Chapter Text
Prologue
“Steady…” a voice murmured.
the winds of truth fell beneath the two.
“Steady…” the voice repeated.
a cold, harsh wind crashed into them.
hands shaking, the boy gripped the gun tightly. “Steady…”
BAM!
he shot through a mannequin. wiping a bead of sweat off his forehead, he sighed. “great…”
“you know the deal!” a man chimed in. the other male, relentless, determined to not be so shaky next time around, he smirked. “the “deal”? please, you can’t order me to do nothin’.”
“eh?” a sharp groan.
that boy, that gambler,
punched the man in front of him with full force. waving his gun around like a charity award, he heard a familiar snap behind him.
“…seriously?” he asked, turning around. a tall, brooding man with a black fedora and formal suit on towered over the boy.
“Chance,” the man spoke,
that was the gamblers name,
“we’ve spoken about no violence unless absolutely necessary.”
“yeah, yeah…it was a one time deal, man,” chance defensively held his hands up, his voice laced with sarcasm. “it won’t happen again.”
“it better not. you know im always watching, right?” the taller man grabbed chance’s shirt collar, bringing him close. “always on you.”
“…i cant tell if you mean that in a suggestive way, or…”
“you sicken me,” the man let go of chance.
“…just don’t cross any lines, and we’re cool.” and with that, he walked off.
…chance then eyed a certain slot machine nearby.
he noticed a few screws loose.
“…don’t worry, i won’t.”
