Chapter Text
Snowbell was a playful cat who could play the piano, read, and understand human speech. She loved cake and had ice powers. She couldn’t speak, but brought everyone together.
It was December 18, Snowbell’s birthday, and Haku wanted her to have the best day ever. Even her grumpy brother Dell was softening up. Actually, he was always a bit soft when it came to Snowbell. He just didn’t want to admit it.
One time, Snowbell stuffed a cookie in Dell’s computer CD drive because she wanted to play “the cookie game.” Dell gave her an earful, but later he downloaded a cookie game for Snowbell to play on his tablet.
One time Snowbell scribbled a picture of Dell and gave it to him as a present. He was smiling in the picture, and it didn’t look anything like him. Dell acted like he was annoyed, but later, he hung the picture up on his wall.
Snowbell loved to play her little piano. She would play Jingle Bells all year round, because it was her favorite song. Dell acted like he was annoyed, but Haku knew he wouldn’t be able to deal with the silence if Snowbell stopped playing.
Snowbell was once a beloved plush kitten, given to Haku by her grandmother, who unfortunately passed away. Haku loved her grandmother, and her spirit was still alive in Snowbell.
For Snowbell’s birthday surprise, Haku and Dell invited their cousin Miku, who brought her friends Rin, Len, and Luka. Amelie was also there, and Haku couldn’t forget about Doremi. Pinkie Pie was there as well, because no party was complete without a spontaneous little pink party pony. Rhona and Lanyue also showed up, and Sekibanki was there too, putting the “surprise” in the surprise party. Miku also brought along her little sister Mizu, who loved to cuddle Snowbell.
Everyone made sure to bring lots of cake, and comics, because Snowbell loved to read them.
Snowbell was a social cat. In ways, she was a lot like a puppy. She was very excited to see all her friends in one place, so she ran around in circles.
Doremi had a surprise up her sleeve. With a magical spell and wave of her wand, she transformed Snowbell’s cat bed into a giant flying bed called The Bedmobile!
“Wouldn’t it be nice to go on a whole adventure without leaving the comfort of your bed?” Doremi said. “That’s how I came up with this idea!”
“That’s a wonderful idea!” Haku exclaimed.
“Hop on, everyone!” Doremi climbed into the giant bed, which was now floating. “Let’s go on an adventure!”
Doremi’s magic had gotten stronger lately, and she’d been more confident as well. When she first started magic, she was very clumsy and not very confident. She believed herself to be the unluckiest girl in the world. She also casted magic on a whim, often causing more harm than good. Her mentor, Majo Rika, would give her an earful whenever she accidentally made the dandelions explode, transformed cats into living cars, and “accidentally” turned everything into steak, her favorite food. And then she didn’t even get to eat any!
Doremi’s nickname even became Miss Steak, pronounced just like “mistake!”
Doremi was even the only witch-in-training in hundreds of years who failed the fairy test at first! But this motivated her to practice harder.
Majo Rika was once a powerful witch, but Doremi accidentally turned her into a frog. Now Doremi needed to pass all the witch tests in order to become a full-fledged witch and change her back.
Doremi wasn’t a full-fledged witch quite yet, but her Bedmobile spell had become a hit. At the local hospital, Doremi saw many kids who couldn’t leave their beds, but dreamed of going in a journey. Doremi’s Bedmobile idea made it possible for their dreams to come true.
Now, Snowbell was going to celebrate her birthday on The Bedmobile. Everyone took their presents and cake for Snowbell aboard, and with a magical flash, the Bedmobile began to take off to distant lands all around Whimsica.
“Where are we going? Are we there yet?” Pinkie Pie asked, as the Bedmobile was flying above the lands.
“We just got on thirty seconds ago. Be patient!” Dell huffed.
“Could we go to the ocean?” Rhona asked.
Rhona loved the ocean. She was a marine biologist and diver, and had many friends beneath the waves. She couldn’t get enough of the wonders of the sea, and even had a whale shark companion named Crystal, her best friend.
“You’re always at the ocean though.” Lanyue mentioned. “I think we should go visit a fancy palace!”
Lanyue was classy, and that was an understatement. He was dressed head-to-toe in formalwear, complete with even a monocle. He carried himself with a gentle yet dapper elegance, priding himself as a gentleman.
“I think we should go to a HAUNTED palace.” Sekibanki snickered.
Sekibanki loved to scare people. She was a type of youkai called a rokurokubi, and her head was able to detach. She loved to terrify people with her trick, but it was really only shocking the first time around. A few times later, it became sort of funny, but there was never as much impact as the first scare. So Sekibanki was always seeking out more and more new people to surprise.
“I think Snowbell should decide where we should go.” Dell spoke up. “It is her birthday, after all.”
“Meow!” Snowbell meowed. Haku was able to understand what she said.
“Snowbell says she wants to go to the North Pole!” Haku translated for everyone.
“The North Pole?” Dell groaned. “It’s desolate and bitter cold up there!”
“But… that’s where Santa Claus lives!” Doremi said. She was only eight years old and filled with dreams.
“Santa Claus? That fake?” Dell said.
Everyone else gasped.
“Uh-oh!” Pinkie Pie said. “Looks like our Grumpy Dell doesn’t believe in Santa!”
