Phainon is convinced that someone out there has cursed his name thirty-three million times.
Everything was going so wrong. First, the sun seems to be at its peak today. While Phainon appreciates good sunshine most of the time, needless to say it was absolutely unnecessary to be greeted by the sight of it at what seems like way too early in the morning for his comfort; especially when he’s dealing with the world’s worst hangover.
Second, the loud repetitive ringing of his phone is more than enough to make him want to end his own life right then and there, not to mention the extreme nausea that hits him as he tries to get up. Deeming his life miserable, the man flaps down and stays unmoving for a little longer, seriously contemplating the choices he made that have led up to this moment.
When his phone shows no signs of stopping, Phainon just decides to get this over with as retrieves it from his nightstand. With no other choice left, he swipes the answer button.
“..Non.. Phainon.. Can you hear me?” Aglaea’s voice immediately fills him with dread. Exhaustion creeps up his spine as he groans in response, not quite trusting himself with words just yet.
“Phainon, this.. serious case.. informed me.. before.. the media..” He hears, and yet isn’t able to register any word as his mind tries to lull him back to sleep.
“Phainon!”
His eyes snap open once again, this time, he is much more awake. Aglaea normally doesn’t act this way unless something has gone terribly wrong.
“I’m here.. Could you please repeat what you just said?”
He hears Aglaea pacing in the background, her heels clacking as she lets out a frustrated sigh. If Phainon could see her, he would bet that she was probably chewing her nails—a habit she has picked up whenever she was placed in nerve-wracking situations.
“You should have told me about the marriage before the media got to it. Now everyone is collectively losing their minds—”
“Sorry for cutting you off, Aglaea. The what?”
“The marriage you have kept from everyone, yes, the whole world knows now. As I was saying—”
Phainon’s heart drops.
“Aglaea, I’m not married.”
Aglaea scoffs, as if she was offended that he was trying to fool her.
“Phainon, I’m serious. There’s no use in denying at this point. You’re not in trouble for keeping that from us, well, normally you would be but the fire is burning too much now. We’ll just be focusing on handling the people..” She says, her room leaving no room for argument.
Phainon is startled. His eyes are blown wide as he tries to assess the situation while Aglaea explains her plan. As Phainon goes through the five stages of grief while thinking of a way to convince Aglaea that he wasn’t married, a loud yawn emits from beside him.
He comes to a sudden realization. Phainon hasn’t bothered looking at the right side of the bed since he woke up, too preoccupied with the matter at hand.
What the hell is going on?
As if he is a protagonist of a thriller movie, he turns around slowly as he holds his breath. Phainon is pretty sure he has chanted the whole entirety of a prayer inside his head as he prepares himself for what is about to greet him.
Please don’t be a ghost please don’t be a ghost please don’t be a ghost please don’t be—
Phainon lets out the loudest shriek mankind has ever known.
He thinks that he could be casted in The Conjuring for the absolute and genuine fear his face is most probably showing right now. Oh, how desperately he wishes that this was just a scene to act out instead. But no, this is reality.
His reality is a fucking horror movie.
Sleeping on the other side of the bed is Anaxagoras.
A legendary star, youngest receiver of the Academy Award for Best Actor when he was twenty-one, Tony Award winner for his Broadway debut; Blasphemer’s Truth, and every director’s dream leading man.
Most importantly, Phainon’s ex-boyfriend.
“…Phainon, are you okay?” Aglaea asks and Phainon only lets out a yelp as response.
She clears her troath before continuing. “As I was saying. Your husband, Anaxagoras, should let his management deal with his own problem as I will not tolerate a minute of his presence.”
Phainon resists the urge to throw up.
If Phainon’s heart dropped earlier, he is a hundred percent betting that it’s probably buried in the underworld now. His hand starts to shake as he clutches his phone as if it’s the only thing that’s anchoring him to reality.
After Aglaea hangs up, he has resorted to scrolling through different news outlets and social media like his life depends on it, opting to ignore the elephant (or in this case; the person) in the room.

