Chapter Text
I was going to go to Russia with one mission and one mission only. I needed to find out where my baby was, despite the fact that she would be over three now. I knew that I had given her up for adoption, but I was pretty sure that the process wasn't even legal. Of course, the Russian legal system was nowhere near as good as the one in US. The law was pretty much whatever Putin said the law was. I had thought about dealing with him, but I was not in the mood to try to find him. I wanted to stay focused especially since I would have to smuggle a child out of the country. Fortunately, she was an American citizen because I was.
The trip to Russia was not easy. It was just going to be Courtney and I going, and I was kind of nervous about bringing her with me. I wasn't sure what I would have to do in order to do this. I was basically prepared for anything. Fortunately, I was able to speak to Tara to let Anatoly know that I was coming. I figured that he owed me another favor after I saved Tara from Slade.
We would be landing in a secret airfield that was used by the Bratva. As such, we wouldn't have to go through customs. However, I would have to go past the desk before I went to him.
"My name is Olesya Koroleva. I am a member of Bratva. I wish to speak to Anatoly Knyazev." I remarked.
"Who is she?" The secretary asked me.
"Her identity is not important. Get me Anatoly or I shall force my way inside." I ordered. The secretary called for him. I waited a few minutes before I was told that we could go to his office.
Once we were inside, he gave me a hug.
"Olesya, is so good to see you." He replied as he hugged me.
"It's good to see you as well." I replied.
"Why are you calling her that and why are you speaking with an accent?" Courtney asked me.
"When I was here, especially while I was pregnant, I was trained to be Russian, so I adopted a Russian name and I suppose I just slip into this accent when I'm here." I explained before I turned to Anatoly. "I'm here because I require a favor from you."
"I suppose I do owe you one after you saved Tara from Slade Wilson." Anatoly agreed.
"He's Tara's father?" Courtney asked in surprised.
"Yes and he also helped train me while I was here, well as much as I was able to be trained." I explained. I learned some of my ruthlessness from him.
"She was a great soldier and I have heard that you have done great things in America." Anatoly replied. "However, I assume you are not here to talk about your exploits. So tell me Kapiushon what is it that you need from me?"
"What does that mean?" Courtney inquired.
"It means pin cushion, which I suppose is fitting considering my healing abilities." I told her before I turned to Anatoly. "I am looking to reacquire my baby. I need to know everything that you know about her whereabouts and who is watching her."
"That won't be the easiest thing." Anatoly remarked. "I don't exactly have the files on hand, but since you saved my Tara's life multiple times, I will do this for you."
"Spasibo, Anatoly." I replied as he took out some vodka. It was quite customary to drink. "You always have to have the best."
"Always." He agreed as he poured three glasses for each of us.
"I don't really drink." Courtney declared. I nudged her. "I mean I would love to try some."
The three of us all downed the liquid. Thankfully, it was only a shot because I didn't really want Courtney to get drunk.
"In the meantime, perhaps you should enjoy the city." Anatoly remarked. "I will contact you as soon as I have the information that you request."
I knew that Moscow wasn't the safest place, but I knew that Courtney and I would be able to protect ourselves if we needed to.
"So what do you want to do?" I asked her after we left the office.
"Maybe we can go and try some authentic Russian food?" Courtney suggested. I probably did need to eat because I had only had a small amount on the plane and our flight was 11 hours long.
"Well I know the perfect place to go then." I explained.
I took her to White Rabbit. It was one of the most prestigious restaurants in Russia and it was also pretty exclusive, but I knew that I would be to get a table. However, first we would need a change of wardrobe.
The two of us got dressed up before we headed to the restaurant.
"Do you have a reservation?" The host asked.
"Yes, I do. It's under Koroleva." I remarked as I showed him my Bratva tattoo.
"Right this way." He declared as he took us to our table.
The food was definitely as good as I remembered it. It had been a while since I had had anything like it because I didn't get the opportunity to eat Russian food when I was in Star City and even if I did, it wouldn't be anything like this.
"Mmm, this is so good." She replied as she stuffed her face. "But did you really have to show your tattoo in order to get a table?"
"You have to use whatever advantage you can to get what you want here." I explained. It was at that moment that my phone rang. "Good evening, Anatoly."
"I have found the information that you about your daughter, including the names of the people who adopted her and her last known location." He explained.
"Do we know any crimes that they've committed? I would like to get out of here without killing them." I remarked.
"I can get them arrested on kidnapping charges since as you know, the adoption was never legally binding. Would you like to make the arrest yourself?" He asked.
"Da." I answered.
"I admire you trying to set a good example for your daughter. Part of me wishes that I had done the same for Tara." He stated.
"We cannot change the past, but I know that you can still be a good father, just like my father has been to me." I told him before I hung up the phone.
After we were done eating, the two of us headed back to the Bratva headquarters where we were given Police of Russia uniforms to wear. We then went over to the house where the man where and women were.
"Are you sure that you want to do this?" Courtney asked.
"I know that it feels wrong, but this is what it is going to take." I declared before I started to bang on the door.
I had Courtney carry out the arrest while I went to Mia's room where she was sleeping. I went and woke her up and picked her up.
"Where you taking my mother and father?" She asked in Russian.
"These people are not your mother and father. I am your mother. They took you from me right after you were born and I wish to take you home." I explained. With that she hugged me. It felt good to be hugged by my child.
From there, we made our way home. I knew it would be an adjustment for her living in Star City, but I was pretty sure that she was going to like it. I just hoped that I would be able to be a good mother.
So Olivia has finally brought Mia home but what is she going to do when she has to face down Damien Darhk? Plus how will Joe factor into this? Please don't forget to review.
