A strange story happened to Yue and Ruby before Christmas.

Summary:

Sun and Moon guardians are gathering for Christmas. What could go wrong?

Work Text:

Christmas Eve, how wonderful it is to gather around the fireplace with the whole family and tell stories. Family harmony, nothing else.

Oh! Heh. I didn't notice you. I'm Eriol Hiiragizawa, you may know me as the creator of the solar and lunar guardians—Spinel Sun and Ruby Moon. But I'm also known as the reincarnation of the legendary sorcerer Clow Reed, so technically I also created Keroberos and Yue.

I'll tell you an instructive story that happened to our moon guards yesterday, the day before Christmas.

December 24th, one day left until Christmas. Our guardians were busily preparing for it. Yue and Ruby were decorating the house, while Kero and Suppi were writing a letter and conferring with Yue about requests.

"Yue, can I ask Santa for Gogol's "Dead Souls"?" asks Suppi.

"Yes, sure."

"Yue, Yue, Yue!!! Here's my list, look!" Kero shows his list, and there...

"Dear Santa Claus, I've been good all year, except for occasionally pestering my "brother," but you're an understanding guy, so I wrote down my wishes:

1. Infinite popsicle.
2. Xbobs Aininya 780 Pro.
3. GTA: Mokona Modoki Edition.
4. Beer.
5. Minecraft 2.
6. Anti-chess.
7. Criminal case against CLAMP for psychological abuse.
8. Controlling stake in a local candy factory..."

And Keroberos' list never ends... Yue was slightly taken aback by this information.

“Isn’t it too fatty?” Yue asked.

"What difference does it make to you?"

"Hee hee, do you always have such big requests, Kero?" Ruby Moon chuckled.

"What is it?"

"Because you're not alone, know your limits!" Yue said indignantly.

"Oh, Yue, why are you so upset?" Ruby was worried about her husband.

"Because Keroberos's been getting a bit brazen lately. Can't we just ask for a book like Spinel?"

"Do you think I look like a nerd?"

"ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND?!" Suppi started to fight.

"SO! Stop! The last thing we need is a fight!" Ruby separated the two sunnies. "It's Christmas! But Yue is right, you really are overdoing it with your demands."

"Eh, okay. Then just a videogame."

"Wonderful! It will be easier for Santa and you will be happy, right?" the butterfly encouraged the mouse.

As you can see, things are more or less calm in the Guardian family. The Suns have already written letters to their magical grandpa, but where can they get presents? The Lunars have a solution! Luckily, the sunnies went to bed early.

"Ruby Moon, I'm leaving."

"Shh, Yue. Kero and Suppi are sleeping. They're like our children. They is so cute!" Ruby whispered.

"That's good, it's time to go shopping for gifts."

"Are you sure you'll make it in time?"

"I think the others have already managed to buy gifts in advance, so there won’t be any problems with the queue."

"Let's hope for the best."

Ruby kissed Yue, and Yue went to the store to buy gifts. His intuition was right; the lines were short, so buying gifts wasn't difficult.

By the way, look at the photo *shows photo*. What a cute dog, huh? Kaho sent it to me. He bit her, though. And then she almost died of rabies... Hmmm... Ahh, so what's going on with Yue?!

"Okay, Keroberos, Spinel, we've got everything, time to go home," Yue muttered to himself, and headed home. And there, his good old wife was waiting for him at the entrance.

"Hello dear."

"Hello." Yue greeted with a kiss.

"How did it go? I hope you managed to find what our "kids" wanted? Hee-hee-hee." And then something struck Yue, and he pulled out his phone, pretending to talk.

"Yes... Yes... Well, if no one but me can do it, then I'll come now."

"Yue, what happened?"

"Sorry, Ruby Moon. I was called into work unexpectedly."

"In the evening, on holidays?"

"It happens. I'll be there soon! - Yue ran out of the house and got into the car."

"IDIOOOOOOOOT! You haven't bought Ruby Moon a Christmas present. The cost of it will be deducted from your pay, and you'll be getting beat up by your wife until you're FIVE HUNDRED AND TEN YEARS OLD! Because that's how many years it will take for Ruby to finally come to her senses. Report to the store, buy the present, and then return and report to me, Private Yue." Yukito began scolding inside his other self.

Yue suddenly started the car and drove away. But where to? We'll find out now! By the way, what are you planning to give your family and friends? For example, I want to give... Wait, I'm about to... *car sounds*

Jewelry store.

"It's complete crap. I swear to God."

"Are you looking for something?"

"Yes. I want to give my wife some earrings."

"I have something for you that I think she'll like," the jewelry consultant says, pulling out earrings with a ruby in the shape of an epiphyllum.

"Oh my God, that's what I need! Can you read my mind?"

