Work Text:
Shinobu forced herself to smile as she focused her gaze on the meters that separated her from the ground.
"Is this how you carry an injured woman?" the insect pillar asked "friendly" "You have no delicacy at all. Better, get me down already!" and she began to move, trying to get out of that ridiculous position. One which, she did not imagine being in.
Anyway, when she twisted her ankle during a mission and on her return was lifted by the man in his arms, she thought he would carry her that way. Multiple butterflies congregated in her stomach, fluttering hysterically, until they died when Tomioka carried her on his shoulder. She endured meters in silence and complete stupefaction, but now she could no longer stand being in that position.
"Don't move," the water pillar asked calmly "You're injured."
"I appreciate your concern, Tomioka_san," with feigned cordiality "But my pride is more wounded if you carry me this way."
"What's wrong with it, Kochou?" Giyuu asked innocently.
The woman, raised an eyebrow incredulously.
"If you haven't noticed, you're carrying me like a sack of potatoes."
"The build and weight are different," he assured, as if that would alleviate the woman's discomfort.
"I'm glad you've noticed, Tomioka_san," she still sounded politely reluctant "At least you can assure that I'm lighter than a sack of potatoes, can't you?"
A minute of silence.
"CAN'T YOU?" she questioned with a vein already marked on her forehead "GET ME DOWN!" she blurted out through gritted teeth.
She was fed up with so much humiliation. That's why she moved with more force and more restlessly.
"Don't move," the water pillar asked again. And she felt the need to kick him, without caring about the injured foot.
"What? Does my movement bother your shoulder?"
"Why do you say that?"
"Do you really ask me that, after your silence confirmed your thought that I'm heavier than a sack of potatoes?"
"I don't think that way."
"Your silence was more than your answer."
"I responded," he objected calmly "I nodded."
"And do you think in this position I can see it, stupid Tomioka?"
She sighed.
"Would you do me the favor of putting me down. We don't want your shoulder and my pride to get more injured."
To her surprise, Giyuu made the gesture to do so. He did because he held her from the two armpits, inches from the ground, causing their faces to be at the same height.
"You're as light as a butterfly," his voice was calm and completely pure. It was sincere.
The words that the young man let out left the woman embarrassed, who colored her cheeks, in addition to the fact that it did not help at all that his blue eyes were looking at her fixedly at that distance. It seemed to be piercing her interior. Now she wanted to get down with more fervor and not only because she was treated like a child who cannot see and has to be lifted. So she kicked to be released.
Surprisingly, after a while he did. Roughly and making her hit her butt on the ground. Shinobu couldn't believe it after complaining about the pain.
"You definitely have no delicacy at all, Tomioka_san," Shinobu expressed angrily, but still having the friendly facade at all times "Won't you help me up?" she asked raising a hand, after shaking off the dirt a bit after falling to the ground in that way "Tomioka what are you waiting for? Tomioka?"
She turned to the two sides and not a trace of him. Her expression went away. Unable to believe it Did he leave me?
The aforementioned, who after feeling uneasy about his closeness, walked feeling the need to move away until he realized that he had left Kochou alone and injured.
The same one who with her finger wrote in the earth, over and over again.
"I hate you Tomioka"
