Work Header

you've got kudos!

Summary:

Juntae wasn’t embarrassed about what he’s a fan of. He liked to read and watch BL, and he sometimes wrote fanfiction about his favorite characters and ships too. So what? That was completely normal! A guy’s gotta have some hobby.

But what wasn’t a little normal, however, was that he was writing fanfiction about his friends. Well, not exactly about them. Just very much inspired by them and their story.

-

or, Juntae writes fanfiction about Suho and Sieun. Suho finds out. Chaos ensues.

Notes:

wrote all of this on my phone in a couple of hours like a man possessed if it's ooc, just look away

Work Text:

Sehun reaches out, fingers trembling. “Sungho-yah…”

Sungho leans in, equally nervous.

The tension in the air is palpable, like one wrong move would change everything between them forever. To step back and keep things the way they are or to take one more step forward and have everything they have both ever wanted?

Sehun caresses Sungho’s face lightly, sweeping his thumb across his cheek. Sungho closes his eyes, and waits, air frozen in his lungs.

Sehun slides his hands around Sungho’s neck, tugs, pulling him closer—

“What are you doing?”

Juntae slams his laptop shut, more forcefully than intended. “Nothing!”

Sieun, his dear beloved friend, cocks an eyebrow at him but says nothing. He drops into the seat next to Juntae, setting his things down. The library is quiet, which is why Juntae notices how hard his heart is still pounding from the shock.

Yeon Sieun, seriously. Maybe Juntae should give him a collar with a bell with how eerily quiet he moves about.

Juntae pauses, squinting into space. Huh. A cat hybrid fanfiction…

“Juntae-yah,” Sieun calls softly from beside him. “What’s gotten into you?”

Juntae jolts to attention. “Ah, nothing, Sieun-ah!” He assures him a little too loudly, judging by the dirty look he got from another student across the room. Juntae smiles at Sieun. “Are you here to work too?”

Sieun hums, before he settles in to work. He never says much when he starts to get into it. Juntae is naturally quiet too, but nothing like Sieun is. Still, he enjoys his friend’s company, whether in silence or in conversation.

Juntae’s fingers itched to open the laptop, but he knew the word document he was writing on was left on the screen. It would flash back on once he opened his laptop, and his friend could see.

It wasn’t like it was porn , but Juntae could still feel mortification creeping in at the thought of any of his friends reading what he wrote. Especially what he was just writing. Because one of the subjects was right next to him.

It’s not even Juntae’s fault, exactly. They’re the ones who just can’t talk it out and resolve their problems on their own. They had to make everyone else around them witness their gay hopeless pining that is actually completely not unrequited.

Juntae isn’t the only one getting frustrated with them, either. He, Hyuntak, and Humin have weekly meetings at the ramen place around the corner just to vent about the two. Hyuntak is close to strangling Suho to his senses, while Humin is making a herculean effort to not just spontaneously confess to Sieun that Suho loves him.

Everyone else is suffering for it, Juntae included. He had to let out his thoughts and frustrations somewhere . Maybe if he manifested hard enough through his writing, his friends would actually get together for real and end all their suffering.

(And, well, they’re both just so cute with each other, can you really blame him?)

Besides, he doesn’t even use their real names! None would be the wiser.

At that moment, everything went quiet. The sun was warm on his skin, the breeze was gentle and fresh, and Sehun loved Sungho. Is in love with him. Still, even after all this time. Loved him when he was covered in blood, avenging him; loved him as he felt hopeless by his bedside, and loves him still, now, as he’s here in front of Sehun, real and alive.

Not a dream, not a hallucination. Not a nightmare.

Realizing this felt like a release of breath held on for too long, relieving.

“Have you been living well?” said the unreal boy in front of him. Alive, alive, alive.

Sungho.

Sehun made an affirmative voice, unable to find his voice still. He couldn’t stop staring at Sungho, hungry for how alive he looked now, after months and months of looking one foot out of the world of the living. Sehun wanted to run to him, wanted to throw his arms around him and feel just how alive and warm he was.

