Chapter Text

The demon realm was not a happy place, but for a sinner, it was peaceful, barely enough. No yelling of a landlord threatening you and your family to the street, no laughing of the nobles behind your back, and if you're obedient, no whispering of the demon king in your head. Jinu sat there, alone on hongsalmun, strumming his biqa, the sound of the instrument seemed to be the only thing that filled the endless realm. And so did his thought. I wasn't at fault, I didn't have any other choice. No matter how he denied it, the memory crept inside his mind. It is almost ironic how without Gwima, Jinu was already reminding himself of his own sin. After all, when you stuck inside a cage of darkness, the light of past clanged to your brain is surprisingly long.

Jinu was not the first soul fell into Gwima's waiting hands, but he was the one who survived the longest. Others suffered not so pleasant fate when they are no longer appeal to the king's interest. First they lost their identity, their appearance distorted into monstrous from. The more neglected they were, the faster the process. Soon, no one can tell they was once a human. The rest was hard to say, Jinu hummed, some acquaintances of his, people to him was not worth to remember names, in the end their mind had all fallen to darkest pit. After 200 years since his fall, Jinu was alone again. The downside of being the Gwima's favorite, aside from the linger pain when he left the king's chamber, is that he was lonely, what the point of having company if they just return to nothing. He did not wish to nurture a dying hope.

But

He was lonely, centuries without anyone to share his rthym, without anyone to hear his song. He had the demon king, but how could Jinu pour all his agony and sorrow without turning himself to entertainment for the enteral flame? He longed for another soul that listen to his story, to listen to his saying and to listen to him.

So he plead. Pleading the demon king, his god, his love for someone, someone belong to him, someone will stay be his side for the end of time, someone who could endure the ruthlessness of silence.

The king was amuse.

In fact, at first, hearing his songbird dare to asking more, for a soul other than Gwima himself made the king quite disappointing. Perhaps his Jinu had grown too bold and arrogant to demand more. But it is Gwima's fault to be unable to resist such charm. The songbird that he cherished so tenderly, bending over in hands and knees. The sight was blissful to gaze on, it intrigued the king enough to put the thought of punishing his bird aside. But those sweet voice was so pleasant to hear, so to entertain his dearest, the king agreed. Of course, every wish has a price.

And Gwima took his price.

It started simple, the king reached out to his songbird. His talons lifted Jinu's head up, pressing lightly over his pump lips. The pattern on his hand seemed to having minds of their own, traveling from the palm of the demon king to the other's face, stay behind where his claws traced the smooth skin. Bringing the songbird close to him, the sensation of burning fire touched Jinu's lips. Gwima lip's sealing Jinu's with a searing kiss. His hand wandered form the songbird's face down to his neck, stopping at his adam's apple. Gwima put in some force, drawing a muffled moan out of his favorite treasure. His voice was euphorically, just like when Gwima gifted him years ago. The demon king's eyes moved up to the other's face again, who was losing color due to the lack of oxygen. Yet, his mouth remained devoured by the king's hunger. He pulled away from his songbird after taking what his. A corner of his lips pulled up into a sly grin, watching his beloved panting from air lost. The way his chest rose up and down, his lips parted as their mix saliva slipped out, it turned Gwima on. He could never growing bored of the sight.

"Jinu, my dear, how could I ever resist you? For you be such a perfect other half for me." Gwima cooed, nipped on Jinu's neck. He purposely emphasize on the last phrase, gouging a reaction out of his beloved. The demon king got what he want when he noticed the little twitch of Jinu's eyes, then him avoiding eyes-contact. What could possibly be lovelier than a bird thinking they owned the sky while trapped in a cage?

"Shut up." Even his sulking pout was divine. Gwima glad he gifted him that, it suited perfectly with such beautiful face.