I’m beyond happy for the two of them! 🥹 As someone who was able to witness the both of them during their short-lived love, I’m grateful that they found their way back to each other. Phainon’s happiness during that time was something that I thought I’d never see again 🫶

Before other people come at me, yes, Phainon has indeed been happy the past few years & I’m not saying that his happiness has always depended on 🌿. But the Phainon that used to be with him was such a carefree version of him—it really did feel like watching him act as a young adult for the first time in a while whenever he was around 🌿 and I’m simply looking forward to seeing that version of Phainon once again

On that note, I would like to also remind everyone to respect the privacy of the actors. As we wait for an official statement from both parties, please refrain from diving into their personal lives and looking for more than what was given to us. While we are all happy, let us also give them a moment of their own as they both deserve it. There is a reason why the wedding ceremony was private in the first place. As fans, let’s not cross our lanes! /gen

Phainon never stops looking through his feed, praying in the back of his mind that this was just some sick joke—a prank being collectively done by the whole entirety of the universe.
“Are you still not done?” Comes from the voice he silently pleaded to not have to hear. Embarrassingly enough, Phainon physically jumps at the sound.
Anaxa in all his glory leans against the pillows of Phainon’s bed as he stares at the other with an unreadable expression. His eyes flutter close as he lets out a yawn before cupping his own head—a rare moment of Anaxa’s perfect facade slipping. His hair is a mess, the mint strands falling loosely and Phainon has to resist the muscle memory to fix it.
“Do you have painkillers?” Anaxa asks casually, as if he didn’t spend the night at his ex’s penthouse. In his bedroom. Laying on his bed. As if they weren’t dealing with the most absurd news of their entire lives.
Phainon stares dumbfoundedly before nodding.
“Yeah… I’ll be right back.”
By the time Phainon gets back after having his fair share of painkillers as well, Anaxa is already spotless and holding his own phone. He has somehow made himself at home, judging by the droplets of water still falling down his face; the other had already washed his face in Phainon’s bathroom.
What catches Phainon’s eyes is the ever-present frown that makes the other’s face contort second by second. Phainon knocks on the open door to announce his presence, and yet Anaxa’s gaze remains glued to his screen. Phainon walks over before lightly tapping the latter’s shoulder.
“Here,” He hands Anaxa the glass of water and the medicine, their fingers lightly meeting in the middle. Phainon pulls back as if he was electrocuted instantly. Judging from the look on Anaxa’s face, the other is already aware of their situation.
“Do you recall what happened last night?” Phainon asks. There’s no use beating around the bush when they’ve dug themselves into this deep of a hole.
Anaxa clicks his tongue after swallowing the pill, “No. The most that I can remember was attending the Chrysos Banquet.”
Anaxa puts the glass on Phainon’s bedside table. Such a sight would’ve sent him over the moon a few years back, with the daydreams of a domestic life filled with simplicity. Yet, all Phainon feels right now is anxiety.
“I’ve read the article,” Anaxa begins.
“We really did get married last night. If you check your bag you should find the legal documents there.” He continues after a long beat of silence.
Phainon crosses his room as he grabs the bag stacked on top of his desk. Surely enough, there was an envelope tucked neatly inside. With shaking fingers, he opens Pandora’s box.
A marriage certificate with both his and Anaxa’s eligible signatures. Although the hand-writing is atrocious, there is no doubt that this was by the both of them.
Wordlessly, he goes back to Anaxa and hands him the document that signed their ticket to misery. He watches Anaxa inspect the paper. Once he’s finished reading the entirety, Anaxa flaps on the bed.
“What the fuck?” Anaxa says. Phainon nods.
“What the fuck, indeed.”

HEADLINE: Anaxagoras and Phainon; once star-crossed lovers, now reconnected.
On the 9th of July, several sightings of actors; Anaxagoras (32) and Phainon (26) have been reported right after the wrapping up party for the Chrysos Banquet, the event of the year for the industry’s most renowned actors.
For a brief history, Anaxagoras and Phainon were co-stars for the critically-awarded film, The Prophecy (2019) wherein the two’s love story began developing even from behind the screen. The two actors dated for a while, before ultimately breaking up after 6 months. Insiders claim that the two had major differences and realized they were incompatible with one another. However, both Anaxagoras and Phainon actually refuse to elaborate more on the topic, opting to simply ignore one another’s presence—which then led to the breakup of the century.
However, yesterday’s events really swept up the entire industry in a blink of an eye. Attached below are pictures of the two actors, photographed by our staff.

The actors have secretly gotten married last night, as captured by our crew. With that being said, a direct confirmation from both parties involved is yet to be released. Insider informants have stated that it may take a while as both artists are currently busy with their honeymoon.
