Chapter Text
At first, Roier thought it was a really well-edited video.
He encountered a stream with 0 viewers with nothing as title except "Cellbit". Curiosity got the best of him and he opened it just to see scenery similar to the city he lived in but completely destroyed.
"What is this...?"
The only thing he could see was the figure of a man, he had long brown hair and bright blue eyes, he was trembling while protecting a woman with white hair behind him and for the way he was talking to her, Roier assumed they were siblings, also for the similarities between them.
"I can donate?"
Roier stared at the big DONATE button under the stream screen, he got the urge to donate but he restricted himself.
"Even if I have a lot I shouldn't be spending it on weird places"
Just when he was about to close the page, a loud noise caught his attention and he saw what looked like an enormous bird appear in front of the siblings making them shake in fear even more.
"Shit! Run!"
The man screamed and started running dragging his sister with him, but she couldn't move on her own, she was consumed by fear and her legs quickly gave up.
"Bagi! Wake up!"
"So she's Bagi"
Roier saw how the man shook Bagi's shoulders trying to pull her out of her trance but she was already crying and drowning in her own saliva.
"They should really hurry, the monster is near..."
Roier still thought he was watching like a movie made by a streamer, a really good one but it was still fiction to him.
He laughed and decided to write something in the chat but a sudden message caught his attention.
"Congratulations on becoming a Constellation! Decide on a nickname before interacting with the avatar."
What kind of weird stream message was that, there weren't even mods or bots who could have sent that message.
But whatever, he was starting to get really interested and he wanted to watch more.
"This should do, right?"
Loaded Red Arachnid.
Kind of kirky but he wasn't going to think of anything good in a few seconds when he desperately wanted to send a message in the chat.
"The monster is getting near, hide"
If that was a video there was no way his message was going to change anything in the story but Roier somehow wanted to be involved in it.
"W-what?"
Roier saw the man stutter after something appeared before his eyes but Roier couldn't tell what it was.
"He got distracted? Your sister is going to die man"
"Take your sister and hide, quickly!"
For some reason, Roier could see the location of the monster on a map in the right corner of the screen, and it was getting worryingly close to the siblings.
"Damn it!"
The man crouched and pulled his sister over his shoulders carrying her like she was a sack of potatoes but still she didn't react.
"To your left! There is a small cave from the fallen rocks!"
He could see it.
Why could Roier see the things near that place that weren't shown on the screen, it was like he was looking at an interactive map of a game, the kind that showed you where the hidden things and checkpoints were.
The man ran in the direction Roier had told him and got into the little cave with his sister.
Just a few seconds passed when Bagi finally talked.
"We're going to die... Cellbit we're going to die!"
"Shut up! We're not going to die!"
So Cellbit was the guy he was watching.
Then he was the protagonist.
Considering the title of the stream then Roier assumed Cellbit was the main character in that story.
Roier was about to type something to warn the guy about the monster but the bell to his house rang.
"Did I have any deliveries today?"
He got up from his chair and walked to his door, he opened the door and found a deliveryman with a package.
"Hello, sir! May I bother you with your signature?"
"Sure"
Roier signed the paper and took the package.
That interaction was no longer than three minutes plus the two minutes he took to get a glass of water, but when he went back to his room, everything was a mess.
The first thing he heard was screams, Bagi and Cellbit were running again but not because of the bird, another monster had found them, one that was fast and was apparently targeting Cellbit.
"What happened?!"
He typed not expecting an answer since there was no one else in the stream, but the answer came from someone unexpected.
"It entered through a crack in the cave and started attacking us!"
"He can hear me...?"
Of course not. The correct answer was that Cellbit could "read" Roier but he talked without thinking.
"Wait. I have to try it"
He was going to donate, if Cellbit could read it then how would he react to donations?
He clicked the button and a catalog of things appeared before him.
[HP recover potion 100 coins]
[MP recover potion 100 coins]
[Low Grade Metal Shield 150 coins]
[Low Grade Metal Sword 130 coins]
[Low Grade Fire Potion 250 coins]
[Sword of the Blue Dragon 450 coins]
There were multiple pages but those were the ones Roier could read in two seconds.
His eyes were stuck on one particular item.
"Fire potion..."
He pulled the tab and he read the information about the monster again.
[Low Grade Venemous Big Snake. It is said it resents the male gender no matter the species and only targets male specimens. There is no particular information about how to hunt them but fire mages and swordmasters are known to win against them.]
"Fire!"
The potion may work!
Roier quickly went back to the shop and clicked on the button to buy the potion but another tab opened instead.
[Choose your payment method]
"Fuck! Where is my wallet?!"
Roier stood up from his seat in a hurry and quickly ran to his living room where he had left his backpack.
When he found what he was looking for he went back to his room running and pulling his card at the same time.
He quickly put in his card data and proceeded with the payment ignoring what was happening in the stream.
[Payment complete! The item will be given to your avatar in a moment.]
"Hurry up!"
Roier pulled the stream screen again and only then did he see what was happening.
The bird and the snake were fighting but the bird had Bagi trapped in one of its claws, Cellbit was grabbing Bagi by her arm trying desperately to pull her down.
"What? What happened in just five minutes?!"
[You have been sponsored the item "Low Grade Fire Potion"]
A message appeared in front of Cellbit's eyes but Roier couldn't see it, he only saw how Cellbit got distracted for a second and then a bottle with a red liquid appeared in one of his hands.
"Use it on the snake! It is only targeting you!"
Cellbit did what Roier said and threw the potion at the snake, the bottle exploded and the body of the snake was covered in fire two seconds after.
But Cellbit got distracted.
He let go of Bagi's arms and as soon as the bird saw the snake dying, he started flying away.
It was way too late when Roier realized the bird was leaving.
"CELLBIT!!"
Bagi's distant screams could be heard while Cellbit ran in the direction the bird had flown, but unfortunately for him, the bird flew way faster than he ran and quickly disappeared from his sight in the red sky, a consequence of multiple dungeons opening at the same time.
"BAGI!!"
Cellbit screamed to the air like trying to call his sister with just his voice, Roier felt sorry for him but at the same time, he also felt guilty, if he hadn't concentrated on saving Cellbit and looked for a way to save both of them, maybe he could have saved Bagi too.
He scuffed after thinking that he had just known both of them for about 15 minutes but he was already feeling overly attached to both of them.
"I'm sorry I couldn't save her"
[The Constellation expresses his regret about not saving your sister]
"I tried to save you without thinking of her"
[The Constellation explains he was concentrated on your well-being without thinking of your sister]
"It's... It's not your fault... You tried to help us..."
Cellbit talked with a knot in his throat and Roier could hear it.
"I won't let this happen again"
[The Constellation assures you a situation like this won't ever repeat]
Cellbit laughed and tears started flowing down his face at the same time.
"Thank you... Thank you so much..."
Roier saw Cellbit fall on his knees wiping the tears out of his face, and he decided, he would not let anything happen to Cellbit again.
He still didn't completely understand what that stream was or how he interacted with Cellbit in real life but nothing of that mattered to him, the only thing he cared about was keeping Cellbit safe.
