"No! No, no nonono... This can't be right! How could you have lost him?!!" Phil shouted at the captain of the guard. "Search again. Techno can not be gone."
The man nodded and quickly rushed from Phil's office. The king hung his head. Techno, his eldest son, had disappeared from his tent during a routine outing for training. The soldiers with him had neglected to search for him and did not tell Phil until they got back three days later. The crowned prince had gone missing, and the imbeciles who were hired to protect the royal family couldn't be bothered to even look for him. Phil was livid. Each and every man on that trip could loose their heads, and it wouldn't make up for the incompetence put on display.
Techno would be alright, he had to be. Phil had raised him to be resourceful and a capable fighter. Even if he had been separated from the group, Techno would be alright.
The more Phil thought about it, the more panicked he became. Sure, Techno was capable, but he'd never had to survive on his own. He had training, but that had never been put to any practical test. On top of that, the royal family did have many enemies. Anyone who found him had just as much of a chance to help him as they did to hurt him. But, no one would do that, right? No one was foolish enough to harm the crowned prince, right?
Phil sighed, resting his head in his hands. Worrying was pointless. His son would soon be returned safely.
