Summary
When you're trying to save the world, the last place you want to be is behind a desk.
Lunai’s planet is rotting. The Galactic Security Agency has a solution, but to her people, it is heresy. She joins the Agency as a hero-in-training, hoping to one day forge a compromise that will leave her world’s soul intact.
Years of training earn her the title of hero, but graduation only leads to her intern year. Every hero starts at the bottom, buried in bureaucracy and violence alike. Lunai expects the work to be brutal, but she doesn’t expect her mentor assignment: Bliss, the half-human prodigy and beloved face of the GSA.
Working with Bliss attracts unwanted attention. An ancient god sees Lunai as a champion. A semi-omnipresent rock sees her as the path to his utopia. Bliss may not see her at all.
Heroism isn’t clean. Every answer has its price, but silence costs everything.
Targeted damage or total catastrophe? Someone has to decide. Something has to give.
