Work Text:
The sun is just barely starting to rise as Korsica climbs out of bed. Yawning, she stretches her arms above her head. They twinge a little.
Looking over her shoulder, she finds the bed...empty. She frowns.
It doesn't take her long to get around. Nor does it to find Peppermint, who is right where Korsica knew she'd be: asleep at her desk.
With a sigh, she gently shakes her shoulder. When she only gets a sleepy mumble in response, she does it again—a little harder.
"Huh...whuh...?" Peppermint shifts, lifting her head up a little.
Korsica can't help but smile. "Hey, Pepper. I only need ya up for a moment."
"Mmm...ok."
Carefully, she helps her sit up and get her chair turned around. Then, Korsica leans down and scoops her up. Peppermint lets out a squeak. Korsica stifles a laugh.
The journey back to the bedroom is fairly easy, and getting Peppermint situated in bed is even simpler. She's back asleep as soon as her head hits the pillow.
Korsica watches her for a moment. Then, with a soft sigh, she leans down and kisses her on the head.
