No, No Why Did I Choose This

Summary:

Ash realized her regrets as she watches her best friend die.

Day 1: Wrong choice

Work Text:

Pound, pound, I have to save him!” Ash's mind circled this thought over and over again.

“Listen to me, you're making the wrong choice, Sal wasn't lying!” she raised her voice, maybe just maybe they would hear her.

“WAIT!” It was too late, the guy turned the electric chair on and she watched one of her closest friends she knew since she was a freshman in high school get electrocuted to death for trying to save the town he loved so much and people he had let him die as a 28 year old.

“Death time at 6:13pm”

“Sal, no you can't be dead, no please. I am so sorry for causing this, this is all my fault. I made so many bad decisions like not trusting when you, Larry and Todd said they're ghosts and I laughed at your ridiculousness of that claim. I testify against you in a time where you needed me the most. You were so tired by the time you got into that court room.”

Ash's whole body trembled as her legs felt like trying to stand on jello. As tears streamed down her cheeks the two people who were responsible for operating what killed her best friend.

“Hello lady, was this guy someone you knew?”

“Yes, yes he was one of my best friends!”

“Well since he will not be needing this mask of his for whatever reason he was wearing it.”

“Well he definitely needed it, I saw what his face looked like underneath, it isn't pretty” the other guy chimed in.

Ash immediately as she heard this she roughly grabbed Sal's mask and walked out of the before she did anything stupid that would get her arrested for assault.

“This is all your fault. If you're actually a good friend you would have believed in what he was saying instead of treating him like a fucking criminal”

Her brain screamed this over and over in her head as got on her motorcycle. Trying to stop the tears from ruining her vision.

“Maybe in another lifetime I would have made the right choice to save you.”
