The Star that Parted from the Moon

Summary:

One fulfills the first phase of her plan, which is breaking out of the moon.

Work Text:

She’s sitting down in the rough stone surface, running her fake hands around the floor.

They look around, squinting their single eye to look through the place after losing their night vision. They can barely see the masks of the Algebraliens scattered around the floor. On the wall across, they see the little markings of the same, each crossed out, signaling her thirst for revenge.

She hates them. She hates them all. They all wronged her. Even her beloved Seven wronged her.

They took Three away from them.

She groans, strongly grabbing and shaking her head to try and get rid of those thoughts.

They turn away from that wall and back to what they call ‘the escape’, for this wall has had a massive crack for a very long time. They aren’t sure how long exactly. They are barely even sure if they remember how time works.

She slowly approaches the surface, getting a better glimpse of the crack. Her eyes glimmer upon it. The only source of light she has is that of her own body. Not even her antenna lights up anymore.

They run a finger across the crack, feeling the sensation of the uneven rock. It brings them joy.

She has heard a lot of things during their forced stay on the moon. A group of people flew all the way from their home planet to it to ‘avoid getting the twinkle’ whatever that meant. Then she felt as if the moon was conjoined, likely with said planet, as the people finally were able to leave it and go back to their home.

Oh how they miss their own home.

Then it cracked, thanks to having lightning strike it. One remembers the way her emotions and thoughts got messed up at the sight of a possible escape. She heard in pure happiness when some team tried to repair it, failing unsuccessfully thanks to some member’s stupidity. Ha! Little does that member know what he has done.

The best thing they’ve heard, though, was that voice. That voice they knew a bit too well.

One presses both of her hands against the crack and begins pushing heavily. Small cracks begin to form, but they’re not big enough to fully break the surface. One knows that this would all be easier if she still had her power. She curses those idiots she once called her friends for taking them away from her.

Four, their own brother, was the one who called for One to be trapped in the moon. Two, the one they called her best friend, was the one that sealed it shut with her inside. As if it already wasn’t enough taking away Three. As if it already wasn’t enough turning Seven against them.

She punches the wall, screaming. No success in getting it to break.

They walk a bit further, their body tired and their eye full of rage.

She shuts her eyes and teleports back to the little space in her mind. An observatory colored blue and open for the stars. She sits down on the orange couch, staring at the sky with impatience. She spawns the Two mask that she created herself, gazing at it angrily until she throws it away across the room.

They let out another scream, gripping their blue fur and their tail spiking.

She grabs the mask again and teleports back to that stupid dark moon. She throws it against the crack. It doesn’t do anything. Not as if she was expecting it to actually do something.

They run back to it and begin pressing and pushing it with as much strength and magic as they have left. They beg for someone, anyone, to come help them. They beg for 2763. They beg for the Infinity. They beg for Three. They beg for Seven. They beg for Two himself.

Rage fills her body, only making her stronger. She pushes even harder. At this point, everything hurts, both physically and mentally.

But then she hears more cracking. Cracking that actually sounds like something will happen, and she continues pushing. Her mind runs with the thought that she will finally have her freedom.

They pull back after a while and gaze at the crack with a smile that goes ear-to-ear. That crack is now surrounded by a circular one. A circle that will open up the first door to their vengeance.

She lets out a short giggle and then delivers the final heavy punch against the crack. She prays in her mind to whatever lord is listening to her anymore.

As soon as their fist touches the wall, a pang of magic runs through its gaps, illuminating the room in a nice shade of blue.

The wall begins falling forward to the outside. A bit of light from the stars emerges into the interior of the moon. One’s jaw drops.

Finally, it hits the floor, making a loud noise and releasing dust and smoke around.

One takes a breath. The air feels different.

She stares out, greeted by the lovely starry night sky she hadn’t seen in so long. The green shade of trees beyond. Soft yellow grass covering the planet’s surface that dances with the chilly wind.

They step closer to the open gap in the moon, looking around at the new world that has just opened up to them. Their breathing quickens. Excitement runs through their body.

”Hey guys!” She calls out to the horizon. To an invisible crowd that was waiting for her arrival. She is very sure she can hear someone applauding and shouting for her. She victoriously places her foot on the hole, and her smile widens.

They laugh.

More.

And more.

She happily jumps out and begins running around the place like a little kid, cheering for herself and herself only. Her fur flies alongside the wind that runs into her. The soft grass is felt with every step.

They stop to gaze upwards at the stars and constellations, giggling in pure happiness and victory.

She missed this feeling. She missed it so much.

They stop right on top of a hill and look forward. They can see the moon, the ruins of a small house, and a massive hotel standing in front of her sight. On the side, a large sign hangs from its walls.

One squints, and it reads, ‘Two’s Hotel’

They give a step back. It’s him. It’s really him who is here.

Her attention is then switched to the main door of the hotel, where two figures walk out happily chattering with one another. One of those figures is shaped like a gate covered in periwinkle paint with legs. The other figure…

Is Two themselves.

One quickly teleports back to the observatory. They scatter through the place and find the little plant they keep beside the bookshelf. They scan it until they find the photo of Two that they stuck to one of its branches and pull it out, looking at the broken piece of paper for the first time with joy. They have no idea where anyone else is, but they found Two. The one that sealed the moon shut.

She teleports back and then heads to the moon, where she picks up the masks she created and takes them to the observatory. She spawns a small box she was keeping away and forcefully sticks them in it. The box is taken away and hidden in a special place before she heads back outside.

They look at the hotel. The doors are shut, and both figures are gone. Instead, they are now lying on the floor, still chatting together, gazing at the stars above.

He doesn’t know what is coming to him.

The first part of her plan is done, which was getting out of that prison she was sent to by those she would rather call strangers.

Now it was time for the next phase.

They were going to get revenge.

She was going to make Two feel what she felt.

They were going to have all the power, and, for the first time, people were going to respect them. If nobody did so before, they would now.

And she was going to make sure of it, one way or another.