He stays rooted to the spot.

“They’re at it again,” Hyuntak mutters, resentfully eating one of the cookies Juntae got for all of them.

“You act like they’re actively having sex in front of us,” Baku says. But he also has a fascinated-disgusted look on his face.

“They might as well be!” Hyuntak hisses, crunching even angrier on the cookie. “Look at how they’re basically all over each other!”

Hyuntak is exaggerating, Juntae thinks, staring at the said couple from above his phone. It’s not level 10 yet, at least. Sieun and Suho sit a few steps below them on the bleachers. It was a nice day out; they’d decided to hang out by the basketball court to have some snacks before they played. Sieun is sitting with his head buried in a textbook yet again, but what was jarring was the human puppy on his lap.

Suho is lying down, head on Sieun’s lap, gazing up at the other boy shamelessly. He’s got a dazed look in his eyes, but he also seems hyperfocused on Sieun’s face. He’s staring so intensely Juntae wonders how Sieun could focus at all. But then Juntae’s eyes flick toward Sieun and notices the red creeping up the back of his neck.

Ugh. They’re so ! Juntae can’t even.

This scene is literally prime fanfiction material. How are they not together yet?

“Ah, give them a break, Gogo. They’re still in that honeymoon phase. Plus, our son is in love! Let him be,” says Baku.

“They’re not even together!” cries Hyuntak. “How could they be acting like this? We don’t act like that and we’re friends!”

Baku cocks his head to the side, considering. “D’ya wanna cuddle like that with me?”

Below them, Suho turns, burying his head in Sieun’s stomach. “Mm.”

“GROSS,” yells Hyuntak, unable to restrain himself anymore. He throws a juicebox aimed at Suho’s thighs. “UNSTICK, YOU ASSHOLES!”

Suho yelps, sitting up. “That hurt!” Sieun turns around, whipfast, glaring something nasty.

“You shouldn’t have done that, Gogo,” Baku says, cackling. “You activated kitty Sieun’s fight mode.”

Hyuntak scoffs. “Stop being disgusting and eat your food already.”

“Oh, hey, it’s your favorite, Sieun-ah,” says Suho, offense forgotten, picking up the juicebox. He offers it to Sieun, whose eyes soften immediately before taking the juice.

Ah, what the hell. Juntae needs to write this down. The readers would love this.

The day of reckoning comes in the form of Ahn Suho himself.

They’ve all gotten closer with Suho ever since they met him (properly, when Sieun introduced them a few days after he woke up) and he was seamlessly incorporated into their group, like the space was always meant to be taken up by him. Now, they felt more complete. Sieun smiled a lot more, too; his shoulders relaxed and his eyes soft.

So, as their entire group gathered at Sieun’s apartment for a chicken party, as Humin called it, and a study session, as Sieun insisted hopelessly, Juntae had let his guard down.

“Hey, Juntae,” Suho calls from his seat on the couch, munching loudly on a potato chip. Where Sieun would have pushed Humin off and scolded him for getting crumbs all over, he just sighed fondly and leaned closer against Suho, nearly dozing off.

“Yes?” Juntae says, distracted. His favorite Haikyuu !! fanartist just uploaded a new mini comic on Twitter, and he was dutifully translating it for the international fans. Honestly, it would be a waste if no one else got to read this masterpiece.

“Can I borrow your laptop? I just have to look something up real quick,” says Suho.

“Sure, it’s in my bag, hold on.” Juntae is about to save the file to return to later, when Suho stops him, shaking his head.

“It’s alright, I’ll get it.” He turns to gaze at Sieun sleeping on his shoulder, smiling. “It’s in Sieun’s bedroom, right? I’ll just put him to bed first.”

Suho was already standing up with Sieun in his arms and walking away before Juntae could even say anything.

Wow. That needs to be on the next chapter. Who the hell knew Suho was so strong?

