Work Text:

The tiny hedgehog sniffed, nose crinkling at the weird smell assaulting his nose. He'd never smelt it before. He quickly slurped up the slimy yum. It was the time of hot and itch. The light often burned and the tiny icks crawling through his fur often drove him mad. No amount of rolling and scratching could get rid of them.

Since there wasn't much to do, the hedgehog quickly ran towards the source, frowning as long tendrils of grey seemed to attack the above. “O!” Blue ears perked up in anticipation. There was a strange creature! It wiggled and danced, it was also eating the trees and everything around it. That wasn't good.

Growling in anger, the hedgehog flung himself at the creature, ready to send it running. He screeched at the searing hot pain, eyes burning as he scrambled out of the creature’s grasp. The hedgehog rolled around on the ground in a panic, trying to shake off its burning claws. He was eventually released.

He couldn't touch it. A small whimper escaped him as he looked over his burnt fur. It hurt almost as much as the time he'd gotten attacked by those giant fluffy creatures. They'd tried to eat him.

How could he stop it from eating his home? He ran away, not knowing what to do. It was eating everything so fast!

The hedgehog coughed, breathing near the creature hurt. He needed to keep an eye on it though, just in case it showed any weaknesses. That creature needed to die!

Despite his intent to defeat the creature, the tiny hedgehog could do nothing but each as everything got eaten. All the yums, wasted, and his burrow got swallowed up.

Suddenly, he noticed something bad. He was running out of room. The creature was going to capture him! No longer wanting to watch the creature, he ran. He needed to find a safe place. The creature didn't like wet, maybe he could hide near it.

His lungs were starting to hurt, the tiny hedgehog could barely see, and even then, keeping his eyes open burned. He tripped, sliding into a ouchy bush. The tiny stinging cuts were ignored as he tore himself out of it and ran to the thunder wet. He hated this place, the wet fell from high making a loud noise, he couldn't hear dangers.

Grimacing, ears flat, the hedgehog slipped inside the rocky cave behind the wall of wet. He didn't know where to go, but the creature hated the wet. Hopefully it wouldn't seek him out here.

He waited and waited, tiny lungs burning as the icky bad air trickled inside. Breathing hurt, but the hedgehog was scared to go to sleep. He busied himself with licking his fur, it was all dark and gross.

Rolling in shallow wet was a tempting idea, but then the wet would taste bad. His nose crinkled, was the wall of wet darker? Did the creature make the wet bad?

Whimpering, the hedgehog scurried deeper into the cave. The wet from this cave was more yummy than the wet outside. It came from a crack in the ground. A weary smile appeared as he noted that the yum wet’s origin was still clean.

Drinking wet was important, especially in the time of hot and itch. He got sick whenever he didn't drink enough or somehow managed to drink the wrong wet. He could last a lot longer without yums compared to lasting without wet.

Since this wet was always flowing, the hedgehog wasn't too worried about making it dirty. He dipped his paws in, hissing at the sting. That was fine, wet always sting when he was hurt. It should feel better soon.

The hedgehog slowly slipped his whole body into the wet. It reached up to his neck. It was a bit scary, but this wet was slow, it wouldn't yank him away like the other wets.

He scratched and ran his claws all through his fur, occasionally dunking his head. He didn't do this often because he disliked the area. Since he was here though, he may as well give his tongue some rest.

Soggy and wet, the hedgehog wheezed as he pulled himself out of the wet. Doing a full body shake to remove what wet from his fur that he could.

The hedgehog couldn't run around to dry himself so he just settled with staying a bit wet. Being wet in the hot and itch time was easier than in the white sleepy cold time.

The hedgehog suddenly stumbled, head throbbing along with his lungs. Maybe if he rested, the creature will have gone away when he awakes.

He woke up feeling sick. The hedgehog crawled to the side, throwing up before moving to the wet. He took a deep drink, his throat hurt, his eyes hurt, and his head hurt. Hunger and light headedness gnawed at him. Hopefully the creature had left.

Both fearful and curious, the hedgehog snuck out of the cage, ears flat. Wet was falling from the sky. Everything was dark.

Whining, he touched a tree. It cracked. Were the yums hiding? Or did the creature take all the yums?

He ran, around the whole land before returning to the cave. Almost everything was dark. Only a small area hadn't been touched by the creature.

Sniffing, the hedgehog cried. He knew he couldn't eat too many yums now, that would mean no more future yums. He'd already made that mistake with the long bodied fuzzy yums. He ate all of them.

He wouldn't be able to eat fuzzies until next hot and itch time. He needed to give them time to wrestle, get fat, and pop out tiny yums.

Sure crawly yums were good, but the hedgehog didn't want to just eat those. How would he get plump enough for that sleepy cold time if he just ate the crawlies?

The hedgehog stalked back and forth, paws nervously scratching his many itches. Maybe he could catch the stuff from the icky wet? Sometimes a slimy thing washed up.They always smelled yucky, but maybe he could eat it?

Notes:

I hope you all enjoyed more baby feral Sonic. I love him so much, he must be protected.
