Do We All Have Such Bad Memories?

Summary:

Dream has always hidden his blindness from everyone. But what happens when he happens to accidentally isolate himself from his best friend and they have an emotional breakdown when they see Dream again?

Notes:

Just ignore my horrible prophecy skills. It was originally a poem about water. But who really cares when I turned it into a part of a prophecy? Not me!

Also Enjoy!

Chapter 1: Just a Long Trip Right?

Chapter Text

It is wet,

It cools you down,

Unknown to all around,

It has a story to tell, so gather 'round,

It has flown miles upon miles to tell this tale,

It is true,

It never stops moving,

Allow a riptide to carry you to see,

To tell its story to thee,

It may be cruel,

It may be good,

But hear it's warning,

Two who are seen as enemies,

Shall vanish into thin air,

Without a care,

To who those they miss,

To whom they mourn,

Shall go looking,

But beware,

There are monsters lurking in the shadows,

There are cures hidden soon to be found,

Just check within a hope,

Of a single person who cannot see,

But shall justify their right to be thee,

Be careful to whom you seek,

A young boy with golden hair,

Shall find a courage within themselves,

To beat the monster blocking the path,

Find the sword to those who disappeared owned,

Slay the monsters, follow the path,

Make a friend, oh young boy,

Find those who went missing,

Deep in the ocean depths far below,

Find a young soldier,

Battered and blind,

Unknown to all,

Rivals once called,

Turned to lovers with a mood,

Dream himself knew he was blind. He didn't really want to share this information. So he decided to wear a mask with a pixel smiley face.

Techno POV

Techno was concerned. He had thought that he and Dream were good friends. So why has Dream been disappearing and vanishing from his life altogether? He knew that life itself could feel impossible, but that is what friends are for, right? To catch you when you fall.

Dream POV

Dream didn’t exactly think he was isolating himself, so when he got a letter from Techno asking if he could join for dinner. He didn't think anything of it and accepted.

He went to the meeting place where a cool breeze met him. When he knocked on the door, he did not expect to be dragged inside and be squashed against a couch and Techno on top of him. Whenever he would attempt to move, Techno would growl and squeeze him.

Dream sighed and put his arms around the piglin, "What's wrong, Tech?"

Techno whined and tried to burrow further into his chest, mumbling, "You've been gone and not answering any of my letters."

Dream felt a wet spot begin to grow on his shirt, and he just squeezed Techno reassuringly.

He held him tightly as Techno sobbed, "D-did I do something wrong?"

He touched Tech's back soothingly and said calmly, "No, Tech. You've done absolutely nothing wrong. I've just been away for a while."

He slightly calmed at this, but was still sniffling. "O-ok."

And just like that, they fell asleep on the couch with Techno burying himself into Dream's chest.