To the side, Humin and Hyuntak were staring as they ate the last pieces of chicken. “Ew. But fascinating,” says Hyuntak. “How could he get so close without his head getting bitten off? It still amazes me even after a year of watching them.”

“Ah, what do you mean, Sieunnie is just a cuddly cat,” says Baku, chuckling. “Although, I never not get a glare even when I just ruffle his hair but Suho gets to princess carry him away and tuck him to bed? Wow.”

Hyuntak rolls his eyes, pushing him over. “ No one likes getting their hair ruffled, you asshole. What are we, your kids?”

Juntae already knows what’s coming next. It’s like Hyuntak intentionally provokes him to get the reaction out of Humin.

Humin lunges at Hyuntak, sticky chicken sauce fingers and all. They roll around the floor, not at all quiet and considerate of their sleeping host. Humin ruffles and plays with Hyuntak’s hair, delighting in Hyuntak’s struggles in trying to get him off.

Juntae stares at them. Hmm. Maybe Suho and Sieun aren’t the only idiots pining for their respective best friends?

Juntae itches to get his hands on his laptop again. Ah, he should really continue that fanfiction he was writing before. He was getting to a really good part, before —

Juntae stops. His laptop. Suho. The open word document.

Juntae stands up, stumbling in his haste to get to Sieun’s room. Maybe he hasn’t taken the laptop yet, maybe he’s still kissing Sieun goodnight, maybe —

The door slams open. Juntae stops abruptly.

Suho is standing in front of him, eyes wide, mouth parted. In his hands is Juntae’s open laptop. He looks spooked out of his mind.

Why did he never put a password on the damn thing?

Awkward is an understatement to describe the situation right now. Juntae wanted to die.

Suho acted like nothing happened, and they all went home. But Juntae saw the opened word document. Suho definitely saw it.

So why wasn’t he saying anything?

Juntae felt like any day could be his last. He doesn’t even know Suho that well. Is he going to kill Juntae? He surely will. It’s disgusting. An invasion of privacy. Creepy.

They won’t want to be friends with him anymore.

Juntae trudges through the halls of his building, miserable. He’s just about to enter his next class, when his phone buzzes in his pocket.

Ahn Suho (3:46 PM)

juntae

Juntae gulps. He quickly finds his seat in class and slumps down. He’s been dreading this.

Suho doesn’t reply for a few minutes. Juntae is going to die. Suho might not kill him but he will surely tell Sieun, won’t he? Sieun will kill him.

What the hell.

Sehun isn’t denying him anything and it’s making Sungho dizzy.

Sungho asks him to get him water first — just like when they first met at Sehun’s doorstep a lifetime ago. But before Sungho even finishes his request, the glass of water is already in his hands. Sehun blinks at him until Sungho drinks it all up, then Sehun nods, satisfied. Sungho teases the boundary; he asks Sehun to feed him, hold his hand, hug him. And Sehun does it all without a second of hesitation. Like he also wanted to do all of those things, and was just waiting to be told he was allowed.

That was ridiculous. Sungho couldn’t ever deny Sehun anything either.

It didn’t feel like guilt, though he knew Sehun still felt some of that. It didn’t feel like pity either. It felt something warmer, golden. Familiar.

If Sungho asked Sehun to kiss him, would he?

Juntae sent him the link, and prayed to all that is holy that he would wake up from this nightmare.

Sieun poked him in the arm. “What’s wrong?”

Juntae must really look out of it for Sieun to be distracted from studying. Juntae laughs nervously. “Ah… has Suho told you anything—odd— lately?”

“No,” says Sieun, slowly. “Not anything aside from the usual.”

“The usual being?”

“His weird dreams of flying cows or dancing chairs, and whatnot,” says Sieun. He turns a page, but his eyes don’t seem to move. “Why?”

Juntae gulps. “Well—”

A loud voice interrupts him. “Juntae-ssi! My dear friend!”

