Work Text:

"Are you sure this is a good idea?" Phantom asked as he inspected his reflection in the bathroom mirror.

Taylor put a hand on his shoulder, and Danny couldn't help but feel slightly starstruck even though they had been hanging out for at least an hour now. She was an amazing alien hero, and he was just some ghost kid.

"As a princess of Cyandii, I'm the foremost expert on having cyan-colored hair. So I declare this a great idea!"

Well, how could he say no to that?

The deed was mostly done anyway. All that was left was drying, so he turned intangible with his head over the sink to make the water fall through, and his hair dried instantly. It puffed up into its usual spiky style, except it now had an unusual color.

"See, you look great!"

Taylor pulled Phantom close so their heads were side by side in the mirror. Phantom's cheeks cooled with cold ectoplasm at having the girl he looked up to so close, but his reflection soon distracted him. Their bright cyan hair matched perfectly.

"If I had purple skin, I could pass as your sibling." Phantom grinned.

Taylor smiled back and tousled his hair. "You totally could!"

Speaking of siblings, Jazz chose that moment to knock on the bathroom door. "Danny? You in there?"

Phantom opened the door and gave Jazz a sheepish look as she stared at his hair. "Like it?"

"It's very blue."

"Cyan, actually," Phantom and Taylor said at the same time. Jazz raised an eyebrow, seemingly unfazed by the obviously alien-looking person in the room.

"This is my friend, Taylor. She's an alien from the planet Cyandii."

Taylor waved as Phantom introduced her.

"Taylor, this is my sister, Jazz. Full-human from Earth."

"Nerd." Jazz smiled and playfully pushed Phantom's shoulder. Since he was floating slightly in the air and he chose not to resist it, he started drifting across the room.

"Oh I know, when we first met, he asked me about a million questions about Cyandii."

"Taylor! How could you betray me like this!" Phantom said as he swooped around the room dramatically.

"Have you seen his bedroom yet? I think he has a few posters of you."

"Jazz!" Phantom moved to tackle her, but Jazz stepped out of the way, sending him careening into the wall.

He felt like sinking through the floor as Jazz and Taylor laughed at him. Oh wait, he actually was sinking through the floor. Jazz noticed and pulled him back up.

"Just teasing, little brother."

"Yeah, it's older sister privilege." Taylor smirked.

"Whatever," Phantom sighed and detransformed, tired of his power mishaps.

Danny rushed to the mirror when Jazz and Taylor started laughing again. He ran a hand through his hair, which was now a bright reddish-orange in his human form- almost matching Jazz's hair color.

"I knew this was a bad idea."
