Chapter 1: Black hole anatomy

Chapter Text

Log 1: 1/22/2026

From the inside out, Black hole has an inner core, a core, skin, a shell, and an accretion disk.

  • The inner core is where his life force and brain is; if it were damaged, he would die.
  • The core is where all of Black Hole's internal functions take place, such as digestion. The core glows a dark blue, turns glows white when in small amounts, and acts like a liquid when exposed to air. This makes up the majority of Black Hole's mass.
  • The skin is a squishy, light-absorbing film that covers and contains the core. The skin also absorbs all matter that makes it through the shell and is where the hearing is stationed, giving him a hard time hearing through the shell.
  • The shell is a thick, solid covering that protects the inner layers. The shell is also light-absorbing, and is where sight and speech are based. Black Hole can see through every outer inch of his shell, therefore having no blind spots, and often says he didn't see something to make the person feel better.
  • The accretion disk marks the boundary of where his gravitational pull starts, and Black Hole can manipulate the shape of his accretion disk to reach things. If something enters his gravity at a speed/angle that would make it hit his shell, part of his shell in that spot disappears, allowing him to absorb the intruding thingy.

The accretion disk is the only part of Black Hole that isn't part of his orb, which is the term for his main body.
