Susie jumped up at the achievement, she had gotten 5 skips with her throw of the rock. She looked behind her and smiled at her parents who shed a warm smile. Susie took in the moment and stared at her parents, her mother opened her mouth as if she was about to speak but was cut off by the sound of the bell. Her head shot up and she took in her surroundings, she was in class, the period had just ended and everyone began to leave the class room for lunch.
Susie sat there for a moment and thought about her dream, she was desperate to hear her mothers voice again and she was just about too, but did she even remember her voice? She grabbed her bag and began to leave, 'Of course i remember her voice' she thought, but with little certainty. She walked to lunch and attempted to disregard her dream, it didn't matter anymore, they had left her and she would never forgive them for that, every night she spent sleeping on benches and in parks she remembered how they had abandoned her and left her to fend for herself.
Susie thought solemnly about where she was going to sleep that night but decided to leave it for later, she continued walking and got to the lunch line, she was starving, she always was on Monday's. The school lunches were the only thing keeping her going, other then the occasional handout or scraps of food she found. Susie looked forward and saw the massive line of students waiting for food, She had priority over them right? 'They get food at home, they had breakfast, they had dinner last night!' 'I didn't' Susie agreed with her thoughts and began pushing through the line.
"Hey! I do believe that I was ahead of you was I not?!" Berdly shrieked but Susie didn't care, that blue chicken wouldn't do anything about it, he was too wimpy, too weak to do anything about it and so Susie disregarded him and all of the other students complaints and groans and continued pushing through to the front, she was nearly there and was salivating at the thought of the school food, she was almost there when.
'SLAM'
Susie collided with something hard, she nearly fell but caught herself and took a step back and looked ahead. In front of her was a small boy, Susie recognized him, it was the mute kid who sat behind her, 'Kris'
"Get out of my way dweeb!" Susie shouted out but was met with no reply back, instead the boy turned around and glared at her. His bright red eyes stared at her it was almost like he was looking right through her, Susie was startled by this but shook it off quickly. 'If he isn't going to move, I'll make him!' She pushed the boy who took a step back with little resistance.
She had made it! Food was in her sight at last! Susie took a step forward and grabbed a tray and filled it to the brim with all kinds of food, it didn't matter to her food was food. The students behind her groaned, Susie always took a majority of the food from the cafeteria, it was a blessing to get a single chicken nugget or scoop of mashed potatoes after the Susienado went through it.
Susie, content with the amount of food on her tray walked over and found a seat in the corner. She preferred to be alone when she dug into her food, people are just a distraction from the food anyways. 'Like they would want to sit with you anyways' her mind seemed to say, 'Shut up!' she thought back to herself. She was perfectly content being a loner right? People would just drag her down, abandon her, hurt her.
Susie was so deep in thought she didn't even register when someone sat next to her, it was Kris. 'What the hell?' Susie thought, why had Kris sat next to her? is he mad? is he gonna take from me? Susie tried her best to think of a reply, to think of a insult, to think of SOMETHING. Yet no reply came out of her mouth, just her staring open mouthed at the boy next to her.
Kris began to take out a brown paper bag lunch, he had a sandwich, apple slices, and a Gatorade. 'Is he doing this to gloat? to make fun of me?', Susie thought, it was as if he was saying 'Hey look! i have lunch, you don't! i have loving parents'.
'YOU don't'
Susie finally gathered up enough courage to say something in reply.
"Why the hell did you sit next to me dweeb! Do you want to get your face bitten off, because i will do that!" Susie shouted in a loud voice, she was angry that he would even dare to sit next to her, was he doing this on a dare? if so she will make him regret doing it.
Kris sat there for a while, emotionless, he simply looked at Susie and then back at his lunch, he paused for a short while then picked up his apple slices and opened the bag, Susie was about to shout again when she noticed what Kris was doing.
'He was offering them to her?"
