"If Mike is our mother, which one of us is the father?" Micky sidestepped to make sure Mike couldn't reach him. He grinned at the glare he got from Mike.
They had gone to a cafe to celebrate getting a month-long gig. The waitress had told them they were an adorable family. Micky, Davy, and Peter quickly voted Mike as the mother.
"It should be the one of us who's most responsible." Peter grinned at Mike's growing irritation.
"Well, that leaves the three of us out," Davy laughed.
"Mike could be the mother and the father!" Micky hid behind Davy to avoid Mike.
Peter nodded. "It makes sense! Mike makes sure we always have food and clean clothes like a mother, and makes sure the rent is paid like a father."
Mike shoved his hands in his pockets. "I never thought I'd grow up to be a single mother."
Micky decided to tempt fate. He grabbed Mike around the shoulders. "Mom, can I have the car Saturday night?"
Mike lovingly patted Micky's hand. "No. You're grounded, young man."
Davy grabbed Peter by the arm. "Let's get home and do our chores before we get grounded, too!"
"Wait for me!" Micky ran behind them.
Mike pretended to dab a tear away. "I'm so proud of my children. Even though they're royal pains."
