What would I ever do without you?

Summary:

“what would I ever do without you, mi querido?”

Serging tilts his head slightly to the side, giving him a look as if he’s pondering the question. “Probably crash and burn,” he teased.

Notes:

Another QuezMeña fluff para sa masa!

I really enjoyed writing this one, so I hope you guys would enjoy reading it. <3

Work Text:

“Have you seen my cuffs? I forgot where I last placed them.”

The sound of rummaging through things echoes in their dorm room, and all Serging could do is sigh impatiently as he watches Manolo practically turn their place upside down while getting ready for an event.

“You know, that’s a sign of old age.”

‘Oh fuck off, Serging. Can you please just help me?” he turned to his friend, putting on an innocent look on his face that he knew would make the other cave. Serging rolled his eyes and stood from his bed and walked over to Manolo’s desk and took a small box from one of its drawers, and handed it to the other man. “You always forget to look through your desk drawers.”

Manolo smiled brightly and took the box from his hands, “Ah! What would I ever do without you, my Serging?” He kissed the slightly smaller man on the cheeks and immediately went to put on the cuffs. Serging stood frozen for a moment, getting caught off guard, but immediately composed himself before the other man could notice (and worse, tease him about it).

Trying to make himself appear busy, he turned to grab his coat from his bed before fixing himself in front of the mirror. “Hurry up, Manolo. We’re about to be late for the event.”

“Yes, yes. I am aware.. Anyways, how do I look?”

When he turned to look at the man, he felt his throat close up and heat rushing through his neck. He opened his mouth to reply, but felt no words come out of it. Manolo, of course, noticed it quite immediately. “Amazing then?” he smirked in triumph.

Clearing his throat, his eyes darted to their windows, which had suddenly become fascinating. He heard the other man make his way to his side and glanced to see Manolo running his hands through his hair for the hundredth time and straightening his dress shirt. When the other man finally seemed satisfied with the way he looked, he once again turned towards Serging. “Alright?” he opened his arms, as if to give Serging a full look at his appearance.

“Your tie is crooked,” he said, but before the other man could give a response, he already stepped closer and reached up, hands brushing against the silk of the tie. And with a practiced ease, he undid the knot slightly and re-tied it, making sure it's perfectly straight. And while all of that was happening, Manolo only stood patiently with a soft smile on his lips and gaze fixed on the man in front of him.

Serging gave him a soft tap on his chest, signalling that he was done, and smiled at him softly.

“Seriously though,” he said, his voice soft with intimacy, “what would I ever do without you, mi querido?”

Serging tilts his head slightly to the side, giving him a look as if he’s pondering the question. “Probably crash and burn,” he teased. “And by the way, you look very handsome today.”

After saying that, he leaned in and gave Manolo a quick, but firm peck on the lips.

Serging didn’t wait for a reaction, as he immediately spun around, put on his coat and went to head out. And as he opened the door, he paused momentarily to look back at Manolo, who stood frozen with a dazed look on his face.

“Are you coming, cariño? We’re late.”

That seemed to snap Manolo out of his daze, a blush creeping up his neck. “You’ll be the death of me, you know?” He cleared his throat and straightened his tie as an attempt to compose himself.

Serging laughed and stepped out the door, making his way through the hallway looking amused and pleased with himself. He hears Manolo hurry out of their room and mutter curses as he tries to lock their door before running to catch up to him. And not a second later, he felt an arm hook to his, and he looked up at the slightly panting man, before cheekily saying, “Took you long enough.”
