a grumble as if saying 'are you serious?'
Hiccup snickered as he looked out the horizon again, the sun had set and the moon was starting to come out. Well, tomorrow would be a new day,and a new chapter for him.
"we'll meet soon, Daughter of Arthur."