"Is it okay that your wife teaches math in my child’s class?"

Phew, here I am. I went to...uh...turn off the oven. Anyway, Yue bought these earrings and, leaving the store, breathed a sigh of relief; his beloved wouldn't be left without a Christmas present. But unexpectedly.

"CATCH!" someone snatched the earrings from his hands and ran away.

"STOP!" Yue rushed after this individual.

"Merry Christmas, bitch!" our angel's dubious personality taunted.

The thief ran across the road on a red light, Yue naturally ran after him, just as a car was approaching the crossing, and...

At this time, in the kitchen of the estate, our butterfly was cutting out snowflakes from paper, when suddenly the telephone rang.

"Akizuki Nakuru speaking."

"Hello, this is the hospital calling. We wanted to let you know that your husband was hit by a car."

And then Ruby Moon staggered and fell to the floor in shock, dropping the phone. Spinel, still half-asleep, was flying past.

"Ruby Moon?! What happened?!"

"I have to go!"

She stood up abruptly, threw on her red coat and ran out of the house.

"I'LL CUT WITH YOU!" shouted Suppi.

"DON'T FORGOT ME!" and Kero followed him.

"Sunnies flew into the coat pocket. The butterfly immediately spotted the nearest car."

"Oh-oh-oh! Hello, Akizuki-san. How is your health?"

"I need to go to the hospital urgently!!!"

"Are you... pregnant?" These words made Ruby Moon's face blush and her eyes bulge out of her head.

"Heh-heh-heh. Just kidding! Sit down, I'll give you a lift in a jiffy."

She got in the car and drove to the hospital. And fifteen minutes later, she was there, getting out and thanking the driver. You know, I don't really trust people like that.

She burst into the hospital.

"WHERE IS YUE TSUKISHIRO?!"

"He's in room 233, on the second floor."

She rushed into the room, and when she entered, she saw Yue, safe and sound...almost. A nurse was nearby, bandaging his right leg.

"Excuse me, I'm his wife. How is he?"

"Your husband was lucky. He got away with just a broken leg." The nurse finished bandaging him. "That's all, for now you should lie down for a bit, maybe they'll let you go home."

Only Yue and Ruby remain in the ward (and Kero and Suppi hiding in the second one’s coat).

"I knew you'd come..."

"YUE!" Butterfly hugged her angel tightly. "Oh my God! My heart almost jumped out of my chest. What happened?!"

"I... I can't talk about it..."

"Come on, speak up!"

"I can't."

"SPEAK!!!" Ruby started shaking Yue until a receipt from a jewelry store fell out of his pants pocket, which she naturally picked up.

"Jewelry store?"

"Yes." Yue told everything that happened to him and what it all resulted in. Ruby shed a tear after this story. "You were probably worried, Ruby Moon."

There was a brief silence after these words, and then a loud slap was heard. Ruby slaps Yue.

"Never. NEVER! Don't scare me like that again." And then she wrapped her angel in her arms again." I don't care about gifts, it's just a formality. The main thing is that you're with me. We may be immortal, but I don't want to lose you over some nonsense.

And Yue was silent, either from remorse, or simply because he had lost the power of speech from the ruby slap.

The next day, Yue was finally allowed to stay home; thankfully, the fracture wasn't serious. Sakura, of course, bombarded Ruby with calls that day, and so did Kaho, but in any case, everything returned to normal.

And so, Christmas arrived. Our family of guardians began to celebrate. The lunars sipped eggnog and watched as the suns opened their long-cherished gifts.

"What the hell is this?!" Kero opened his gift, and inside... a biology textbook.

“You need to pester me less...” Yue muttered.

"I'll never forgive that damned dementic! Damn you, son of a bitch!"

"Be grateful you even got a gift," Yue panted.

"Yes! I got what I wanted," - Suppi muttered contentedly, reading "Dead Souls". "By the way, thank you for the gift."

"Don't thank us," Ruby replied.

"Why? I'm not Keroberos to believe in magical grandpas."

"That's for sure. From this day forward, I declare war on Santa!" Kero panted.

“Maybe we shouldn’t?” Ruby asks Kero and hands him the treasured game.

"OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! RUBY, YOU'RE MY WITCH!!! THANK YOU!!!" Kero went to hug her, and then flew off to his room like a bullet.

"You shouldn't have done that."

"Come on, honey, it's Christmas!"

"Forgive me again for not having a gift for you..."

"Well, screw those gifts. My best present is you!" Yue and Ruby Moon sealed their kisses.

And so that's how this story ends. Sweet, isn't it? I'll be celebrating in a couple of hours myself. This story was told to you by Eriol Hiiragizawa. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all. Take-Two, see you in court. Until next time, boys and girls.
