Work Text:
Caleri looked over at Kenyatta, smiling slightly though she was prepared to hide it if Kenyatta looked up, but the girl was absorbed in the text. She had begrudged her orders to tutor Kenyatta in the beginning; when she hadn’t taken lessons seriously Caleri had scarcely seen the point. But lately her healer’s path had changed her. She still resisted studying the politics her mother insisted on, but her healing studies flourished, and it was clear already that she would be a fine one. It would have surprised Caleri, when the tutoring began, but now? Caleri was proud of her.
