Nobuo arrived to the Sentai Cafe after work in a bad mood.
"What happened?" Hiroyo Hakase asked. It was the time of year that the trademark containing the name of the next Super Sentai would be filed, and of course Nobuo paid attention to them every year, often excited at the reveal. But today Nobuo was sulking.
"The 2026 Super Sentai…" Nobuo sighed dramatically. "It doesn't exist!"
"What?!"
"Instead there will be this new thing called Project Red and they're gonna be doing a Gavan thing? From Metal Heroes. But it's not a reboot. The Gavan Infinity trademark is part one of this Project Red thing that's officially taking over Sentai's time slot…"
"It's hard to believe Super Sentai could ever come to an end…" Hakase sighed she tried to remain optimistic. "But we still have a few months left with Gozyuger!"
"I guess…" Nobuo sighed.
"Do you not like it?"
"It's just, once Gozyuger ends it'll be over! I've watched Super Sentai basically every week forever! What am I supposed to do now?"
"That is tough, isn't it," Hakase sighed. Nobuo loved Super Sentai and had watched the majority of them as they aired. "I know it won't be the same, but maybe you could give Project Red a chance? And if not, there's a lot of other Toku! Like Kamen Rider-"
"Nah, Kamen Rider and Ultraman and whatever isn't the same…" Nobuo whined.
"Ah. Well," Hakase thought. "You always have the power of delusion! Just make up adventures about Super Sentai! Let's see, 2026 is Zyuohger's 10th anniversary…"
"And Boukenger's 20th, Carranger's 30th, Flashman's 40th- I can't believe they never got a special where they returned to Earth!" Nobuo said about Flashman. "Like the odds of getting one were low since they didn't get a Gokaiger episode but considering Kakuranger 30 years after exists it was still possible, but now they definitely won't…"
"Yeah, it's too bad," Hakase sighed. "But once Gozyuger is over, we can have a weekly watch party where we watch old shows! Super Sentai has 50 years of shows to go back and watch, so watch old shows you enjoy! Or give Project Red a chance. But don't spend all your time moping around being sad Sentai is over. The heroes would want you to be happy!"
"Yeah, you're right," Nobuo said. "Okay, I’ll have a good year next year! And if Super Sentai ever comes back, you know I'll be ready!"
