Work Text:

It was odd seeing Karamatsu actually dressed for the season. He had his long trench coat on (none of them could remember when he bought it) and a checked scarf, dark jeans and black boots. Totty, next to him in her own sweater dress and thick burgundy tights and brown kitten heels, was staring down at her phone.

Choromatsu stuck his hands in the pockets of his own, more modest jacket, looking at the ground. They seemed like perfectly matched siblings.

"Choromatsu?" Totty asked, tapping the toe of her shoe on the sidewalk. "Are you ready?"

Osomatsu was leaning back against the front door in his hoodie with no shoes. "Where are you going?" he asked around his cigarette, eyes wide and curious.

Totty sent him a withering look. "Out," she said dryly. She looped her hand through Karamatsu's arm to take his elbow; Karamatsu, who had become so much more protective of their little sister since she came out, adjusted his sunglasses with his other hand and actually looked cool.

Choromatsu felt more out of place. "I-I might just stay home," he started to protest, but then Totty put her phone in her pocket and reached out to him. When she beckoned he stepped forward, confused. "Totty?" he asked.

"We're going to be late, Choromatsu!" She released Karamatsu to take Choromatsu's hand instead, marching him up the street. Karamatsu followed behind them with a smirk.

"Where are we going?" Choromatsu asked, just barely keeping up with Totty's brisk steps. "You never told me."

"It's a surprise, brother," Karamatsu said. Choromatsu could hear the sly grin in his voice--it seemed like Totty's habits had been rubbing off on him from all the time they spent together.

Totty nodded. "Yeah, a surprise! You'll love it," she assured. Choromatsu wasn't quite sure that was true but because they had all been living together for twenty-odd years, there was a good chance that Totty was telling the truth. Or, it was some prank, and he would absolutely hate it.

They were coming up on the outskirts of downtown where the idol concerts were usually held. Choromatsu wished that was where they were stopping but really, Totty probably had some new store she wanted them to visit.

To his genuine surprise, they stopped at the entrance.

"New concert," Totty said with little fanfare, holding up three tickets. "We knew you couldn't afford it yet, so we--"

Choromatsu couldn't help but gather his sister into a hug, twirling her around. "Totty you're an angel!" he laughed. Totty was laughing too until she pushed at Choromatsu's shoulders to be let down.

"We all pooled our money, really. Well, everyone except Osoma--"

Karamatsu got a hug too, but Choromatsu was a bit less exuberant with him. Karamatsu hugged him back without really thinking about it because that was just how he responded. After a moment, the hug got tighter and Karamatsu chuckled in his ear. "You're welcome," he said, as always, without a real thank you.

Choromatsu pulled back and grinned. "Did you guys really want to see it with me?" he asked. "Three tickets must have cost a lot."

"Of course we do." Karamatsu flushed pink. "Nyaa-chan is really cute, everyone knows that."

"I wish she'd be my girlfriend," Totty sighed.

"Yes, well." Choromatsu smoothed his already straight ticket between his fingers. "I don't support you taking every girl you see, Totty." Totty stuck her tongue out at him.