Juntae startles as a heavy arm settles on his shoulder. He turns to look at Suho, confused and a little scared. “S-Suho!”

Suho grins at him, a little manic. “Juntae! Hello!”

Sieun glances between them, skeptical. His eyes linger a beat too long on the arm around Juntae. Juntae hurriedly shrugs Suho off. “What are you two up to?”

“Nothing!” Suho loudly denies. “I just need Juntae’s help with something.”

“With what?” Sieun prods. Juntae is starting to sweat. Good lord. Why was he born a fudanshi?

“Um. Math,” Suho stutters. Sieun is quiet, staring at both of them.

“I could’ve helped you with that. You should’ve told me,” Sieun says, quietly. Oh god, did he sound hurt

Why was Juntae in the middle of this kind of situation?

He tries to squirm away, but Suho grips his arm tight.  “I didn’t wanna bother you with something trivial, Sieunnie. This is nothing. I’ll see you later for dinner, okay? Let me borrow Juntae for a sec!” He winks, before he bodily drags Juntae out of the library. Juntae is helpless to follow.

They stop at a bench beneath a tree. There are a few people lounging about in the field, but none within their vicinity. Suho wouldn’t kill him with witnesses, surely?

“You, seriously,” Suho starts, then stops. “How could you write that about us?”

“You really read it?” whispers Juntae, horrified.

“It was about me! And Sieun! Our lives! How could I not?” Suho yells, then looks around frantically as if paranoid someone would hear them.

“I’m really sorry,” Juntae says, glasses slipping down his nose. He twists his fingers. “If you’re creeped out by it, I can delete it immediately—”

Suho sighs, then sits down on the bench. Juntae gingerly sits down beside him. “I’m not mad, Juntae. It’s just—” He pauses, runs his hand through his hair. “Am I really that obvious?”

Well. Juntae wasn’t expecting this.

Suho wasn’t mad or disgusted. He wanted to ask if he was obviously in love with his best friend? Juntae feels like he’s having an out of body experience. This was ridiculous.

“Alright, I get it, get that look off your face.” Suho laughs, disbelieving.

They stay quiet. Juntae has no idea how to proceed from this. What was the protocol for when your friend finds out you write gay fanfiction about him and his best friend? Thank God Juntae kept the rating Mature.

“I read it all,” Suho starts again.

“Oh, god,” Juntae groans. “All fifty chapters? How could you even stand to read all that!”

Suho shrugs, unconcerned. “It was embarrassing at first, sure. But I got used to it. That Sungho — real subtle name changes, by the way — his thoughts are kinda like mine. So.” He looks away this time, embarrassed. “Good characterization, I guess?”

“This is so weird,” whispers Juntae.

“Tell me about it,” mutters Suho. “There is just one thing you wrote incorrectly, though.”

“Huh? What?”

Suho smiles crookedly, sadly. “Sieun isn’t in love with me. He’s just sweet and kind, and likes me. As a friend.”

Juntae stares at him, dumbfounded. He shouldn’t have been scared of this guy at all. This idiot. Wow.

“I literally wrote fanfiction about you guys because the UST was off the charts!” Juntae cries. “Everyone else knows you guys are together! No one ever approaches either of you because everyone is scared of both of you!”

“UST?” mouths Suho, bewildered.

“Yes! The unresolved sexual tension!”

“We do not have sexual tension,” Suho deadpans. “What the fuck.”

“You could be having nasty gay sex instead if you just confessed,” Juntae snorts, then snaps his mouth shut. His eyes widened and darted to look at a shocked Suho. “Oops. I definitely don’t think about that.”

“Don’t mention that again.” Suho warns. Pauses. “Wait. Does Sieun know about this?”

“What! Of course not! He’d kill me!” Juntae says. He watches Suho deflate a little.

“Oh. Because he'd be disgusted by the idea of us, huh?” he says.

Juntae shakes his head. He barely resists the urge to roll his eyes. “No. He’d be angry that I wrote about it at all and then published it on the internet.”