"My foolish child, how could I stop when you are so entertaining to rile up?" Jinu's face tensed for a split second, but Gwima ignored it, maybe. Cupping his treasure's face once more, Gwima leaned down for another kiss, instead of a hungrily like before, this time was just a briefly skin to skin touching, enough for the demon saja to flush intensely and started squeaking like a little bird. The demon king laughed, then put both of his hands on the other's waist and pulled him close.

Slowly, flicker of fire radiated from his body, surrounding both of them. Gwima looked down at his songbird, whose pattern begin to glow due to the heat of the flame. When the fire finally burned down, Jinu could see they were no longer at the king's throne, but in his chamber instead.

Wasting no time, the demon king pushed the one in his arms down to the sheet, earning a yelp from his songbird. The smaller demon squirmed and reached out a hand as if to push he away. Gwima grabbed Jinu's wrist and put it over his shoulder.

"Careful, or I might need to tie you up." Jinu stopped at the threat, turned his hand to hold onto the demon above him. His breath hitched as Gwima's warm hands explored his body. His eyelids pressed together in discomfort.

Stop. Jinu wanted to protest, but the words came out of his lips sounded horribly pathetic. Of course, Gwima would not take that seriously, or that bastard would ever take him seriously. He hated the thought of it, that every effort of his was just the demon king's entertainment. The hands continued, Jinu felt exposed. He felt like every inches of him was displayed for the king's eyes, even his mind was like an open book. Jinu hate it so much, and that damn demon knew, as always.

He knows what I'm thinking.

Jinu snapped his eyes open, his pattern was glowing. Anger flared in his eyes as he saw that smug grin of the one whose eyes shamelessly stare at him right now. For a moment, he considered tearing that face down with his claws, but that would just turn the demon king on. So instead, he remained in his spot like a good toy. Whatever.

Gwima sat up and scooped the pouty songbird to his laps. His hand rested on Jinu's head.
"My love, I do not wish to upset you. But look at that face, how could I help myself?"

"You sound too much happy for someone didn't wish it." Jinu gritted through his teeth. Cute, Gwima thought.

"I can be both, can't I. In fact, I think you like that too, since my attention is the only thing keep you occupied in this hellhole."

Jinu couldn't deny that. As much as he hate it, Gwima was the only company he still had to this day. The king's favor, while can be overwhelmed, but Jinu admitted a part of him crave it. Otherwise, he would not come here begging in the first place. Almost instinctively, he leaned into Gwima's hand.

"So tell me, why are you seeking for someone else now? When I already provide what you need?"
"Because I'm your." Jinu whispered.
"Hm?"
"Because you own me, not the other way around. I don't feel myself with you, at least not fully." Jinu did not know how or why he brought himself to saying this to Gwima's face. But he felt like he might explored if he kept bottling this. "I feel almost, jealous that you could make me feel like you're my only one, make me fighting for you, almost. If there is someone that could look at me like too…"
"But my child, my queen, you could have someone you want. This realm is my kingdom, as it is yours. What stop you from picking one seem to catch your eyes?" Gwima's words poured in Jinu's ears, as he wrapped the smaller demon in his arms, caging him in.
"It's not the same." Jinu lifted his head to meet Gwima's eyes. Tears swelled in his own eyes. With the same pair of eyes, Jinu's noticed the king looked stunned for a bit. So in his sweet voice, he pushed. "I want someone to remain with me, someone belong and adore me similar to how I worship you. Someone who will not leave me as time pass."
Jinu came for this wish, by one way or another, he had to make Gwima grant it, just a little more-

Gwima laughed, his hand moved to grip the back of Jinu's neck, pulling it back so his songbird facing him.

"Your sincerity touch me, love. I might really consider giving you an companion. But when you're still my favorite, are you certain of your wish?"

Jinu looked dumbfounded. That's it? He was ready to do more, maybe get on his knees again and lose some of his robe, but that it? Gwima being so easy on him was not rare, since he seemed to have his looks as a pass, so maybe the demon king was in a good mood today. Either way, he eagerly nodded, missing the sly in the other tone.

"Alright, my love. I'll get what you want."
As long as you don't regret make a deal with a demon.
