No one expected it.
The teasers had been dropping for days – blurred silhouettes, a pair of hands nearly touching, two blurred figures sitting across each other. Korean variety show, We Got Married had been a staple to the world of K-Entertainment and the buzz around the show is never ending.
But when the names were dropped, the world stopped… only for a couple of minutes and then proceeded to explode.
Not in celebration, not in rage… just pure and unbridled shock. It was the kind of announcement that made people slap themselves. Is it real? Is it not? The kind of news that made fans of both groups refresh the announcement page at least five times because surely, surely, this was a typo.
And yet…
[BREAKING] MBC’s We Got Married Returns with an unexpected pair!
The wait is over – We Got Married is BACK with a brand-new season, and in this season, our couple is definitely a pair you never expected!
Introducing:
Nation’s Heartthrob, JINU of Saja Boys and Pop Star Royalty, RUMI of HUNTR/X!
That’s right! Two of this generation’s most talked about K-Pop Idols are tying the knot… only on this show, of course! From chart-topping performances to now sharing a newlywed house, this duo is ready to show the fans a whole new side of themselves – off-stage, unfiltered (mostly), and unexpectedly romantic?

No one had predicted it. Not even fans who specialized in unearthing unreleased schedules and managers’ cousin’s private accounts. Not the media outlets who had all of the resources in the world to stalk and follow idols. Especially, not the fandom of both groups.
For newer fans, it didn’t seem strange. Just… a surprising combination considering that both groups have always gone against in each other in awards, charting, and even ISAC. HUNTR/X and Saja Boys were considered as industry rivals. But older fans know why this pairing was so surprising.
Jinu and Rumi weren’t really a new pair. Despite the fanwars, the two idols were previously linked together in multiple rumors. There were allegations that they were exes or that they were dating. Some fans note the tension between the two, always avoiding glances, never speaking to each other, only bows just to be respectful. Pre-debut fans note that they can’t be strangers, it’s not uncommon knowledge that Jinu and Rumi trained under the same label before Rumi was inevitably pulled out and transferred to her mother’s label to debut with the two members of the group that we now know as HUNTR/X so they couldn’t possibly be strangers. Others also point out that Saja Boys’ label’s CEO, Gwi-ma, is Rumi’s father. Despite her parents’ divorce, it would be impossible for Rumi to not be aware of her father’s idols.
Whenever allegations rose, both labels would release a statement that would disprove it.

We would like to address the growing speculations and misinformation currently circulating online regarding our artist, RUMI of HUNTR/X, and GM Entertainment’s artist, JINU of Saja Boys.
First and foremost, the allegations between the two artists having been involved in a romantic relationship or are currently in one are completely untrue. Please refrain from spreading such rumors as not only it is false, but it is also harmful to the reputations of both individuals.
While it is true that both RUMI and JINU briefly overlapped during their trainee period under a joint program by GM Entertainment, they have not maintained any personal relationship since their debut.
We ask fans and the public to respect the privacy of both artists and refrain from spreading unfounded rumors.

And that was that. Fans apologized to both groups for participating in the spread of the rumors. Others got into debates and arguments on who should be blamed. The curtain in this drama was closed.
But not for good.
The announcement hit like a match in a room full of gas.

Within hours, fan forums were flooded with timelines, memes, photos, speculation threads, clips from award shows, pre-debut videos. Everyone was in shambles. The teaser for the episode dropped at midnight. Two figures walking into the room on split screen for dramatic effect, unknowing for what’s in store for them.
Jinu settled on the table first – flowers on hand, face composed. He sat politely and talked to the staff in his signature charismatic and sweet persona.
“Can you guys give me a hint on who it is? Just a teeny tiny bit of hint?” Jinu joked with the staff, curious about his partner.
“Sorry, Jinu. You’d have to wait until she arrives.” One of the producers replied. “I think you’d be surprised once you see her.”
This got Jinu visibly nervous. He kept glancing on the door and fidgeting with the flowers in his hand.
Then, the door opened.
Rumi stepped in with a smile, prepared to greet everyone with her usual energy. She stops to turn to the table Jinu is sitting on, and her eyes widen in instant recognition.
Jinu, hearing the door open, turns to see who it was.
Both idols froze, recognizing each other immediately – unbridled tension was thick not even the sharpest knife in the world could cut it. After a brief moment, as if they realized that they were in fact, being filmed, they smiled. Not fake, not real – rehearsed.
And then that’s where the teaser ends.
To fans, it felt like a dare. Like someone behind the scenes had cracked open an old, sealed box just to see what would happen, what reaction they would get.
Some were furious.
Some were ecstatic.
But most of them were confused.
And at the center of it all, neither members of HUNTR/X nor Saja Boys’s said a single word.
Not on Weverse, not on Instagram, not even on their Twitter accounts. Only the company accounts reposted the announcement. The rest? Silence.
They let it sit. Let the word spread… or explode.
