Mack was running late, and rather than reschedule, YoYo decided to go forward with her OBGYN appointment...she was
somewhat nervous, having miscarried once already the previous year (and she can't bear disappointing Mack Mackenzie-
who badly wants a child with her - a second time)...
"Señorita Rodriguez!" Dr. Irena Shaw chirped, grasping YoYo's hand warmly. "On time as usual; so nice to see you -follow
up, correct?" The women chatted a bit on the way to the examination room, where YoYo was left in the capable hands of Nurse
Jules Karr, who handed the Columbiana a treatment gown and briefly summarized the results of her previous visit. The OB excused
excused herself briefly, leaving bouncy, bubbly Jules to take over prepping and draping their patient. Once all the instruments are
set-up and machines booted up and ready, Carina returned to perform the actual procedure: "Al...right, Señorita-"
"Doctora, PLEASE: we have discussed this."
"Yes; forgive me ELENA ...your Little One's positioning is good...fetal heartbeat is strong, and amniotic fluid levels normal...
her size and length are proportional to a fetus of two months. No anomalies detected." As she recited these details, Jules typed all of
this information into a full-size iPad, emailing the summary (including prints of the sonogram) to YoYo's personal email. "What are
your questions, Elena?" Carina asked.
"None...OH: How long before field duty is restricted?"
"Honestly, I prefer that you cease field activities immediately; knowing what I do about you, however, I will simply say to use your
best judgment."
Elena smiled at both women. "Thank you both. I must get back."

She found the baby girl's father in his office at SHIELD HQ. "How'd it go, Mami?"
Elena grinned. "Muy bien, Papi ! All is normal...I'll show you the sonogram later. ESPERANZA is perfect."
"You're sure that you're fine naming her HOPE?"
"It is what YOU WANT, <Querido " she replied with a brilliant smile.