Suho laughs. “Yeah. You’d be dead by now.”

“Wow, comforting.”

They stay quiet for longer. That’s that.

Juntae is relieved.

“So… when’s the next chapter?”

Or not.

“Silly. Aren’t you already mine from the beginning, Sungho-yah?” Sehun asks. “Just as I was yours?”

He sounds so certain of this. The sun rises in the east, ocean tides rise and fall, and Sehun is Sungho’s just as Sungho is Sehun’s.

Sungho buries his face in Sehun’s chest and breathes him in.

He knew. No more words needed to be said.

It was a lightbulb moment for Juntae.

It still hadn’t sat right with him that Suho wasn’t convinced that Sieun liked him. But he wouldn’t confess either.

It was as Juntae was writing the next chapter, their first date at an aquarium! , that it hit him.

Suho just needed to recreate the most romantic fanfic scenes and boom . There’s no way they wouldn’t get together in the end, right? Fanfiction never fails Juntae.

He rolls over to grab his phone from his bedside table, and quickly shoots Suho a text.

Seo Juntae (6:03 PM)

“Sungho-yah,” he whispers. His nails scratch at Sungho’s nape, sending shivers down his spine. This boy will be the death of him.

Sungho closes the distance between them.

#3 - there was only one bed

Suho shakes his head, dismissive. “Nah, this won’t work. We share the bed all the time and nothing ever happens.”

What the fuck , Juntae thinks. They’re psychos.

They’re currently at the bench under the tree on campus again to discuss secret yaoi things. Juntae can’t believe this is his life.

“Well, what about number five?” Juntae points. #5 - kiss in the rain (+ preceding an angry confession for maximum effect!). “That’s really romantic, you know.”

Suho scratches at his chest, uncertain. “I don’t know, Juntae. I don’t ever see us arguing. Or arguing in the rain, for that matter. And Sieun hates getting wet in the rain.”

Juntae sighs. Maybe they’re actually hopeless?

Suho perks up when he sees something on the list. “Ooh, what about this? Number 7, share one drink with two straws. That’s… doable.”

“Wow, I’m surprised you guys haven’t done that yet,” says Juntae. He nods, satisfied. “Alright, then. When are you gonna ask him out on a date?”

Suho looks bewildered. “I thought everyone else would be there.”

He groans. “How would it be romantic if everyone’s there? Of course you two have to be alone. Call him.”

Somehow, they still end up tagging along to Suho and Sieun’s milkshake date. Juntae doesn’t know how it happens. One moment Suho is asking Sieun over the phone if he’d like to hang out after class for milkshakes, then suddenly they’re hearing Humin’s loud voice through the speaker, yelling about how he wasn’t invited.

Now all of them are cramped in one booth, Suho and Sieun on one side, and the rest of them on the other.

“Strawberry milkshake for me,” yells Baku. “This is gonna be good. Thanks, man!” He reaches out and slaps Suho on his shoulder. Sieun pushes his hand away silently.

Suho glares at Humin. “I am not treating any of you. You weren’t invited in the first place.”

This makes Humin pout, hand at his chest. “Just because you guys are together now doesn’t mean we can’t hang out anymore!”

Everyone freezes. Even Sieun’s eyes stop scanning the menu from beside Suho, fingers twitching.

Juntae wants to run far away but also, weirdly enough, stay seated and watch this trainwreck.

He waits with bated breath.

“Oh,” Baku blurts out. “Still not yet, huh.”

“Shut up,” hisses Hyuntak, elbowing him in the ribs. Juntae exhales. “Anyway, Sieun, how’d your exam go? Mine fucking killed me. I’m never getting my bachelor’s degree.”

Baku laughs. “That’s what you get for playing all night long.”

“I was playing with you , you ass!”

“It was fine,” interrupts Sieun. “Vanilla milkshake for me.”

“Okay!” Suho stands up to order at the counter. He turns to glare at Baku and Hyuntak. “You guys order on your own.”

