Loyalty pays off in full

Summary:

"The whole world will be consumed by us, Harry! They will see what they wanted to see. We will do everything for the magic society."

For the Greater Good.

Notes:

what is it like to connect two couples that are more similar to each other than anything else?
it's amazing!
I was thrilled to write this, and I've always had an idea for a "blood pact" in my head, but unfortunately, I'm not good at writing long chapters, so I've condensed this idea into a short text.
(I hope someone will write a full-fledged fanfiction based on my idea)

Work Text:

"The whole world will be consumed by us, Harry! They will see what they wanted to see. We will do everything for the magic society."

For the Greater Good.

Albus heard it. Oh God, he had already heard those words, words that pleased his soul and his ego. The words that attracted him to change the world. But for what? He and Gellert were young, stupid, and arrogant. But the difference was that Gellert was more cunning, more ruthless. But Albus was still fascinated by this zeal on Gellert's part. No one had ever hooked him like that.

Dark nights that clung to the morning. Their sweet days spent exploring magic, themselves and others. Gellert's gentle hands touched Albus, and it was as if all the power was absorbed into him. Albus was just absorbing.. absorbed and absorbed..

But it was too late.

Ariana's death was a blow, a blow to his self-esteem, love and naivety of the "Greater Good" that they had planned together. The broken nose served as a reminder of the power of where stupidity and naivety can lead.. and love.

And again, seeing these boys in the hallway and hearing Tom's words, he feels uneasy. Will Harry's naivety lead to the same thing Albus was drowning in? Time will tell, but for now Albus turned around and walked into the darkness hiding the pain in his face and the devotion of his heart. It wasn't until the next morning that he realized his mistake when he saw Harry's pendant of vast power, which had once led Albus himself into a dead end.

And destroyed his faith in man.
