Nirei has a problem. It’ll soon be Suo’s birthday, and he is still unsure what to get his boyfriend. They’ve been dating for two months now but Suo is still just as mysterious as ever.
Nirei feels too bad to ask Suo what he wants for his birthday. Since he’s his boyfriend, shouldn’t he already know stuff like this? Everything he knows that Suo likes, Suo already has.
It won’t be good to get him something he already has. He’s planning on keeping the birthday present a surprise too, so if he asked, Suo would immediately know why.
Nirei sighed for the millionth time that day, head in his hands.
“Yooo, Nirei, something up? You look troubled”
Nirei looked up from his hands to see who’s talking to him, it’s Tsugeura.
“Ahaha, good afternoon, Tsugeura-san! No need to worry about me, it’s not really anything serious!” Nirei replied, waving his hand around.
Tsugeura brought his chair over and plops it down in front of Nirei’s desk.
“You don’t look fine though, even if it’s something small, I’ll try my best to help you! That’s one of my virtues after all! So come on! Lemme hear it.”
Nirei thinks about it for a bit, maybe if he doesn’t know what to get, his friends may have good ideas. It wouldn’t hurt to ask.
“Tsugeura-san, can you keep what I’m about to ask you a secret?”
“Oh huh? Sure”
Nirei takes a deep breath and looks around to see no one else is listening in on their conversations, Nirei whispers. “It’s Hayato-san’s birthday in a few days, and I still don’t know what to get him, do you have any ideas? “
“Ohhh, a birthday gift for Suo, huh”
“Yup”
“Why don’t you get him new weights or something?? I think that would be a fantastic gift!!” Tsugeura says proudly.
“...”
Are you sure that’s not what you’d like???
“Hayato-san wouldn’t be interested in that,” Nirei replies.
“He wouldn’t? Aw that sucks. What about headbands or wristbands, I think that’ll look good on him!”
That's NOT Hayato’s style at all???
“Ahahaha, ermmm I don’t think he would wear that.” Nirei mutters to himself.
“What was that??” Tsugeura asked.
The more Nirei thinks about it, Tsuegeura was not the right person to ask for help, after all, Suo can’t stand Tsugeura.
“Ahhhh, thank you for your help, Tsugeura-san, I have more ideas now, I’ll talk to you later!!” Nirei quickly says, as he stands up and then walks out the room.
It’s fine, If Tsugeura can’t help, he has other friends! There might be a chance there! Nirei takes out his phone and looks for Kiryu’s contact and texts him.

“Nirei-chan, over here, over here!” Kiryu calls.
The two are currently at a nearby cafe. When Nirei asked to talk to Kiryu, Kiryu offered for the two to meet here.
Nirei saw Kiryu sitting at the corner and walked over.
“Thanks for meeting me here, Kiryu-san!!” Nirei says as he bows.
“Come on, don’t be so formal, sit, sit, sit” Kiryu urged the seat in front of him.
As Nirei sat down, Kiryu continues: “So what does Nirei-chan want to talk about, it’s not often just the two of us talk”
“Ah, so it’s like this-”
Nirei continues to explain his problem with not knowing what to get Suo.
“Yup, So I wanted to ask around for advice, and I asked Tsugeura-san earlier, and he was really no help at all!”
Kiryu nods.
“But Nirei-chan, I’m sure Suo-chan would be happy with anything you get him, that guy is so down bad, you can just write your name down on a crappy piece of paper and give it to him and he’ll still be grateful!”
Nirei shakes his head frantically.
“ I can’t do that..”
“You’re right, you’re right” Kiryu continues to think.
Thinking that Kiryu doesn’t have any ideas either, Nirei was just about to thank Kiryu for his time and get up to leave, when Kiryu suddenly stops him.
“Hmmm, how about this then, Nirei-chan! Recently, I've been playing this one game, right? and the MC in the game I was playing, said this one thing to one of the love interests and it was superrrr romantic! ”
Kiryu pulls Nirei closer.
“Lend me your ear real quick, tell him this for his birthday and I’m sure he would be super happy” Kiryu says while smirking.
Nirei listens closely as Kiryu whispers to him what he should say.
The longer Kiryu talks, the redder Nirei gets, until Nirei can’t take it anymore. He slams down on the table.
“THAT’S TOO EMBARRASING, NOOO” Nirei yells as he stands up and runs out of the cafe. He can hear Kiryu laughing uncontrollably behind him.
“Nirei-chan, you’re too shy!!!!” Kiryu says in between laughs, unable to stop.
Nirei huffs, as he closes the door, Kiryu is no help either. That only leaves one person that he’s close with he could ask.
Sakura-san.

Nirei now stands in front of Sakura’s apartment. He had texted Sakura earlier, asking if he could talk to him about something related to Suo. Sakura ended up never responding to him, so he just decided to show up at his apartment.
Knock Knock.
After a few seconds of no one opening the door, Nirei was wondering if no one was at home?
However, school just ended a while ago and they didn’t have patrol today, so technically he should be at home. Nirei was just about to knock again when he heard a loud noise coming from inside the apartment.
THUD
Then he heard loud cursing coming from inside, so that confirms it, Sakura indeed is home.
Worried that something bad happened to Sakura, Nirei didn’t wait for Sakura to open the door and just ran inside, the lock was broken anyways.
He runs into Sakura’s bedroom, “S-S-SAKURA- SAN, ARE YOU OKAY????”
“STOP YELLING DAMMIT” Sakura yells back.
Sakura is currently lying on the floor, trying to get up. Nirei gives Sakura a hand, pulling him up.
“So what happened?” Nirei inquires.
“N-nothing much, wasn’t expecting anyone to knock, was surprised and fell off my bed”
“I texted you, why didn’t you check your phone?”
“Broke it during my fight this morning…”
“...”
“A-ANYWAYS, what are you doing here???”
Nirei scratches his head and sighs. “So it’s about Hayato-San…”

“What to get Suo for his birthday???”
“Yes”
“.... and why ask me…,” Sakura grumbles.
“Why, because we’re friends and friends help each other?” Nirei replies.
“Yes.. right, friends… Also… Is it normal to get gifts for your birthday??”
Nirei stares back in shock. Sakura scowls.
“Yes..???”
“HOW’D I SUPPOSE TO KNOW, I never got any gifts when it was my birthday..”
Nirei sighs and goes in to give Sakura a big hug.
“Your birthday is soon, just a few days after Suo’s right? Don’t worry ^V^ I’ll be sure to get you something as well!”
“DON”T GET ME WRONG, It’s not like I was asking you to get me one or anything” Sakura immediately clarifies.
“I’ll get you one because I want to, because we are friends!” Nirei happily says.
“T..thank you, but with your question, pretty sure Suo would be happy with anything you get him.”
“You said the same thing Kiryu saidddd” Nirei says through a sigh.
“Well, that’s because it’s true, get him something he likes, you know more about him than anyone else.”

Nirei walks home, still unsure what to get Suo. It probably shouldn’t be as difficult as Nirei is making it out to be, unfortunately, Nirei overthinks all the time and that still has not changed.
