Chapter Text
“What the hell are you guys doing?”
There he was, Nagisa, standing in the middle of his living room, watching Motoha crush Lufel with a pillow, Shun with ramen bolws strewn across the kitchen floor, Riko soaked from head to toe and Shoki with scratch marks as he held the Orange Tabby. All of them with varying degrees of embarrassment
He just went to buy soda, the store wasn't that far away, it didn't take more than ten minutes!
Yeah, he may have crossed paths with Tomiyama-san on the way which led him to run into Leo-san who was also going to Minami's store which led to the three of them engaging in a longer conversation than he'd intended....
OK, fine, it took more than ten minutes, Zoshigaya is a small neighborhood and he happens to know a lot of people now, but he didn't think things would escalate that quickly!
The blonde straightens up and lets the owl go. "Nagisa! Uh..." She smooths her skirt anxiously and looks around. "It's not what it looks like..."
"That demon cat wanted to steal my meat!" Lufel yelled as he flew towards the table.
"Riko and I tried to grab it, but he knocked over the food," Shun said, scratching the back of his head in embarrassment.
"Lufel got into a fight with the cat and almost lost his feathers." Riko brushed a white feather out of her hair. "I slipped with the soup and fell."
"Motoha and I separated them, but he kept scratching me," said Shoki lifting the cat higher, who still had his claws digging into the poor half-Italian's hands.
"And you know how's Lufel when it comes to meat!"
Tabby hisses to further prove her point, and Lufel responds with a squeak of his own.
"So...! Emm... Don't just stand there, say something!"
What was he supposed to say? His kitchen, dirty. His dinner, ruined. His friends, a mess. And he's the one who has to do something about it?
“I spent hours cleaning the house,” he began. They all sank in guilt, especially Lufel, he'd seen him clean it thoroughly, after all. The redhead felt a little bad, it hadn't been anyone's fault that Tabby knocked everything down.
He sighs, rubbing his eyes and walks over to Shoki to grabs the cat carefully, pulling the claws out of his friend's skin “I'll order food, but you'll clean this up” orders in a bossy tone.
“Yes, Leader.” They accept sheepishly
Nagisa grabbed the cleaning supplies and handed them out. Then he went to the entrance, closed the door, and let the cat go.
He then hunched over, trying to hold back a laugh.
His friends made a mess trying to catch a cat.
They, the Phantom Thieves. The ones who can defeat opponents twice their size and weight, see things that would make anyone pee their pants, and laugh in the face of certain death.
Defeated by a cat.
The stupidity of the matter almost brings him to his knees, but he pulls himself together and walks to Heritage Kitchen. Maybe he can ask Yamagoshi–san a favor.
