Work Text:
A misty silhouette was seen to your peripheral vision, as you were walking from the association.
The silhouette gained a few glances from your co-workers, who were talking amongst each other.
The figure seemed to move forward, interrupting the light raindrops falling from the sky, the sound of footsteps now echoing across the pavement.
The sound was clearly heard due to the silence that descended across the entrance.
After a few moments that felt like eternity, the streetlight shined through, revealing the identity of the silhouette that made your breath hitch and your heart to flare up, beating so loud that you were evident that everyone around you heard it.
Maybe they could, seeing as they turned towards you when the man walked forward, his steps confident and unwavering. You both locked eyes which caused heat to rush to your cheeks and for him to fasten his steps.
It didn't take him a long time to reach where you stood with crinkling eyes. He moved closer to you when your breath hitched as his features were clear as day when he came near you.
‘’How was work love?’’ his voice was carried through the light winds of the night, his eyes shining with mirth. ‘’Work was work Zaynie, but I didn’t guess that you would be here, I was about to catch a ride with Tara to see you’’ Your voice leaves in huffs due to the cold air finally catching up to you. ‘’Well then, perhaps I should have been clearer with my intentions’’ he slowly creeps up and rests at your waist and you reply, your voice teasing ‘’You don’t say, Dr. Zayne’’.
‘’I’m sorry love, I will keep that in mind for future endeavours'’ His hand pushed you flat into his side, making you nuzzle your nose into the small warmth of his neck. ‘’Future? Dr. Zayne, are you implying what I’m thinking you are, if so, you are not slick in the slightest.’’ He smiles sheepishly as if he was caught in his act, and that makes you chuckle before planting a kiss to his collar, the outside world forgotten to both of you.