Baku groans and whines, but Suho wouldn't budge. Hyuntaak merely rolls his eyes and goes to order for the three of them.

Juntae watches, rapt, as Suho sets the singular vanilla milkshake down on the table.

“Where’s yours, Suho-yah?” asks Sieun, ripping off the paper wrapping from the straw and sticking it in. He takes a sip.

Suho doesn’t answer. Not breaking eye contact with Sieun (Oh my fucking god, thinks Juntae), he leans in and sips on the milkshake from the same straw

Juntae is going to pass out.

Sieun’s eyes are wide, his mouth agape. Juntae is scared, a little bit. He looks so intense .

Then the moment passes, and Sieun’s eyes flicker. He looks down at the drink and deliberately takes a sip again.

Juntae swears he hears Suho whimper.

Humin and Hyuntak are too busy arguing with each other to even notice.

What the fuck.

“Okay, so did that work?”

“YOU GUYS EYE FUCKED!”

“Calm down, Juntae.”

YOU CALM DOWN! IN FRONT OF US TOO!”

“You were the one who put that on the trope list or whatever.”

“TWO STRAWS!”

“I thought it would be more intimate!”

“YOU PROBABLY GOT HIM PREGNANT FROM HOW INTENSELY YOU LOOKED AT HIM AFTER THAT! JESUS.”

Juntae wasn’t even there when the next opportunity came. Suho only tells him about it after.

“So, I tried something from the list again,” he says casually.

Juntae raises his eyebrows. “What was it?”

Number ten, make him jealous,” Suho mumbles, slumping further down the bench. His face is half hidden by his blue hoodie.

“Ah,” Juntae says. “Oh no. Judging from your current state, nothing good came from it. What happened?”

Juntae knows how Sieun gets when Suho is flirted with. He’s seen it firsthand.

One time they were at a fast food restaurant, eating a rushed meal between classes, when a waitress slipped Suho her number on a tissue napkin.

Suho took it, unknowing; he had asked for a napkin to wipe the sauce from his lips. Everyone else saw the number on it, though, and Sieun just silently watched the exchange. The waitress still stood by their table, smiling wide and expectant.

Sieun quickly stole the napkin and wiped Suho’s mouth with it himself. He leans back in his chair and continues on eating like nothing happened.

Juntae was busy writing everything down on his own napkin so he can remember for the current chapter he was writing then.

Safe to say, Sieun didn’t react well when he was jealous.

“I tried talking to a guy at the library, asking about his day and stuff. I don’t know,” Suho sighs. Oh, he’s such a sad looking puppy today. “Sieun was beside me one moment, waiting for the guy to register the book he was trying to borrow. The next moment, he was gone. Just left me there!”

“That was the worst thing you could have done,” says Juntae, despairingly. “But doesn’t this all prove Sieun likes you? Are you not convinced yet?”

“He probably just got bored and left,” his friend mumbles.

They’re a lost cause. Juntae should stop trying to help them and just return to his fanfiction.

Sehun is positively drowning in Sungho’s hoodie. Sungho couldn’t stop showering him in kisses all over his face.

Sehun laughs. “Sungho-yah,” he complains.

“You’re,” kiss on the nose, “too,” kiss on the cheeks, “fucking cute,” kiss on the lips. Sungho couldn’t get enough.

From beside Juntae, Suho groans.

Juntae shrugs, unrepentant. “I’ve been telling you ages ago, you could’ve been already doing this with the real thing.”

The day it finally happens is when Juntae least expects it.

It was pouring heavily, and classes had been cancelled. They all decided to wait out the rain at a hole-in-the-wall café.

The crack happened when Suho went to sit beside Juntae after ordering. Juntae swears he can feel the atmosphere freezing up, chilling him from the inside.

Hyuntak and Humin stare at them from across the table, confused. Sieun is between them, staring too, brows furrowed. They never openly talked about it, but everyone knew there was a designated seating arrangement: Suho always sat beside Sieun.

