Earthquake

Summary:

The earthquake didn't just shake the ground. It shook Giyuu and Shinobu's insides.

Work Text:

Giyuu Tomioka and Shinobu Kochou were on their way to a mission. The latter trying to start a conversation with the Water Pillar, something a bit impossible with the antisocial and grumpy companion she had on the mission.

So they were walking in silence towards where the crow had indicated. Until they stopped, the moment the ground trembled beneath their feet.

Keeping balance became very difficult, so after two seconds, Shinobu was sitting on the ground, having fallen to the earth.

And Giyuu...

The Water Pillar was in the fetal position. The woman who had gotten up and dusted off her clothes raised an eyebrow at what she was seeing, brought her palm to her mouth. Surprised.

"Don't tell me you're afraid of earthquakes?" mocked the Insect Pillar.

In the end, this facet that she was seeing of the man was something she would have never imagined.

Always calm. A calm that Giyuu could not maintain with the tremors, with the movement beneath his feet that caused him paralysis and had him whimpering and curled up in a ball.

"... Tomioka-san?"

The call of his name caused the young man to launch himself at her.

He, with his arms wrapped around the woman. She, taken by surprise.

"...Shinobu."

Not the usual Kochou. Just Shinobu.

A blush warmed her cheeks and without being able to prevent it, her arms were around him, unable to unhook them.

He was trembling, and the woman simply couldn't push him away. Her stomach filled with butterflies, her heart began to beat strongly.

Giyuu could feel everything described, added to the intoxicating aroma of Shinobu.

After a while, he realized that the earthquake had stopped, an event that had already ended before he launched himself into the Insect Pillar's arms.

Arms that loosened their grip, stretched out and pushed the woman away. Getting up, he resumed his way to the mission.

"I don't like earthquakes," he snapped after a while, with his cheeks pink with the shame of his act. He didn't think he could look her in the eye, not if he still felt uneasy and his heart vibrating.

Shinobu gave a smile. Even though she wouldn't see it, but at least pretending, she could make her await the calm a little.

"I already noticed."

Like her feelings for the Water Pillar.

The earthquake had only lasted a few seconds, but her interior (stirred by the various emotions recently caused) continued to move.
