Elsa looked around the bar. It was far from top shelf, but it didn’t look like the Department Of Health was investigating the kitchen, either. When the waitress came, she told her both her and Anna’s orders. She looked around and saw Anna pumping quarters in an ancient Pac-Man game cabinet. “21 and she still acts like she’s 12”, Elsa muttered. What was different now, was Anna kicking the machine, claiming it ate her quarters and swearing in terms that would make a sailor blush. With a huff, the redhead stomped towards their table.
“That damn machine ate half my quarters”, she grumbled. Her eyes lit up at see what Elsa had ordered for her. A burger with four patties, three slices of cheese on each one. There was onion rings on top, just under the bun. Along with the onion rings, there were four slices of bacon. The burger was almost soaked in barbecue sauce. What looked like three pounds of fries were next to it. With a look of true sisterly gratitude, she said, “How did you know?” Elsa chuckled and replied, “I asked them ‘What is the most unhealthy item you have?’, verbatim.” Anna grinned, “You’re the best sister I have, even if you use nerdy words like ‘verbatim’.” “I’m the only sister you have.”, Elsa said, rolling her eyes. “Well, that just means you don’t have any competition”, Anna grinned. She tore into her meal in a way that reminded Elsa of those old Looney Tunes cartoons. “Anna, slow down. You’ll choke. You can’t unhinge your jaw like a snake.” Anna stopped and looked at her sister. “That sounds like a challenge to me.”
After Anna had consumed what the waitress had said was called their ‘Heart Attack Special’ and Elsa her salad, the redhead walked up to the bar to fetch them drinks. As Elsa looked over to the bar, she saw a skinny guy with long black hair accosting her sister. Elsa narrowed her icy blue eyes and headed to the bar.
“Hey there, honey”, the man smirked at Anna. “You all alone? I could show you a real good time.” Eyes wary, Anna backed up half a step. “I’m here with someone.” The man only smirked more. “That’s just something you ladies use to brush off guys. Well, I ain’t being brushed off.” Anna’s eyes widened slightly, until she saw a hand on her shoulder. Small, pale and familiar. “Been lookin’ for you, honey. Want to dance?”, Elsa said. She gently pulled Anna away, and to the wide area that passed for a dance floor. She walked over to the jukebox, plunked in some quarters. As a kind of Latin song come on, she took Anna’s hands. She pulled her sister to herself.
Baby, I would climb the Andes slowly
Just to count the freckles on your body
Never could imagine there were only
Ten million ways to love somebody
Elsa led her around the dance floor. Anna’s eyes widened in surprise. She had never known Elsa to be this forward. Her sister’s icy blue eyes said one thing, fiercely and lovingly. ‘You are mine.’
Whenever, wherever
We’re meant to be to together.
I’ll be there and you’ll be near
And that’s the deal my dear
Elsa dipped Anna, then tenderly brushed the fingers of her left hand over Anna’s cheek, before whirling Anna and herself around again.
Thereover, hereunder
You’ll never have to wonder
We can always play by ear
But, that’s the deal my dear.
As the pan pipes faded, Elsa pulled Anna closer and soundly, passionately, kissed her. When they pulled apart the entire bar was looking at them. One person started to clap, then a few, then it was the whole bar. Except for the creep, who spat what looked like tobacco juice on the floor and stomped out. Now that it was all over, both sisters were blushing. Anna, at what Elsa did. Elsa, also at what she did.
They walked back to their table. “Holy shit, Elsa! I didn’t know you had that in you!”. Anna said, almost in awe. Still blushing, Elsa said, “Neither did I.” She looked at Anna, her eyes possessive. “I needed to let that asshole know you were mine.” Anna chuckled. “I would have just punched him.” “And that’s why I decided to show him in the way I did. Punching has always been your thing, not mine.” They sat on the same side of the booth, Anna snuggling against the blonde woman. “Well, you didn’t punch him, but, you sure kicked his ass.”, Anna smirked. “I am grateful for one thing, though.”, the older sister said. Anna looked at her in confusion. “I’m grateful we’re just visiting and live on the other side of the country. So, I can do more of this.”, Elsa said, eyes glittering. She gave Anna another heated kiss.
In a strangled voice, Anna called out, “Check, please!”