The silence was suffocating. Suho didn’t even notice, too busy muttering in Juntae’s ear about his next plans.

“What about I try that ‘accidentally walks out naked from the shower’ thing? Maybe that could work? Or should I cook him breakfast in bed? Or maybe that aquarium date on your recent update?” Suho mutters in his ear, leaning close, distracted. “We could kiss under a fish tunnel…”

Juntae is really going to die now.

Sieun’s eyes look shiny. Fuck. Juntae moves to shake Suho to his senses when a chair screeching back beats him to it. They all look up at Sieun.

“I’m going home,” he says, then walks away. Just like that.

“Huh? What happened?” the idiot himself asks, looking alarmed. “Oh. Why am I here?”

Juntae buries his face in his hands and moans. “You’re such an idiot. Go chase after him!”

Suho stands up, as if on command, and runs out the door.

They all stare after them.

“Should we just let that go or,” Hyuntak trails off. “Just another Tuesday with those two, I swear.”

“Kinda want a Mixed Berry Tea today,” Humin muses.

“LET’S GO,” Juntae exclaims. “We can’t let them do any more stupid thing. And also we need to prevent my death.”

Hyuntak snorts, but he stands up. They all follow outside, but they don’t have to walk any farther.

Sieun and Suho are in the middle of the street, under the pouring rain, fighting.

Oh my freaking god.

“You’re never with me anymore,” Sieun is saying, fists balled at his sides. He’s staring over Suho’s shoulder, like he can’t even bear to look his best friend in the face. “You’re always with Juntae. Or that guy from the library. Do you have something to tell me?”

“I…” Suho is at a loss for words. He looked so lost and confused.

“...miss you,” Sieun’s voice was so faint, they could barely hear him in the downpour.

“Should we move closer?” Juntae asks, worried.

“Nah,” Hyuntak says, leaning back against the café wall. “I don’t wanna get wet. Let them have at it.”

“Same,” Humin says, settling beside Hyuntak.

Juntae turns back to them.

“How could I ever look at anyone else when I have you?” cries Suho.

Finally! Yes, yes, confess now.

“—you’re my best friend, Sieun-ah.”

Sieun looked shattered. Juntae wanted to throw tomatoes.

Sieun crosses his arms across his chest and takes a step back. “Right. And what if I told you I don’t want that anymore?”

Ah, Juntae can clearly see where this is going. He hated the miscommunication trope.

“Oh. I see,” says Suho, who clearly doesn’t see what Sieun means.

Sieun nods tightly, gazing downwards. “I’m sorry for liking you, Suho-yah. I know you only wanted a best friend, but I can’t make myself stop.”

Oh fuck. He dropped the confession. Juntae was about to start shaking.

Suho continues to stare at Sieun. Juntae could practically see the gears turning.

“Oh my god,” Juntae wheezes. He clutches at Hyuntak’s arm. “They’re having their IRL italicized ‘oh’ moment!”

“Man, what the fuck is even happening,” says Hyuntak.

“You like me?” Suho says, amazed. “You… like me.”

Sieun says nothing. He’s starting to turn away. But Suho doesn’t let him get far. He tugs at Sieun’s arm and spins him around, catching him with an arm around the waist, dipping him slightly before kissing him. Full on the mouth. Under the pouring rain

Oh. My. God.

“I saw your list, by the way,” Sieun mumbles sleepily in Suho’s arms.

Suho inhales, nose buried in his hair. “Hm? What list, baby?”

“Your fanfiction tropes list,” says Sieun. Suho freezes.

“What.”

“I knew about our fanfiction too. I’ve read it.”

“...Juntae said you didn’t know about it.”

“He shouldn’t leave his things lying around.”

“...”

“...”

“You liked it too, didn’t you? That’s why you didn’t say anything about it.” Suho grins down at him, smug. He squeezes Sieun to his chest, unable to help himself. His boyfriend was so cute.

Sieun shuts him up with a kiss.
