Chapter Text
Giyuu was tired, hungry and bleeding. But he blames that last part on Sanemi. Being pushed out of a helicopter isn’t fun, nor is it painless. He questions why Mother not only put him with Sanemi and Obanai in general, but also assigned them to the same cover job. But regardless, he has no choice in the matter
Pushing open his door and entering the apartment, he looked at his two cats. Mother had named them, the white one was Satoru, the black one was Suguru. He didn’t exactly get it, but they were nice companions for when he was lonely and his sister couldn’t visit. Satoru meowed at him after bugging Suguru again, either looking for treats or protecting from the scowl he was given by Suguru. “Can you two not get along..?” Giyuu spoke, his tone weary, and yet, Satoru was picked up and snuggled against Giyuu’s chest.
He walked to the kitchen, the cats trailing along behind him. He threw leftover takeout into the microwave to heat up. He opened up two cans of cat food to be fed to the two furballs atop the counter beside him. He ate his food, chewing slowly and throwing away the trash.
Giyuu limped towards his bathroom, pulling down the medkit with a wince. He quickly disinfected and wrapped all the injuries, already thinking of excuses to explain what happened when inevitably someone sees and starts to question. He laid down onto the bed, already dressed in basic black pajamas. He felt two bodies join him. He tangled his hands into the cat’s fur, feeling sleep pull at his mind.
Giyuu was forcefully awakened by the sun shining across his face. A few minutes later, his phone alarm blared on the desk beside him. Satoru knocked the offensive item off and onto the floor with a soft hiss. Giyuu stared blankly at the device, leaning down with a small wince to pick it up. He checked the time as he turned off the alarm.
He rolled out of bed, entering his bathroom…as he kicked out both cats and closed the door. After a quick shower and change of bandages, he blow dried his hair and tied it up. Giyuu walked into his room and changed into a blue tracksuit. He fed both cats and left his apartment. He walked to the academy, entering the teacher’s lounge. Thankfully, the only other people in the room were Himejima and Kocho.
He sat down and pulled up the grade book, he sighed, “Why did Mother assign me to this job? Especially with him,” He thought to himself as he logged in grades.
The rest of the teachers began to funnel in slowly, filling in the seats and empty space with noise. Or in Obanai’s case: awkward lovesick stares at Mitsuri. Even Giyuu felt embarrassed.
“Giyuu! What happened to you?” A booming voice asked from behind him, “Did you get into a fight?”
Giyuu looked up to see Tengen. He was standing behind him, peering at the bandages covering his hands and wrists.
“My cats scratched me..” Giyuu mumbled, looking away and tugging his sleeves down more.
“What’d ya do? Try to bathe them or something?” Tengen asked, his face twitching into an amused smirk
“No…One fell from-“ Giyuu was interrupted by Sanemi roughly slamming the door open and stalking in. He went over to the coffee maker, starting to brew a cup, “Can you not be so rough with everything all the time? Not everybody likes it”
“That’s what she-“
“Don’t,” Sanemi’s voice sharply interrupted Tengen before he turned to Giyuu, “The fuck are you to tell me what to do? Do you think you’re better than me?!”
“No, I’m just not like you,” Giyuu replied, his face and tone blank.
Before Sanemi could attempt to fight Giyuu, Obanai’s phone rang and cut through the tension. He looked at the screen and swiftly left the room to answer it.
Moments later, both Sanemi and Giyuu’s phones rang simultaneously. They both answered the phone and left the room. They stood outside with Obanai all on the phones.
“Hello, Mother…” The three all spoke in unison to the approaching figure
